Repetitive Messaging

Here is a link JK provided yesterday: WHODUNNIT? RUSSIA AND COERCION THROUGH CYBERSPACE.

It’s late in the game for American national security and strategic “experts” to get their heads out of their butts and get back to nuts and bolts basics:

BIG PICTURE/LITTLE PICTURE – LEARN IT, UNDERSTAND IT, PRACTICE IT ALWAYS!!!

Every successful military strategy is based on deception and yes, that means one side is “conspiring” to defeat the other side, so being called a “conspiracy nut” doesn’t even phase me in the least. I study military strategy – ends, ways, means. I try to discern strategies, just like I analyze systems – figure out the parts and how they operate together. I read a lot about military history and military strategy and have for decades, but I am NOT an expert on anything. I am a homemaker, but most of all I am an American, who swore an oath to defend The Constitution always.

The following is a repetitive LB message, which I posted at The American Thinker again this morning. It might be removed. Many of my comments there get removed, I suspect because Trump is very popular at their website. I also have posted a few comments at PJ Media and interestingly enough, the author, Roger L. Simon (a Trump supporter), descended into comments recently, to accuse me of making straw men arguments.  Yes, I am controversial… and persistent. So, first here is my comment at The American Thinker article by Patricia McCarthy, The Cluelessness of ‘WWWDC’. This article was berating white-women-with-college-degrees for supporting Hillary. Here’s my comment:

“Crooked Hillary, awful in ways both obvious and alarming, isn’t why Trump is losing and it’s also not because of feminist blather.  The reason Trump is losing is because he deliberately has been exploding his own campaign for months now, trying to use the Clinton-style scorched earth media strategy that worked like a charm in the primary.

His campaign staff and surrogates spend every minute trotting after him, cleaning up the verbal garbage he spews constantly.  Trump could have spent the time since the convention working to unite the GOP, studying policy and staying on a coherent message, but instead he decided to play a high stakes scorched earth face-off with Hillary, hoping to recapture that primary “winning in all the polls” mojo.  The reason it hasn’t worked is that scorched earth only works with massive mass media collusion.  The “corrupt media” was corrupt in the GOP primary giving Trump billions of dollars in free media and selling his talking points non-stop.  That allowed Hillary to bury her email server scandal and also propelled only the worst GOP candidates to gain any traction (per the Podesta email – promoting the Pied Piper candidates)

That Clinton Scorched Earth requires:

Talking points and buzz word messaging, which are relentlessly repeated by both political operatives and the media.

Mass media domination of the messaging, to control the 24/7 NEWS cycle, which requires mass media collusion.

Relentless repetition of polling data by both the political operatives and media, to facilitate the manufacture of opinion cascades (winning in all the polls).

Trump tore the GOP apart, using a hyped GOP establishment conspiracy theory (identical to how Hillary plays her vast, right-wing conspiracy), but his angry followers, who were duped by this con man, still want to blame everyone else for his failures.  Trump’s primary talking points and relentless repetition of them by both him and the media sold him as “winning in all the polls”.

This Clinton SPIN media messaging, which morphed into the Obama “narrative” media messaging is wholesale public corruption, where the media elite and one political party control the political messaging 24/7 in the mainstream media and they reinforce that messaging by selling manufactured opinion cascades (polls) and talking points, which they repeat relentlessly.  The repeated messages are what people remember and the repeated polls brainwash people to believe poll numbers reflect “the will of the people”.

This isn’t just about this election, it’s about a corrupt system designed to allow Leftists and Democratic politicians to control the media messaging and thereby control the political process in America.  This corrupt media collusion, that worked to assure Trump dominated in the GOP primary, is working to bury Trump in dirt now. This is the Clinton Scorched Earth 2.0 .  Everyone can see the corrupt media pile-on now, where the media keeps hyping one Trump scandal after another – all stories that are years old and which the media sat on for the past year – to use in October to destroy Trump.  Trump is just too stupid to realize he was a Clinton dupe all along, he thinks he can beat the Clintons at their own scorched earth, not even realizing that to win with that strategy requires massive mass media collusion – it’s totally corrupt (but to borrow Comey’s words, “not illegal”).”

