Fears and worst fears

After two years of the mainstream media and Dems breathlessly reporting that, this time really is “the beginning of the end” of Trump’s presidency, perhaps Robert Mueller might be winding toward the end of his Russian interference in 2016 investigation.  These #Resist spin mouthpieces have set the stage for massive unrest among the #Resist loyalists, if Mueller fails to deliver the blow that fells Trump’s presidency.  Some sort of consolation prize, “he acted corruptly, but not enough to warrant a criminal prosecution”, will not satisfy their thirst for Trump to be vanquished from the public square.

With Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, striking a plea deal with Mueller’s team and recent revelations about Trump actively pursuing a Russian real estate deal for a Trump Tower Moscow, in 2016, as he was at the same time running for president, it’s clear Trump lied repeatedly, when he claimed he had no dealings with Russia.  How far up and how deep were Trump’s Russian ties remains unclear, but Trump admitted to and airily dismissed the efforts to make a real estate deal with Russia in 2016.

The revelation of the Cohen assertion about a Trump/Russia deal effort in 2016 and Trump’s response to that assertion explains everything about how Trump operates.  He follows the same spin playbook as the Clintons – deny, when lies are exposed dismiss, deflect and project back at your accusers.  Trump has mastered Hillary’s “victim of a political witch hunt” spin game and it’s still working for him with his loyal followers.

Regardless of what facts Mueller’s investigation exposes, the Trump Spin Force  will automatically dismiss, deflect and defiantly delegitimize Mueller’s report and findings as nothing more than a partisan witch hunt.

If these two sides, readying for an epic spin battle, aren’t enough, there’s also the House Republicans waging one more, last-ditch effort, to uncover the facts surrounding the Comey FBI and Obama top intelligence people embracing the Steele dossier, a Clinton & DNC funded opposition research effort, despite being unable to independently verify it.  It seems likely the House Republicans also have some questions for Comey regarding his handling of the Clinton email and Foundation pay-to-play investigations.

Finally, there are the House Dems compiling a massive investigative schedule to bury the Trump administration in subpoenas and enough negative press to completely immobilize the Trump White House.  While Mueller has remained silent and we still don’t really know what his findings are, the House Dems will be running their “investigations” in the most grandstanding way possible, with the mainstream media aiding and abetting sensationalizing every allegation, no matter how flimsy the evidence.  While Trump laments the Mueller investigation as a “witch hunt”,  the truth is Trump’s about to find out what a real political witch hunt looks like, as the House Dems wage nuclear level spin attacks on him.

While, sometime very soon the media and political pundits expect some sort of massive “shit show”, being the term tossed around frequently, with these many forces at play in this never-ending 2016 scorched earth spin battle, it seems likely to me, America will be in dire straits.   Unchecked, self-destructive, partisan information warfare will leave only smoldering ashes of our decimated political system.  As I’ve warned for years, there will be no winners in America’s epic spin information war… except for America’s enemies.

A personality like Trump, being cornered and perhaps facing “losing bigly”, well, he won’t be graciously stepping down.  As his admirers tout… “he’s a disruptor”, so how far he’ll go, to take down the whole American political system, remains an open question.  My worst fear remains that, if both the massive Trump and massive Clinton 2016 corruption ever get totally exposed, America’s worst nightmare will be Trump and the Clintons uniting to save themselves from ruin.

Sounds crazy, I know, but that’s where I worry America will end up… trapped in spin hell with Hillary and Trump colluding to silence the truth.

Lewinsky dishes

Twenty years later…

Monica Lewinsky now admits President Bill Clinton asked her to lie about having an affair to avoid being deposed by Special Counsel, Ken Starr:

“In the final part of the A&E docuseries “The Clinton Affair,” Lewinsky revealed that Clinton convinced her to deny the affair if she was called to testify in the Paula Jones case. The 45-year-old recalled the former president telling her that she could avoid being deposed if she denied the affair in an affidavit.

James Comey’s Clinton Foundation investigation cover-up caper

Just as a memory refresher, let’s go back to June 2016, when Bill Clinton met with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Arizona.  What followed was a loud cry about an appearance of impropriety, Lynch insisting the meeting was a non-political chat about grandchildren, etc. and then Lynch made the announcement that she would not recuse herself from the Clinton email investigation, but instead she would rely on FBI director, James Comey’s recommendations.  This meeting set in motion the FBI interview of Hillary on a 4th of July weekend.

