A letter that says it all
Here’s a link to a Washington Post opinion piece that says it all. It’s a letter written by Captain Humayun Khan’s brigade commander in Iraq, now a retired Major General:

Burning the GOP to the ground
Trump’s still waging his scorched earth against the GOP. At some point Republican leaders should catch on that Trump’s a total fraud, and his actions are helping Hillary. He sets up these media firestorms deliberately, so that the media hunts down Republican leaders, shoves a microphone in their faces, to stage these hostage videos of the GOP held hostage by the “Insurgent”. The questions the reporters ask are always the same, “Do you support Donald Trump’s position on whatever crazy, vile, and or offensive thing Trump has just spewed?” And then the next question is “Do you still support Donald Trump?” These hostage videos are meant to make the Republican leaders look like amoral a-holes like Trump or hypocrites for supporting such an amoral a-hole as Trump.
Trump has been the center of attention since last Saturday when he attacked the Gold Star father, who spoke at the Democratic Convention last week. Trump attacked the Gold Star mother who did not speak, but just stood beside her husband. Trump deliberately creates these reality TV dramas to stay the center of attention in the news and after a few days, he claims it was all a big misunderstanding. A week or so later, Trump always declares the media was lying and he never said that. Trump is like Hillary, he can lie through and about anything, without batting an eye. They both have this disconcerting trait of an extreme sociopath, where a reporter can show them a video of them saying something and both of them will look straight at the reporter and say that they never said that. It takes a special kind of pathological liar to keep lying, even when shown a video proving they said something.
However, the Republican leaders continue to have their credibility whittled away by these hostage videos. This is what the “GOP Insurgency” was all about and Trump wants to make sure no Republican leaders, who won’t kiss his butt, are left standing. His scorched earth continues unabated.
During the past day Trump started alleging that he is sure the election in November will be rigged against him. Republicans leaders should be worried, because that is Trump preparing to jump ship before November and leave the GOP hanging. Whether that was his plan all along or it’s an escape route to avoid a crushing defeat, who knows, but Trump will bail, just like he bailed on the debates when Cruz and Rubio made him look like the imbecilic clown, he is. Trump will not stick around until November if his polls numbers continue to dive and he continues to come under fire from all sides. His campaign remains a chaotic mess, because Trump is in charge and there is no other calm head or hand to grab the steering wheel from him, to avoid this train wreck.
If Trump does bail, he will rail about how the Republicans treated him so badly and unfairly…. you can count on that.
This is the most corrupt presidential election in American history.

Amen, General Dempsey!
“Military leaders do not belong at political conventions”
Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin E.Dempsey, penned an important reminder to retired generals. In the Washington Post, he writes:
“The military is not a political prize. Politicians should take the advice of senior military leaders but keep them off the stage. The American people should not wonder where their military leaders draw the line between military advice and political preference. And our nation’s soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines should not wonder about the political leanings and motivations of their leaders.”

The Little Woman in White
My love of American history began in elementary school and all through grade school I loved to sign out, not only fictional stories from the school library, but also biographies of great Americans. In 1975, I was a teenager when the American bicentennial craze took hold in America, leading up to July 4, 1976.
Along with patriotic fervor and a renewed interest in American history, the American feminist movement had revved into high gear too, leading to the push for “herstory”.
Merriam-Webster defines “herstory” as “history considered or presented from a feminist viewpoint or with special attention to the experience of women” and lists the first known use as 1970.
I remember reading about women of the American Revolution, where their deeds were greatly exaggerated and possibly complete fabrications, in my opinion, and the feminist movement seemed determined to conjure up unknown Amazon-warrior females, throughout history, whom somehow the evil male patriarchy had deliberately erased from history.
Having been a soldier a short time in my youth and having seen and experienced just a few of the grueling physical requirements for combat troops, the truth is, by human nature, women do NOT possess the upper-body strength to compete with men in ground combat skills. That’s one of those hard facts that feminists prefer to pretend is just discrimination against women, while at the same time they accept that in sports competitions men and women differ in peak performance outcomes. Getting women into every traditional position of power held by men continues to be the feminist quest.
Last night served as one of those pivotal feminist moments, which Hillary Clinton, with her nomination for president, touts as breaking through one of the last remaining “glass ceilings”.
Hillary represents the victory of HERstory over fact-based history.
So, here she is, the smartest woman in the world, a feminist icon, ostensibly the most talented woman in American politics ever and her handlers tried to sell her as June Cleaver….
The great irony last night was that while she envisions being the “first” female President as her destiny, to try and sell her to the American people, her handlers sent her daughter out there with a hokey speech about what a doting mother she was, devoting time to family dinners, trips to the library, writing personal notes to her daughter every day (yeah right). Heck, she sounded like a stay-at-home Mom… Even Bill Clinton resorted to a hokey story about Hillary on her knees putting liner in the drawers for Chelsea’s clothes, while getting Chelsea settled at college.
As a cynic when it comes to the Clintons, I suspect these “family stories” are about as real as Hillary being under sniper fire in Bosnia.
Does anyone believe any of that from this power-driven woman, who has devoted every waking moment to her own quest for political power for 40 years???
This was as bad as her 1992 pretty in pink interview: https://www.c-span.org/video/?56307-1/whitewater-investigation
Turning her into a traditional stay-at-home-mom personality was their desperate gambit to try to “humanize” and soften her image from the money-grubbing, coattail-clinging, power-grasping harpy that she really is and that America knows too well.
Next thing you know, they’ll be whispering to the press that power-hungry Hillary is so misunderstood and really, she’s a wonderfully doting grandmother, who secretly loves to bake cookies for Charlotte…