The article where Roger L. Simon challenged me was, Panicky GOP Leaders should Come Home after Trump Wins Debate #2:

The Clinton operatives and their friends have many more devastating hits on Trump planned out, with the worst saved up for days before the election.  That reality should check the exuberance of Trump followers, but they keep believing he is great and will win.  His campaign is imploding and each Clinton hit will expose Trump’s deplorable character with irrefutable evidence – they spent the past year compiling video tapes and combing records.  This is how the Clintons operate. Trump has recycled Bill Clinton women and Putin emails.

Cheer him on at your own peril. Rumors are swirling there’s tape of him using racial slurs… He’s taking the GOP down into the sewer with him.

“That reality should check the exuberance of Trump followers, but they keep believing he is great and will win.”

For the record I would like to say that is absolute nonsense.  We are in an election of two people with a tremendous amount at stake.  No one said anyone was “great” here or even close.  It’s a choice and in my case easy to make because I believe in the rule of law.  You disagree, fine. But quit making up idiotic straw men.

Each time Trump comes back with one of these “counter punches”, the Trump pundits keep spinning it that he is back or he’s not out.

The Clintons are the most corrupt political machine in modern American history, perhaps all of American history.  The Clinton machine orchestrated the GOP Insurgency with friends of Bill in the media elite.  Yes, hard to prove, but the billions of free media selling Trump was obviously corrupt.  In late Feb, all but FOX pivoted to the “loose cannon” mode.

Hillary should have been indicted, just as Bill Clinton should have been removed from office for lying under oath, obstructing justice and intimidating witnesses, which were all in the charges. GOP Senators waffled.

Trump seems more like a gift to the Clintons to get Hillary elected than the one thing standing between Hillary and the White House- he is the perfect dupe.  Every time he “survives”, there’s another more devastating liberal media revelation of Trump dirt, while Trump is relying on Wikileaks to save him.  Bill Clinton set up the perfect triangulation strategy – Bernie the kook on the left, Trump the kook on the right – with the middle cleared for Hillary.  Despite her many lies tonight – she stayed calm and poised and did not loose one bit of her foothold on the middle ground.  Trump gained nothing.

Tonight he rambled out one attack after another, much of it garbage.  And then he ended this debate praising “no stamina Hillary” : “She doesn’t quit, she doesn’t give up, I respect that. I tell it like it is: She’s a fighter!”

Frankly, all along (since 1992), I’ve suspected that there was some hostile foreign intelligence influence in the Clinton SPIN cycle media messaging strategy and their souped up impeachment spin – Scorched Earth media messaging strategy, which morphed into the GWB Derangement Syndrome media messaging strategy, then morphed into the Obama “Narratives” media messaging strategy. And now we have experienced the Trump “GOP Insurgent” media messaging triumph to burn the GOP to the ground, in the primary, and we’re at the Clinton Scorched Earth 2.0 media messaging strategy to make sure Hillary wins – no matter what. All of these media messaging strategies were totally corrupt and relied on massive mass media collusion to brainwash enough Americans to buy into them to succeed. However, they all also are at their core run like military-style INFORMATION WARFARE strategies and sorry, most of the Dems, to include Hillary and Bill Clinton, know nothing about military strategy. Bill Clinton is a political genius, he is not in any way, shape or form a military strategist. The “SPIN” fits with his area of expertise- political messaging.

I’ve always been suspicious of the Carville/Matlin duo, which did in George H.W.Bush – something smelled off with them during that election, their hokey love affair and everything about them. Another Clinton spin meister supreme, George Stepanopoulos, choirboy looks, and now Chief Anchor and Chief Political Correspondent for ABC News.

So once again, here is what this strategy really is and yes, I made up the “mass media saturation strategy” name myself, long ago, because that’s what the strategy IS:

Mass media saturation is the military strategy of swarming juxtaposed to a mass media battlefield

Scorched earth is the military strategy of scorched earth (a war crime under the Geneva Conventions btw) juxtaposed to a mass media battlefield, Scorched earth information warfare is a take no prisoners blitz of vicious character assassinations AND mass media saturation on steroids.