In September 2016, the FBI released the notes from Hillary’s FBI interview and as I had begun reading these FBI notes on the email investigation, the redactions seemed odd to me. I blogged about this and tweeted about it too.  In Hillary’s interview, I wrote:

wp-1473174957055.jpg
Above is the first paragraph of the FBI Interview Notes.  It lists Hillary Clinton’s attorneys present for this interview.  One name is redacted and one can only wonder why?

On July 2, 2016, the New York Times reported:

Accompanying Mrs. Clinton into the meeting were her lawyer David E. Kendall; Cheryl D. Mills and Heather Samuelson, longtime aides who are also lawyers; and two lawyers from Mr. Kendall’s firm, Williams & Connolly, Katherine Turner and Amy Saharia.

Eight officials from the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice conducted the interview, according to a person who was familiar with the substance of the session but declined to be named because the meeting was private. This person characterized the meeting as “civil” and “businesslike.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/03/us/politics/hillary-clinton-fbi-emails.html?_r=1

So, was the other attorney Amy Saharia, as the New York Times reported back in July, or was it someone else?  Why on earth redact the name, if it was Saharia???

There are several redactions on who was present from the DOJ.  The FBI Notes list two people from the DOJ/FBI side and have three names redacted, which comes to 5 names, although the NY Times story says there were 8 DOJ/FBI people present, so who are 3 redacted names + 3 others mentioned in the NY Times story???   Even if that one long block of redaction, after David Laufman’s name is more than one name, we are still left with knowing only 2 names of who was present from the FBI/DOJ and leaves SIX unknowns. Something is very wrong when you compare the NY Times report to the FBI Notes.

https://libertybellediaries.com/2016/09/06/who-was-there/

I went back to looking at news reporting after Hillary’s FBI interview and Team Clinton, predictably had given an exclusive interview to Clinton/Dem media SPIN king, Chuck Todd.

I kept wondering why on earth the FBI redacted only one name of Clinton’s legal team and why on earth would that name be Amy Saharia, when the Clintons released her name to the New York Times in July, so it wasn’t like it was a secret.  Then I kept wondering why would Bill Clinton risk that personal meeting with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in AZ, when if the only thing to iron out was a date and time for Hillary to do a FBI interview.  Well, there had to be some details that Bill Clinton wanted to convey personally to a trusted Clinton crony, like Loretta Lynch.  I strongly suspect that Bill Clinton arranged for either himself or a another trusted Clinton crony to be present for Hillary’s interview, to make sure nothing went wrong.  I’ve always wondered about someone, perhaps like Eric Holder, whom none of the FBI or DOJ officials would dream of questioning or crossing.

And I believe that FBI interview of Hillary put James Comey in an even more totally compromised position, but he made his decision to go with the Clinton narrative when he made his statement on July 5, 2016.  He spent about 15 minutes chronicling grossly negligent handling of classified information, followed by making up new law and excuses to exonerate Hillary.  He decided to go along with the Clinton corruption, probably assuming Hillary would be his next boss.

On that same day in July, Hillary Clinton was on Air Force One with President Obama heading to their first joint campaign event.

What we don’t know is when those several FBI field office investigations into Clinton Foundation corruption began and when James Comey knew about them.

That timeline would assuredly tell us if Comey got sucked into the Clinton corruption or if he was already working hard to cover up Clinton corruption under investigation in several FBI field offices.  The Hillary interview was in July 2016 and in October 2016 Comey reopened the email investigation.  On November 2, 2016 Bret Baier at FOX News reported:

Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier reports the latest news about the Clinton Foundation investigation from two sources inside the FBI. He reveals five important new pieces of information in these two short clips:

1. The Clinton Foundation investigation is far more expansive than anybody has reported so far and has been going on for more than a year.

2. The laptops of Clinton aides Cherryl Mills and Heather Samuelson have not been destroyed, and agents are currently combing through them. The investigation has interviewed several people twice, and plans to interview some for a third time.

3. Agents have found emails believed to have originated on Hillary Clinton’s secret server on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. They say the emails are not duplicates and could potentially be classified in nature.

4. Sources within the FBI have told Baier that an indictment is “likely” in the case of pay-for-play at the Clinton Foundation, “barring some obstruction in some way” from the Justice Department.