America’s Best Hope
Here’s a run-down of this Hillary versus Trump match-up.
I have been saying since last Fall that Bill Clinton’s triangulation strategy was in play – Bernie the kook on the left, Trump the kook on the right, with the path up the middle cleared for Hillary to march to the White House. She spent almost a year trying to reinvent herself and conjure up this grandmotherly, Ms love and kindness shtick, beginning with soft soap late night TV appearances and daytime talk shows geared toward women.
I believe that somewhere in that Potemkin Trump campaign there were Clinton sewer rats scurrying in the dark corners. I wondered for a long time whether Trump was in cahoots with the Clintons or a massive dupe. I believe he was a dupe. I suspect that Lewandowski was a go-between between Clinton operatives and Trump. Stone was pushed out last August, but then by late Feb. Stone and some GOP friends of Trump convinced Trump to hire Stone’s old business partner, Manafort. After several skirmishes, Lewandowski left the Trump campaign and was immediately hired by CNN.
The thing about Trump is that while he is a total ignoramus on policy, he is a genius at self-promotion and he has the highly attuned ability of a con man to read his marks.
I believe that Hillary and Trump are two sides of the same extreme personality disorder. He wants the presidency as a combination of the ultimate vanity purchase and a belief that only he can “make America great again”. She believes being the FIRST female President of the United States is her destiny. She has believed this probably since her early teens and every move she has made in her life has been geared toward that end. Trump has dabbled with the thought of being President for decades, but it hasn’t been his all-consuming quest. And beyond that, Hillary has already gone “very far” beyond the bounds of decency and the law to stay on track to achieve her destiny. I think she would do just about anything at this point, to win, but I think Trump still has some moral boundaries and a family who keeps trying to pull him back. Hillary has Bill, who owes her big time for saving him over and over. He is going all-out to strong-arm all the Dems and do whatever is necessary
Just from a female perspective, and having known a few women like Hillary, my prediction is that Hillary will win in November.
Hillary will stealthily break every law necessary to win. The Democratic party, which is a huge organized crime syndicate and every power of the executive branch of our government will go toward assuring she wins. The media is overwhelmingly liberal and will carry her messaging.
Trump will bluster and make alarming statements, which will feed Hillary’s narrative that he is dangerous, and the GOP, felled by the “GOP Insurgent”, is in disarray.
And what I believe is the best hope for America is NEITHER Hillary nor Trump.
I believe America’s best hope is for the WHOLESALE PUBLIC CORRUPTION to be fully exposed to the American people!

A few old LB posts:
An American Love Story (barf)
“I have read your Declaration and Constitution, and although at first I found the former personally injurious, I came to see that these are lucid and perfect documents, and that if you return to them as faithfully as they have served you since the beginning, they will not fail you.
You have neglected them, and are unclear about the duties of a citizen and what comes by right. You seem to have forgotten the ancient battles in which you prevailed, and, more importantly, those that you merely survived. You seem to have forgotten that your original principles arose in a land that was carpeted with virgin stands of trees, and that the principles by which you lived — immaterial and bright, ever enduring — grew up just as strong and fresh. Return to them. They are waiting for you, as are reserves of honour as vast as the stands of trees that once spread without end.”
– “Freddy and Fredericka” p. 498, a funny, modern fairy tale about British royalty sent to live a year in America…. having to make it on their own, written by Mark Helprin
The only thing more sickening than watching Bill Clinton create this mythical love story, that sweeps the arc of mid-70s radicalism to 2016 wholesale public corruption, is watching the media hype this tripe.
“I met a girl.”….
Indeed, then he met many, many girls….
Especially women buy into the Clinton “love story” fable. Especially women buy into Hillary as the “smartest woman in the world” too. The man speaking last night was the man whose coattails she rode to power. On her own, and without a constant coterie of handlers and fixers, she’s really a total loser and incompetent.
Her sloppiness is right in your face, from her Libya debacle to running her State Department business through a home-brew server, with virtually no security. She obviously jeopardized national security and as soon as her “deleted” emails start getting leaked, that FACT will be indisputable. Any competent state intelligence agency, which might exclude America’s, has all of her email traffic from her unsecured, home-brew email server.
Yet, her coronation continues apace.
I’ve mentioned before, that I believe Bill Clinton is probably the smartest political strategist in America today. He’s also an excellent orator. When he’s on message, he can sell you anything.
Last night he was selling the Clinton love story…. and Hillary, the greatest woman in America.
Great….
From years of working in a store, I can tell you that you can take any piece of junk and sell it. The easiest way to sell junk is to mark it down, throw it in a shopping cart, stick a sign on the cart and roll it to the front of the store, where all the customers pass by it. Like magic, it sells.
Last night, Bill Clinton rolled the Hillary shopping cart to the front of the store.
With the puffed up, pampered Prince of New York, The Donald, and above the law, Queen Hillary, this election year may be the greatest farce in American history.
Yep, a Shakespearean comedy to rival, “As You Like It”….. “All the world’s a stage.”or maybe, “A fool, a fool! I met a fool in the forest.” fits better….

Does anyone remember Soviet disinformation campaigns?
Here’s an interesting piece by Humberto Fontovo: “Trump Spreads KGB-Hatched Disinformation Meme about JFK’s Assassination”. The first paragraph sets the stage for how clueless all Americans now are about hostile foreign intelligence operations inside the United States:
“There was a day when sensible Americans (i.e. right-wingers) promptly pigeonholed people who accused “right-wingers!” (especially the most hardline, anti-communist and dastardly among them: Cuban-exiles!) of assassinating President Kennedy on the kook Left. In that day, such commie-like rantings might have also placed you on J. Edgar Hoover’s watch-list.”