Combined, they have been ruthlessly used to divide America into hostile, warring factions

The Russians are playing a worldwide media messaging game – BIG picture and that Iranian incident of seizing two American ships in January was part of it:

The Wiki-leaks dumps are part of it, even Lavrov’s “oh, so disingenuous pussy joke” with Christiane Amanpour (Iranian, pushed for US intervention in Balkans, married top Clinton State Dept official- getting closer access to Clinton White House), was a middle finger to US leaders. For the pearl-clutchers saying, “How could you be suspicious of Amanpour?” Well first it was her theatrical prodding US intervention in the Balkans, which made me wonder why some “Leftist” was urging US military action, so here’s the LB Guide to Profiling again.

Here’s the Lavrov brilliant attack on American leadership:

Here’s another BIG Russian media message for the US and the West:

“Russia taunts US with biggest military offensive since the Cold War”

For the record, I could not care less when people attack me personally or call me a crazy conspiracy nut, but I sure hope that the people entrusted with our national security get their heads out of their butts SOON, because the Russians ARE on the move and they have a COMPREHENSIVE MILITARY STRATEGY and they have been incrementally waging it for DECADES against America and the West. There should be a few Cold Warriors, who remember how this game is played.

Hillary or Trump are both surefire losers for America – one is too stupid to realize Putin is fluffing him and the other has so much dirt that the Russians are holding and ready to blackmail her, that she’s compromised six ways to Sunday.

This isn’t just about presidential “politics” or some benign media messaging strategy, because the Clinton mass media messaging is just part of this. The Russians are escalating their cyber warfare actions, their geopolitical actions AND military actions.

This is the culmination of a DECADES’ long comprehensive military strategy to neuter the United States and the West and the main effort has been to fuel virulent partisan factions in America and destroy Americans’ confidence in the media, in their economic system (Wall Street attacks ring a bell), the police (hey BLM, ring a bell), and the entire American governmental system. It has been a comprehensive military strategy all along.

Putin will be the only winner come November 8th.

More Home Truths

G. Murphy Donovan penned a very thoughtful and thought-provoking essay, “Whence Wisdom?”, at the New English Review, prodded by a young man’s question at a dinner with friends:

“I had dinner the other day with a family that was about to launch their son towards college. As the evening drew to a close, their first born asked me if I had any words of wisdom about school to share as he left home for the first time.

Wisdom, thought I?  Now there’s an asset in short supply today, if not words, then surely the quality of wisdom. I believe I coughed up a few clichés, something about maturity being a journey “from me to thee.”

The written word is often the corrected and amended version of the spoken. A few days later, I sent the aspiring scholar what follows below, a personal appraisal of schools, education, and the pursuit of wisdom.”

Whence Wisdom? by G. Murphy Donovan

He ventured way beyond a few clichés, offering up some cold slab home truths, while cracking quite a few eggheads’ flighty theories and pieities.

Gentlemen: America’s endangered species

America needs ladies, but America especially needs gentlemen.  Donald Trump and Bill Clinton speak to this glaring deficit in America, so beyond the liberal media hysteria to hype Trump’s deplorable conduct, all to help Hillary get elected, and beyond conservative mouthpieces and politicians sacrificing every shred of decency to prop up Donald Trump, out of political calculations over principles, here are some old LB posts on gentlemen:

Why America needs gentlemen…. and ladies too

Who to blame?

Trump decided to go full-throttle, scorched earth, to counter the Clinton/mainstream media scorched earth being waged against him.  As I’ve stated many times, the problem Trump faces waging scorched earth remains, that Trump wades into the sewer himself and personally throws all the crap, regardless of the veracity of the smears.  This makes him look like a LOOSE CANNON.   He feeds the Clinton meme.