5. FBI sources say with 99% accuracy that Hillary Clinton’s server has been hacked by at least five foreign intelligence agencies, and that information have been taken from it.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/11/02/fbi_sources_tell_fox_news_indictment_likely_in_clinton_foundation_case.html

This report would indicate the FBI’s Clinton Foundation investigation was ongoing before the July 2016 FBI interview of Hillary and the FBI was sitting on Bill Clinton’s personal Clinton Foundation server, which Hillary had merged her State Dept emails onto and all those disappearing emails didn’t ring any alarm bells at the highest level of the FBI???

In October 2016, when the leaks started coming out about the Clinton Foundation criminal investigations and the Weiner laptop, Comey and McCabe worked to silence the leaks and COVER-UP for the Clintons.  Comey reopened the email investigation strictly as a damage control effort, so he could pronounce a thorough investigation had occurred.  He was all-in on covering up for the Clintons.

When the DOJ IG investigated the email investigation, Comey hung McCabe out to dry and said he didn’t know anything about McCabe authorizing FBI leaks to do damage control on the leaks coming out of NY about the Clinton Foundation investigations.  McCabe said Comey was aware of it and it seems certain Comey knew all about it, because he was helping orchestrate the cover-up and trying to bury the Clinton Foundation investigations, just like he buried the email investigation.

James Comey, what a stand-up guy…

More pondering about the Trump/Russian Collusion story

A few things have been bugging me since I wrote my last blog post.  Here are a few quick thoughts.

In the 8/9/18 John Soloman piece in The Hill quoted in this blog post something keeps bothering me about how the Obama DOJ and FBI handled information coming from Glenn Simpson, Christopher Steele and now we find out DNC-linked lawyer, Michael Sussmann too.  What did the FBI actually do to try to verify this information?  James Comey and other top Obama officials have often stated some of the Steele dossier is verified, however none of them or the Dem spinmeisters ever mention anything except the Trump Golden Showers and Cohen in Prague.

Now, with this Soloman report on Bruce Ohr’s testimony, well, here’s the part that struck me as bizarre:

“A couple of the experts flagged that most of what Simpson allegedly told Ohr was not from Moscow — where the alleged plot was supposed to be based — but from a reported Russian in the United States who later seemed to disappear, according to Ohr’s notes.”

https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/401185-the-handwritten-notes-exposing-what-fusion-gps-told-doj-about-trump

Did Ohr relay this information to the FBI?  Did the FBI try to identify and locate this Russian source in America?  If so, what did they find out?  If not, well, why the hell not?

It just seems like these top people in the Obama DOJ and FBI were intent on investigating only the Trump campaign and willing to use Hillary campaign/DNC op dirt as the flimsy pretext to do so.

As each little bit of truth gets exposed, it looks more and more like an orchestrated effort to take down Trump and once Trump was elected, Comey, Clapper, Brennan appear to have become key players in the effort to destroy Trump’s presidency, by any means necessary.  For a long time, I believed there had to be some legitimate intelligence they were using, but it’s looking more and more like they relied solely on Clinton/DNC op dirt filtered to them through Steele, Simpson and now we find out about this DNC-connected lawyer Michael Sussmann.

And at the same time Comey was peddling this Steele/Simpson dirt, he was working to shut down the field office investigations into the Clinton Foundation.  That quickie Weiner laptop investigation was a PR move to give cover that the FBI had “thoroughly” investigated that laptop and “nothing to see here”, which went with the Clinton SPIN that poor Huma had no idea those emails were backing up to the Weiner home laptop.  Comey let McCabe take the hit in the IG investigation into the email investigation.  McCabe said Comey was aware of the FBI leak efforts to counter the leaks coming out of NY about the FBI criminal investigations into the Clinton Foundation in several states.

Comey was the one who briefed Trump about the Steele dossier dirt, then Comey was the one to keep talking to Trump privately reassuring Trump that he wasn’t the target of an investigation, stringing Trump along and trying to incriminate him.  Then Comey immediately typed up his memos of what Trump had said, only instead of  acknowledging those were official FBI business, Comey sent those memos to his friend, to leak to the media.  At this point, I don’t believe much that James Comey says.  I think Comey lied… A LOT.