The Clintons have cadres of loyal spinners and mouthpieces, who dump all the dirt for them.  That way, Hillary can prance out there like the Queen and act like she’s above the fray and the serious candidate.  She gets to “act” presidential, even though she has launched the same, down-in-the-sewer campaign as Trump.  This is how catty women operate naturally – manipulate other people, get other people to do their dirty work and play mind games.  Hillary is just as unhinged as Trump (probably more so, imo).  I keep telling my family that she just hides “her crazy” much better than Trump.  The Clinton/Democratic Party machines are organized criminal enterprises – nothing noble there, that’s for sure.

So, when Republicans want to figure out who to blame for the Trump national embarrassment, it’s not only the Clinton machine,  who orchestrated the “GOP Insurgency”, at fault, it’s the Republican leadership who refused to do anything to stop Trump, even though they were well aware he was a fraud, con man, liar, liberal Democrat.  They did nothing to vet him, so these leaked tax returns go to the RNC failure to properly vet their presidential candidate.  If you refuse to defend your party from a hostile takeover, you deserve what you get.

This 2016 Election Nightmare sank to a voracious media feeding frenzy in recent days – about old sex scandals, a Latin beauty queen/narco kingpin mistress, fat-shaming, billion dollar tax write-off from the “great” businessman’s losses, Trump mocking Hillary’s health crisis and  gleeful anticipation of more Russian active measures to interfere in our election.

Trump’s conservative followers really need to think about why they have decided to become amoral moral relativists.

The problem with supporting Trump, as the only thing to stop corrupt Hillary, all along, has been you need to keep moving further and further making excuses for Trump’s corruption.  You have to sell your soul.

Hillary is thoroughly corrupt.  Trump is thoroughly corrupt.  Supporting thoroughly corrupt people corrupts YOU – that’s the TRUTH.  Corrupt people always try to drag their families, friends, and supporters into more corruption, that’s just how it works in life and that’s how it works in politics too.

It’s tough to stand on principle – many people will end up hating you, calling you an idealistic fool, or berating you, but just because everyone else goes along with something or SOMEONE who is corrupt, you should always think for yourself and do the right thing.

Being an American isn’t just about individual liberty, it’s about your duties as a citizen and that means fidelity to The Constitution.  People telling you there are no other choices, to push you, or to absolve themselves from guilt for supporting either of these crooks,  don’t understand the most important FREEDOM we have – the right to refuse to just get in line and shut-up.  If enough people refused to support these two thoroughly corrupt candidates, instead of saying we must choose one or the other, many other choices would appear.  Granted, in our constitutional republic, other choices, this late in the election, aren’t easy, but they aren’t impossible.

The most consequential issues in history weren’t decided by taking the easy road.

Americans are in for a huge reality check with either of these two thoroughly corrupt sociopaths as President.  Trump is a clueless dupe, who can be baited easily and is being played, not just by Hillary, but by Putin too.  Hillary is compromised to the point, where she can easily be blackmailed by hostile foreign countries, who are sitting on all of her emails.

The only winner in November, with either of these two, will be America’s enemies!

Down in the mud…

Trump has decided to double-down on his primary scorched earth strategy – guess, he feels he can dominate the mainstream media, as they collude with the Clinton/Obama/Democratic Party machines, to steamroll Trump into the dirt.

The problem the media has is so few Americans trust them to be an honest-broker and tell the truth.  They were trying to cover-up and carry water for Hillary’ health issues.  In fact, when Hillary collapsed on September 11th, if that civilian person hadn’t posted his video of Hillary collapsing on Twitter, the media would have covered it up completely and denied there was any problem. We would have been sold the she was just “dehydrated” story.

Andrea Mitchell is a complete Hillary cheerleader, Chuck Todd was exchanging emails with Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to do in Sanders in the primary, this Washington Post reporter, David Fahrenthold, gleefully reports every bit of dirt he can dig up about the Trump Foundation, but he sure isn’t interested in looking into the Clinton Foundation or David Brock’s non-profit irregularities.  This media collusion, to help Hillary, permeates the mainstream media and it might end up helping Trump.

While Trump may dig himself to defeat, by going too far into the mud, at the same time, he is going to drag the Clintons and the media right down there with him.  The corrupt media collusion is how Bill Clinton master-minded the “GOP Insurgency” and set-up his perfect triangulation strategy in the primary.  In March, I wrote:

Trump’s mass media saturation for months on end last year, where the media gave him millions of dollars of free air time and where he relentlessly repeated his litany of buzz words and hollow phrases, came loaded down, not with policy, but with some of the most vicious sleaze was, in plain English,  CHEATING – it was cheating and fraud on a massive scale.  From many sources:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-2-billion-free-media_us_56e83410e4b065e2e3d75935

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/16/upshot/measuring-donald-trumps-mammoth-advantage-in-free-media.html

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2016/03/15/the-medias-2b-gift-to-trump/

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/donald-trump-free-tv-ad-217387

And here’s the most elucidative account of the cheating:  “Les Moonves Exposes the Trump Media Game”

So, now we are at Phase Two, the general election steamroller effort to destroy Trump.

Many crazy conspiracy theories keep cropping up about Hillary and the media corruption, but oddly enough, some are true, and these feed the perception that the media is rigging the system for Hillary.   Her “dehydrated” story was total bs, but many in the media dutifully sell Clinton talking points and their obvious one-sided reporting is totally out in the open in this election.

Trump whined about his mic not working during the debate.  Hillary mocked him.  Today it was reported that Trump’s mic really wasn’t working properly during the debate:

“The Commission on Presidential Debates admitted Friday there were indeed issues with Donald Trump’s audio at Monday’s debate – four days after the Republican nominee complained about sound issues inside the venue and was mocked for it by Hillary Clinton.

“Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall,” the CPD said in a short statement Friday afternoon.

While Trump already has taken a drubbing from political analysts for aspects of his performance Monday, the unusual — and belated — statement from the commission boosts his claim that he was having microphone problems.

“I was a little bit upset that the microphone in the room wasn’t working,” Trump told reporters Monday night.

The next day, he continued to bring up the sound issues.

“My microphone in the room, they couldn’t hear me,” Trump said on Fox and Friends. “I wonder if it was set up that way,” he added. “It was terrible.””

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/09/30/mic-dropped-debate-commission-admits-issues-with-trump-s-audio.html

McClatchyDC has an article up on the year-long Democratic effort to groom Alicia Machado,  as the Hispanic woman mistreated by Donald Trump:

Millions of Americans heard the name Alicia Machado for the first time this week in the final minutes of the most-watched presidential debate in history.

But there were actually a year’s worth of twists and turns, largely behind the scenes, that ledHillary Clinton to utter the name of the Latina beauty queen, turning Machado into a major figure in the final weeks of the presidential race.

American Bridge, an opposition research group, learned about the 1996 Miss Universe’s story last year. It sold the information directly to the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee and passed it on to Correct the Record, a super political action committee, which also sold it to Clinton’s campaign, according to three people familiar with the transactions who were not authorized to speak publicly.

At this point, I can’t even predict where this Election 2016 race will go, but I do know where it will end up – NO MATTER WHAT .

Hillary is going to win, even if the Clinton/Obama/Democratic corrupt political machines have to write and sell an entire false narrative about the election results to the American people. The massive level of Obama administration corruption, makes it imperative that the Dems keep control of the White House.  If they could make her email server scandal disappear, lying to the American people about the election results will be just a small step further, with their Wholesale Public Corruption.

The mainstream media will happily sell that, even if it is a lie.

March Under One Flag (blog repost from 2013)

vintage-patriotic-american-flag-god-bless-america

The following is a blog post, I originally posted October 16, 2013.  I’ve done some slight editing to break up my mile long paragraphs (a bad habit of mine).  Considering the worsening state of America’s partisan divides, we definitely need to learn how to “march under one flag” again, in fact, the divides have deepened and the wounds to our national soul fester, to the point our national character is on life support.  The remedy isn’t a more liberal America or a more conservative America, it’s building a belief in one AMERICA, where every American citizen believes in The Constiution and that we are all equal under the law.