In Trump/Russian Collusion narrative all roads lead back to the Clintons

If you’re wondering how I skipped writing any blog posts about the Dems vicious smear campaign against Brett Kavanaugh, well the truth is I’ve been pretty active on Twitter offering my opinions daily and since I still have to take care of my husband and get some chores done around the house, I didn’t have the time or energy to focus on writing blog posts too.  Now that things seem to have settled down a bit, I’m going to try to get some blog posts written.

Hillary Clinton, our own Catherine de’ Medici, gave a very creepy interview to Christiane Amanpour, stating Democrats can’t be civil now, well just watch her eyes as she carefully enunciates every word.

Hillary is on the warpath.

Brett Kavanaugh worked for Ken Starr on the Clinton Impeachment investigation, so this was a very personal defeat for her.

All of the vicious, orchestrated media SPIN attacks on Kavanaugh by Dems looked like vintage Carville-type character assassination efforts from the Clinton machine.  The Dems weren’t out just to stop Kavanaugh from being confirmed to sit on the Supreme Court; they wanted to destroy his life completely.

So, we’ve got Hillary on the warpath, while the truth behind the Steele dossier SPIN effort unravels more each week.

On October 4, 2018, the former top lawyer for the FBI, James Baker, testified to Congress that Michael Sussmann, a lawyer with Perkins Coie, approached him with documents  and computer storage devices  on Russian hacking and Russian election meddling.

Perkins Coie is the law firm that was reported to have hired and paid GPS Fusion, who in turn hired Steele to investigate Trump’s activities in Russia.  Perkins Coie worked for the DNC and Hillary campaign:

“Sources familiar with Baker’s testimony to the House Judiciary and House Oversight & Government Reform Committees tell The Daily Caller News Foundation that he said Sussmann approached him for the meeting, which occurred in late summer or early fall 2016.

The meeting took place before the FBI submitted an application for its first FISA warrant against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. That warrant application, which was granted on Oct. 21, 2016, relied heavily on unverified allegations made in the report authored by former British spy Christopher Steele.

Steele had been hired by Fusion GPS in June 2016 to investigate Trump.

It is unclear exactly what information Sussmann, a former Justice Department prosecutor, provided to Baker and whether any of it related to the dossier. Sources tell TheDCNF that Baker testified that he did not read through the documents. He also testified that the meeting was atypical.

Sussmann, a former cybercrimes prosecutor, led the DNC’s effort to respond to Russian cyber attacks during the 2016 campaign. Sussmann helped hire CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm that identified Russia as being behind the intrusion.”

https://dailycaller.com/2018/10/04/fbi-dnc-lawyer-russia-2016-election/

So, this DNC/Clinton-connected lawyer, Michael Sussmann hand-delivered information to the top lawyer at the FBI before the Carter Page FISA warrant application and this same lawyer led the DNC’s efforts to respond to Russian cyber attacks during 2016 and helped hire CrowdStrike, rather than turn the DNC servers over to FBI investigators...  I recall James Comey struggling for an explanation for why this happened.  1/10/17 report from The Hill:

“The FBI requested direct access to the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) hacked computer servers but was denied, Director James Comey told lawmakers on Tuesday.

The bureau made “multiple requests at different levels,” according to Comey, but ultimately struck an agreement with the DNC that a “highly respected private company” would get access and share what it found with investigators.

“We’d always prefer to have access hands-on ourselves if that’s possible,” Comey said, noting that he didn’t know why the DNC rebuffed the FBI’s request.”

The director was testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee in a rare open session on Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election.”

https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/313555-comey-fbi-did-request-access-to-hacked-dnc-servers

Then when Trump won the election, Glenn Simpson met with Bruce Ohr and provided Ohr with every uncorroborated bit of dirt GPC Fusion and Christopher Steele developed.  Reading this 8/9/18 piece by John Soloman, the Simpson/Steele allegations cover all the big news media Trump/Russian collusion “explosive reports”. It’s obvious Dem operatives were coordinating these SPIN media attacks against Trump to feed their #Resist effort, incite Trump and keep Republicans divided.

However, even more disturbing is all roads in the Trump/Russian collusion story lead back the Clinton campaign/Dem operatives.  Even the touted former Russian intelligence officer cited in the Howard Blum Vanity Fair piece, according to Bruce Ohr’s notes, appears to have been in the US, not Moscow…  John Soloman explains:

“Those are just some of the highlights from the day that Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson — paid by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to find dirt on her GOP rival — met secretly with a top Justice Department official, right after Trump won the 2016 election.