March Under One Flag

Legends on the rise and fall of great societies permeate history with certain threads, like the demise of the common culture leading the list as one of the prime harbingers of “doom”.  Yes, that word “doom” comes to mind quite frequently,  presaging our presumed ineluctable fated demise.  Warning signs, both large and small, abound, blaring out endless streams of our culture and Judeo-Christian value system in full retreat to the relentless moral relativist message.

Some retreat for public relations reasons, like Wal-mart this past weekend (story here).  The EBT system  failed last Saturday in 17 states, leading to EBT recipients debit cards showing no limits.  News reports indicate that in several states Wal-mart stores were crammed with customers filling slews of shopping carts with groceries and “checking out”, swiping their EBT card, which they knew did not have the funds to cover the amount of groceries “purchased” (stolen).  The corollary would be long ago when people used personal checks more often and supposing you wrote a check for your purchases knowing you did not have money to cover the purchase.

There’s no difference besides the fact that media handlers will guide Wal-mart and the image of Wal-mart tracking down “poor people” for criminal prosecution over this blatant thievery might look like the giant retailer is picking on the little people.  Wal-mart will likely end up eating this loss and due to American social conditioning, way too many people will use moral relativism to guide their moral reasoning in the matter – saying things like “Wal-mart can afford it” or “Wal-mart screws over the little guy all the time so turn around is fair play”.  Sure, in this case some Wal-mart management in the affected states made the call to let the sales go through rather than stop the theft and they failed to follow the proper procedure in place to call Xerox when EBT cards aren’t working properly.

In this same above-mentioned scenario the more disturbing behavior is that of the crowds of people who flooded Wal-mart stores to steal food in broad daylight, with no moral hesitation.  The problem with government hand-outs is the people start beginning to believe these programs really are “entitlements” and thus they never spend a moment’s notice wondering about taking other people’s money as their own, nor do they worry about stealing food from Wal-mart.

Taking stuff that is not yours is stealing, no matter the twisted semantics used to rationalize it.  To delve further into this moral relativist hellish enslavement of the mind I urge you to read the article Justin linked in a comment here yesterday, “Contemporary Liberal Doublethink: Welfare = Self-Reliance”.  The thieves in this scenario won’t bother to “think or reason” about their thievery, no, these are pack animals – used to being led, with no will to think for themselves nor will they ponder things like civic duty, aspiring to become better human beings or much beyond their instant gratification.

PJ Media offered this truly excellent piece written by a writer who pens under the pseudonym, Bookworm, titled “The Surprising Reason Americans Are Vulnerable to Moral Relativism”, which although lengthy, definitely rates the time.  This writer posits that our American embrace of Anne Frank’s idealistic belief: “I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.”, creates a syllogism as described in this passage:

“Thanks to those words, Americans accept that “people are truly good at heart.” This belief creates a syllogism, one that sees Americans claiming that it must be a lie when someone dares to claim that another group doesn’t meet certain moral absolutes. How can there be moral absolutes when all “people are truly good at heart”?”

The author goes on to explain why Anne Frank’s simple idealistic belief was not only wrong in her own personal life, where she perished in the Holocaust, but it is simply wrong for mankind, in general.   People aren’t truly good at heart – that part takes a great deal of civilizing effort, both in the home and in society in general, hence we used to call it “civil society”.

Aristotle offered his definition, “a shared set of norms and ethos, in which free citizens on an equal footing lived under the rule of law”, which puts us on firmer footing than most of the opining from American academics in recent decades.  We need that shared set of norms and ethos as the glue to hold our splintering, divided country together.  Cutting through the leftist doublethink presents a daunting challenge, but unless we commit to “winning the hearts and minds” of Americans on the importance of being “good citizens”, where “rights” rest right next to “civic duty”, we’ll continue to drift, creating an ever-widening no man’s land, rather than to use a military metaphor and which I use as my gravatar, “march under one flag”.

We must become a country under one flag again – we must become American citizens first, political partisans second.