And all of it was captured in the official’s handwritten notes — a contemporaneous record that intelligence professionals tell me exposes the flaws plaguing the early Russia collusion case.

For example, Simpson told then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr during the Dec. 10, 2016, meeting in a Washington coffee shop that he believed Trump’s longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, was the “go-between from Russia to the Trump campaign.”

Yet, Simpson allegedly acknowledged that most of the information Fusion GPS and British intelligence operative Christopher Steele developed did not come from sources inside Moscow. “Much of the collection about the Trump campaign ties to Russia comes from a former Russian intelligence officer (? not entirely clear) who lives in the U.S.,” Ohr scribbled in his notes.”

https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/401185-the-handwritten-notes-exposing-what-fusion-gps-told-doj-about-trump

The Soloman article is full of fascinating bits of information.  So, the former Russian intelligence officer wasn’t in Moscow???  He was in the US and no one knows who he is???  The FBI didn’t try to figure this out immediately???  If you have some spare time, juxtapose these reports with the October 31, 2016,  David Corn, Dem sleaze spinmeister, account:

A Veteran Spy Has Given the FBI Information Alleging a Russian Operation to Cultivate Donald Trump

There’s also the April 2017 Vanity Fair piece by Howard Blum, hailing David Corn’s journalistic excellence:

HOW EX-SPY CHRISTOPHER STEELE COMPILED HIS EXPLOSIVE TRUMP-RUSSIA DOSSIER

All I can say at this point, in the Trump/Russian collusion mystery, all roads don’t lead to Russia… they lead back to the Clintons.

Enabling the corruption to continue

Yesterday, began with numerous top White House officials releasing public statements denying authorship of the NYT anonymous op-ed detailing the chaos and unfitness for office of President Trump.  Each denial serves as a building block of The Wall of top administration officials, who will now work harder to defend and protect this president from his detractors and from impeachment, if that comes.

These people, whether fully conscious of the long-term ramifications of these public statements,  now have placed their own credibility more firmly behind President Trump and against both the anonymous op-ed writer and the charges of gross unfitness for office laid out in this op-ed.  These people have now openly entwined their personal integrity with President Trump’s.  No one stepped forward and said any of the statements in the op-ed letter were true.  Their statements of support for the president, actually worked to disavow the veracity of the op-ed accounting.

Several pundits and politicians urged the op-ed writer to go public and testify to Congress under oath, so that the charges can be investigated.  That would be the honorable and brave thing to do, because it seems highly likely, in this political and rapidly spinning information environment, that the identity will be revealed sooner rather than later.

Honor is a rare and often lonely path to follow.

President Trump reminds me of a store manager I worked for.  Before President Trump came on the scene, I thought this store manager was the most toxic leader I had ever seen.  Along with being  a thoroughly toxic manager of people, he was also the most talented merchandiser I had ever seen.  Often I thought, “With just a tiny bit of integrity, he could be the best store manager in that retail chain.”

Likewise, with some integrity, President Trump could actually be a “great” president, but the way he operates – playing his team members against each other, lying constantly, manipulating everyone around him and his refusal to listen to anyone, all spell doom for his achieving “great” things.  He, just like that store manager, is his own worst enemy.

I worked in a subordinate managerial position and felt this store manager wanted me gone from the moment he arrived as a store manager.  The thing is, I, and many others in this store, knew this guy well, as he had worked in our store as a store co-manager a few years before, after he had been demoted from being a store manager at another store.  We got to see his corrupt way of operating many, many times.

The incident that sticks in my mind is this guy, was working the overnight shift as the co-manager, and one morning I went into the back room to throw some trash away in the baler.  He was standing there with his cellphone in hand, laughing and bragging that he had just sent pictures to the market manager of all the things that were screwed up in the store and the fault of the store manager.  He was trying to get the store manager in trouble.

The store manager asked this co-manager to be the best man at his wedding and I assume that store manager believed this guy was his friend, because this co-manager always acted like he and the store manager were old friends.

Long story short, that store manager did get fired and I never forgot how this co-manager operated, so I was uneasy when I found out he was coming back to be our store manager.  I knew he wanted me gone about a month after he became our store manager, when I was given my annual evaluation.  In more than a decade at this store, most of it in supervisory positions, I had always received exceeds expectations evals.

This eval was a “needs improvement” and I was both dismayed and confused as the assistant manager read through my eval.  I asked several questions about why I was getting such low ratings and on one metric, this assistant manager told me that I had failed to coach a department manager about the high number of out-of-stock items in her department.  Never once in the previous year had this assistant manager or any other manager suggested that I should coach this long-time department manager, who was a prima donna in the store and who salaried managers allowed to do whatever she wanted.   Even more bizarre was not long before my evaluation, I sat in, as this very assistant manager gave this department manager her glowing exceeds expectations annual evaluation and he apologized to her that he wasn’t able to give her the highest “role model” evaluation, because the store manager would not approve any of those.  He assuredly did not mention her high number of out-of-stock items.

I mentioned that and this assistant manager just stuck to, “oh well” attitude.  I used the open door policy and talked to a co-manager about my evaluation and told her I did not understand why I was being trashed in this evaluation, even though I knew that with a needs improvement eval, a few months down the road, I would be reevaluated and if deemed still below par, I would be terminated.  This co-manager changed my evaluation to a meets expectations.

A few days later she pulled me aside and told me how the store manager flew into a rage about her changing my evaluation and she told me she believed he wanted her gone too.  She resigned and left shortly thereafter, because in her words, she couldn’t deal with his  “reign of terror.”

The thing about working for an extremely toxic leader is they don’t bully, harass and intimidate just one person.  I was not the first, last or only person this store manager made a target to eliminate.  He targeted associates and managers constantly and he manipulated or intimidated other managers to participate in his unethical behavior.  He delighted in playing managers against each other.

Many times associates complained higher up and one time a department manager even called Human Resources higher than our market level.  That human resource manager came with an asset protection manager to conduct interviews with associates privately and also some group sessions to discuss the work atmosphere in the store.

Nothing happened to that store manager and he continued as before, only worse, as he targeted people he believed were snitches.  He surrounded himself with only managers who would do his bidding, unquestioned, and who would operate just like him.  He corrupted everyone who stayed working close to him, because he spewed a constant stream of  bs to rationalize the unethical conduct.  Sadly, many of the managers quickly learned to act just like him.

I put in my two-week notice when he ordered me to write-up an elderly black associate for not getting enough work done.  He made motions of hunching his shoulders and walking like an ape, telling me that is how she moves.  He was red in the face with rage as he bellowed , “I want her coached TODAY!”  I had gone in early that morning to work on a shelf reset and I was rushing to clean up, because the market manager was coming to visit our store that morning.

The rule was all the pallets in the back room had to be binned in and off the floor in the morning.  A manager informed me there were several pallets of freight belonging to my departments that the overnight stockers hadn’t even worked.

A little while later, a woman who had been a co-manager in our store, but had been out on sick leave, came back and was in limbo working in our store, came to tell me that the store manager told her to get down several old overstock pallets of back-to-school merchandise from on top of the steel bins, for me to work that day.  I looked at this woman, who did whatever the store manager told her to do, no questions asked, and told her that I already had several unworked pallets of new freight the overnight stockers hadn’t worked.  I asked her why on earth he wanted old freight pulled down to clutter up the back room floor when the market manager was coming to visit our store soon.  She shrugged her shoulders and told me that’s what the store manager wanted.

During the market manager’s visit, the store manager called me to the stationery department, so the market manager could berate me in front of the management team.  I asked the market manager if I could speak to him privately and we walked a few yards away.  I told him I had faxed a letter to him months earlier about problems with management in our store.  He told me he hadn’t read it and the HR guy handles that.

That HR guy had been a store manager in our store 2 separate times over the many years I worked there.  He signed off on all the exceeds expectations evals I received and even more than that, whenever new programs were implemented that involved department managers, this HR guy would hand the written guidance and packet of information to me, ask me to read it and he told the other department managers, “Sue, will figure it out and train everyone on how it works.”  He did this several times.  With my letter months before, he called me once and was dismissive of my complaints about the store manager.

He knew this store manager and knew he had been in store manager positions before and bumped down several times.  Other associates told me they had contacted this HR guy too and complained about the store manager’s actions.