The “alt-right” around every corner….

The alt-right is the new broad brush the Clinton meme-makers want to hype to paint Trump as a “fascist”. That Trump hesitated to disavow white nationalists early on and made very incendiary comments falls on Trump’s own shoulders, but I think it’s important to be careful not to buy into the idea that every person who voted for Trump in the Republican primary is a rabid, closet alt-right racist.

Certainly, white nationalists have merged to vocally support Trump, in fact, I witnessed alt-right attacks a few times on Disqus comments at National Review, where a group of alt-right commenters showed up and were posting anti-Semitic and racist stuff non-stop for hours, completely shutting down any conversation by other commenters. The moderators after one attack said they had deleted thousands of posts during that attack. And the attacks at National Review that I witnessed were in the comment section for Jonah Goldberg’s column, with many of the anti-Semitic comments aimed directly at Goldberg.

So, while I think it’s important to denounce white nationalists and any other hate-mongering groups, like Black Lives Matter, it’s also important not to buy into the Clinton SPIN machine’s GROSS exaggerations.

Here’s my cautionary note about Hillary and her alt-right fear-mongering. The Clintons (and Democrats) love to paint conservatives, Evangelical Christians, people who own guns, former soldiers, people who talk about The Constitution too much (more than they prefer) and anyone who refuses to embrace their Lefist agenda as part of some nebulous army of “vast, far-right extremists”.

During the 1990s the Clinton administration hyped the
“right-wing militia” threat way out of proportion, while dangerously downplaying Islamic terrorist threats, even after Islamic terrorist attacks against American interests and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. There was Oklahoma City, so yes, there were some dangerous militia groups, although if my memory is correct, it was only a few people who were behind the OKC bombing, I think, not some vast army.

I believe the Clinton administration grossly exaggerated the “right-wing militia” threat for their partisan political purposes.

A Smell the Leather Moment

This is one of those “smell the leather” moments.  In the early 80s, my husband and I had our oldest daughter’s baby pictures taken at a portrait studio. We were sitting there looking over the proofs and the salesman was trying to work in those tie-in sales, like a lovely photo album.

Being young and trusting, the salesman, seeing an easy mark, held the photo album up and said to me, “It’s real leather, here smell it.”  My husband sat there stone-faced and the salesman, addressed every sales pitch at me, while nervously glancing at my husband occasionally.

I obediently complied, but my husband had had enough and he told the salesman, we just wanted the portrait package I had picked out. In the car, my husband kept saying, “It’s real leather, smell it” and giving me this look of pity.

Of course, I thought my husband was overreacting, but as I thought over the incident later, I realized that salesman had figured out that I was the easy mark and that’s why he focused his efforts on me and not on my husband.

I became a tougher judge of obvious cons after that, but you can never live down stuff like that, so he still mentions that occasionally, when my bleeding-heart tendencies obstruct cold, hard reality

We are now approaching Trump’s “smell the leather” moment, where even most of his most ardent followers are going to realize they’ve been conned by the “great” Trump.

Trump met with Hispanic leaders yesterday, Univision reports:

“Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump plans to present an immigration plan in Colorado Thursday that will include finding a way to legalize millions of undocumented immigrants, according to three people who attended a meeting between the candidate and Hispanic leaders on Saturday at Trump Tower in New York.”

http://www.univision.com/univi…

Can’t wait to see what Trump announces Thursday.

Last night Trump had a rally in Fredricksburg, VA and played to his base (at 34:33 in the above video) and cheered, “Build That Wall” along with the crowd.

Imploding soon…. either the hordes revolt at being played or they remain 5th Avenue Loyalists and follow Trump over the cliff….

It’s still a slow motion train wreck, but no one can look away.