I put in my two-week notice and left.  That elderly associate was a long-time associate, who trained me how to zone when I first started working in that store.  She was a dedicated employee and a hard worker always.  The failure to get enough work done had nothing to do with her work habits and everything to do with the chaotic management style of the store manager, who constantly changed his mind about what he wanted done, when he wanted it done and he was forever sending subordinate managers around the store yanking associates and department managers and sending them on some other tasks that he wanted done immediately, while the work in their own departments was interrupted.

I had been down this road with this store manager about a year before, when I was a zone manager over the Hardlines side of the store and we were doing a lawn and garden Spring set.  He and his co-manager failed to supervise a new assistant manager, but let her run wild on taking charge of the Spring set.  She did not know what she was doing, she refused to listen to me or the lawn and garden department manager and she created huge messes as the reset progressed – pallets of freight everywhere on the patio, chaos inside too.  Each day, the co-manager bitched out me and the department manager about the escalating chaos, as if it was our fault.

That new assistant manager called me at home one evening and ordered me to come in to work overnight that night to work the new modular freight and she told me the department manager was coming in too.  She had gotten associates to pull out over 20 pallets of new mod freight.  As the night wore on, the department manager kept telling me there was no way we could work through all of these pallets, plus many of pallets had become overstock pallets of new mod freight that we worked and it didn’t fit on the shelves.  Starting after the overnight lunch hour (2 am-3 am) I began asking this assistant manager what her plan was to clear these pallets off the floor in the morning, because pallets have to be off the sales floor by 7 am.  She ignored me and ordered me to just stock.  I asked her a couple more times as the hours went by, because two major problems worried me.  There was nowhere in the back room for that many lawn and garden pallets and it would take a good while to pull that many pallets.  She had no plan.

The co-manager responsible for lawn and garden arrived a bit before 7 am and she chewed out the department manager and me about the chaos and she berated the department manager and told her she didn’t want to hear it, because the department manager didn’t do anything about scheduling more associates to work.  The truth was that the department manager and I were hourly employees.   Salaried management was 100% responsible for scheduling.  She was fuming at me and the department manager and she angrily told us that the store manager was going to have a fit when he saw the mess.

He did and he ordered me to write-up the department manager for failing to do her job and creating such a mess.  I refused and stepped down as a zone manager on the spot, while he and that co-manager berated me for not holding the department manager accountable or helping the assistant manager.  The truth was they both failed to do their jobs as salaried managers to train and supervise that assistant manager.

Throughout the days leading up to this, the department manager and I had tried to talk to this assistant manager, but she blew us off and ignored us completely.  When you do major department resets, it’s a recipe for failure if you begin the reset with not even a floor plan drawn up and haven’t read the modular cover sheets and diagram pages assessing the fixtures and manpower you’ll need.  I went back to being a department manager.

After the scene in the store manager’s office with that co-manager present, I went back to lawn and garden and spent several hours moving all of those pallets by myself.  That assistant manager, who created the chaos, had gone home to start her vacation, before I was even called into the store manager’s office.

When it was deja vu all over again, a year later, I refused to throw that elderly associate under the bus and when I told her I had put in my two-week notice and why, she said, “Sue, I’m right behind you.”  She put in her two-week notice too.

Back to our toxic leader-in-chief.  He is that store manager writ large.  Does President Trump have star power?  Absolutely.  Is he entertaining to watch?  Depends on taste, but there’s something riveting about his sideshow antics, that make him the star of any stage.  Could he be a “great” president, well, just like that store manager:

“With just a tiny bit of integrity, he could be the best store manager in that retail chain.”

Character really is destiny.

This anonymous op-ed pits one “senior administration official” against not only President Trump, but all those who have allowed themselves to be corrupted, by either turning a blind-eye to the president’s personal corruption or they’ve found ways “to manage” this president’s chaotic, amoral directives, by running this two-track presidency to prop him up.  None of them are abiding by their oath to protect The Constitution, because there is no “two-track” decision-making power in The Constitution.

They cast their lot with President Trump long before this op-ed letter.

To work around a corrupt manipulator like President Trump requires constantly sacrificing chunks of your personal integrity, as you either turn a blind-eye to the corruption, work to keep your distance from the corruption or make flimsy rationalizations that you’re working to a higher-purpose trying to contain the corruption.

The truth is they are enabling the corruption to continue, unchecked.

Weekend SPIN info war status report

President Trump engaged in an appalling Twitter tantrum yesterday, as former First Lady, Barbara Bush, was being laid to rest.  First Lady, Melania Trump, attended the memorial service, as did former presidents, Clinton, Obama and their wives and of course both Bush presidents were there.  The glaring absence was President Trump.

President Trump reacted like a kid, who wasn’t invited to the birthday party that all his peers were attending, by tweeting mean and petty attacks.  He was a child lashing out and I doubt he realizes how much he damages himself by continuing the petty name-calling and “Trump being Trump” tactic.  Long ago, I wrote that Trump made a big mistake being the one-man show hurling insults to run his scorched earth.  The Clintons always relied on Blumenthal’s sneaky planting dirt in the media and people like James Carville to be the attack dogs, so they never got their hands dirty.

Trump’s embrace of the vicious SPIN info war and being his own attack dog is a self-defeating tactic, if his goal is to be treated with respect befitting the President of the United States of America.  To be treated with respect demands you treat others with respect.  To ever hope to be treated as a great leader, means you learn to rise above the gutter and insults, and lead by example.

Way back in the beginning of Trump’s presidential run, I wrote often about how he learned how to use the Clinton SPIN information warfare tactics and due to a variety of factors, including Hillary Clinton’s own missteps, like not campaigning in key Rust Belt states to shore up support and calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables”, he won the election.  However, the Clintons, Democrats and many in the mainstream media, who run the Left’s SPIN info war were never going to allow Trump to be treated like a President of the United States.   They’ve waged the same relentless SPIN war against Trump that they ran against GW Bush, except it’s more intense.

Bill Clinton survived impeachment, leaving extreme partisan animus. However there wasn’t much love lost between Al Gore and Bill Clinton, so compared to the 2000 election loss, that partisan battle over the election results, was not as vicious as the battle over 2016.  2016 is deeply personal and Hillary Clinton has a well-seasoned information warfare apparatus, which has waged non-stop information warfare against President Trump.  Sid Blumenthal’s fingerprints are all-over the “Trump Russia Collusion” hysteria and the media recycling through the Dump on Trump spin attacks.

That Comey, Clapper and Brennan decided to sell Kremlin propaganda and disguise it as legitimate intelligence, along with selling Steele’s dossier as an intelligence report rather than as political opposition dirt needs to be investigated by the proper U.S. intelligence authorities.   The supposed credibility of the Steele dossier is that it came from high-level Kremlin sources.  Unpack that in your mind – the credibility , Comey, Clapper, Brennan, the Dems, and the mainstream media are relying on to prove “Trump Russian Collusion” came from the Kremlin…  The Steele dossier is Clinton/DNC Russian collusion.  That top U.S. intelligence officials would engage in a SPIN operation selling unverified Kremlin dirt is not only unethical, it’s a serious national security concern.

Even now, James Comey caveats the infamous alleged pee tape as unverified, but slyly hints that it might be true and that the Kremlin might have compromising information on Trump.  Reality check here – the Kremlin likely has compromising dirt on most high US officials and Western officials, because amassing dirt to engage in smear campaigns is the Kremlin’s information warfare modus operandi.  To have a former FBI director using Kremlin propaganda to destroy a duly elected American president is surreal.

President Trump rather than colluding with the Russians, appears to be a dupe, just as the Clintons are.   The Kremlin fed them the dirt for the Steele dossier and they swallowed it whole.

President Trump watches a lot of FOX news and gets a great deal of his SPIN attacks from FOX pundits.  I believe our counter-intelligence agencies should be looking closely at the FOX SPIN apparatus for hostile foreign intelligence connections.  Add Drudge Report to that concern, among several other Trump SPIN outlets.  Sadly, I have felt for a long time that the Clinton’s reliance on Blumenthal and several other shady operators surrounding them left them completely compromised and  some hostile foreign intelligence have access to all the inner-workings of the Clinton machine.

It’s way past time for America to defeat the corrupt, polarizing, destabilizing scorched earth SPIN information warfare being waged via America’s mass media outlets.  This isn’t about choosing between Trump or Hillary,  Republican or Democrat, it’s about deciding to promote being an American first and to work to promote pulling America’s moral center back to the middle, away from the extreme partisan fringes.  It’s about changing the tenor of our American political culture.  It’s about stopping the SPIN news cycle and teaching reporters, political leaders and the American people to begin the process of taking a deep breath and not jumping to conclusions or repeating every piece of sensationalized news which wafts across the news airwaves or internet superhighway.