“Post-reality” America: a Path to Perdition

I wrote the following in a comment in an online discussion elsewhere, but decided to post it here.  I’ve used the B.H. Liddell Hart quote before, but it bears repeating.  I’ve been very concerned about the acceptance of lying as no big deal, by too many Americans, our politicians and especially by the news media, for decades.  When I first heard the Clinton “war room” normalizing “spin” and the liberal media using that term as if it was some sort of clever media strategy and not an affront to American civic values, the rule of law and even to their journalistic ethics, I was dismayed.  Journalists should be seekers of the facts.  They should be digging for the who, what, when, where, why and how on the matters they report.  Here’s my comment:

“Civilization is built on the practice of keeping promises. It may not sound a high attainment, but if trust in its observance be shaken the whole structure cracks and sinks. Any constructive effort and all human relations – personal, political, and commercial – depend on being able to depend on promises.”

– B.H. Liddell Hart, “Why We Don’t Learn From History”

Sorry, I went really long again, so if you don’t want to wade through this – the main gist is lying is not just a personal character flaw – it’s a battering ram smashing against the pillars of our republic.

That phrase “post-reality” speaks to a very dangerous, horrific state of being and when it’s being imposed with the power of the state, you’re looking at a totalitarian nightmare.  The hijacking of words that matter and completely turning them on their heads has been the goal of communists since the early part of the last century and for American Alinskyite/Marxists in America to continue that long march leaves us headed down a very dark road.

Living in a “post-reality” America is where we’ve allowed the very underpinnings of our republic to be corrupted.  When words lose their meaning, so does the rule of law and so does our societal cohesiveness, because the common ground necessary to keep our republic girded against collapse or anarchy, rests on a shared understanding of our shared civic values.

The technology of the past century fueled mass media and our ability to communicate with others, to levels never imagined, but it has also fostered an ability for those with power and money to engage in mass deception and massively corrupt the American character (and not just Hollywood).  It moved from the media blithely talking about Clinton “spin” (deliberate lying by politicians) to the Obama “narratives”, where the President of the United States has the executive branch busily rewriting facts to create a fictional version of events.

It’s so pervasive in the Obama administration, that they are purging official records, editing out portions of video from news briefings and obstructing justice whenever asked to produce records to Congress or the courts.  That is the executive branch deliberately usurping the other two branches of the federal government’s power to check executive power and it should alarm everyone.

For journalists to utter the words “the administration’s narrative” is an affront to journalistic integrity, where the goal is supposed to be to report: who, what, when, where, why, and how.

The media helped the Obama administration and liberal loons spread that “narrative”, to alter the public perception of the Orlando terrorist attack, into being the result of “Christian bigotry and hate” in just two weeks.  Ferguson gave us “hands up, don’t shoot” – a total lie and even more disturbing in Ferguson is the fact that there were dozens of witnesses to this incident of a white cop in an altercation with a young black man and not a single cell phone video has ever made it out into the public.  That is a community willing to LIE and HIDE evidence of the truth from law enforcement, because many of these people were interviewed by police and the district attorney’s office.  C’mon dozens of witnesses in a black community watching this white cop and young black man and no one pulled out a cell phone and videotaped it???

The FBI Director went on national TV and gave a list of very serious offenses and he then dismissed it as “extremely careless” handling of sensitive information, which is “grossly negligent” and even now Hillary, not only continues to lie about her email server, she’s even begun to lie about what Comey said.  She has an army of political operatives and friends in the media spreading and bolstering her lies.  She knows if she repeats the lies often enough, they will become the reality.  It’s wholesale public corruption.

Trump doesn’t have the vast political operation of the Clinton machine yet, but he’s borrowed their talking points/scorched earth strategy to win, win, win.  He blithely throws out smears, no matter their veracity, and his followers cheer that he is willing to sink as low as the Clintons.  If he acquires the power of the presidency, he will be just like the Clintons.  He hasn’t shown any remorse about using the Carville approach of throwing as much dirt as you can and hoping some of it sticks.

Hillary and Trump’s lying aren’t just bad personal character traits.  Their lying creates large numbers of partisans engaged in, not only believing their lies, but hordes of their political followers, operatives, friends in the media and political allies jump into action to bolster, prop-up, repeat, defend their lies.  It rapidly corrupts America and it feeds the rabid factionalization that is destroying America.
