Now a short personal story on how computer inept yours truly really is.  For Christmas, I gave my four granddaughters Kindle Fire tablets.  As a loyal amazon customer, how could I pass up Kindle Fires for $49.99?  So, because I am an avid book collector (hoarder), there are hundreds of books on my kindle already, but in all fairness, many are free books from their classics listing or old history, that very few people want to read.

So, due to already having given my older two granddaughters plain kindle e-readers last year and linking those to my account, I had put a lot of books in my library for kids – to include many free classics that I deemed appropriate for their ages.  After a discussion with my daughter, we decided to link these Kindle Fires to my account and my library, but amazon has this “Family Library” you can set up, which my daughter did for me, but then she told me I would have to sort out which books I wanted to put in their libraries and that’s when the problems started.

I kept trying to remove my books from their libraries to no avail and then I decided that perhaps instead of “remove”, I should be hitting the “delete” books from the Family Library.  Of course, in my usual bumbling fashion, I deleted 616 of my books, believing that by removing them from the “Family Library” it was like removing books from my Kindle device – which archives them.

Nope, it deleted them permanently, so  I called amazon’s customer service.  The poor women talked me through deleting this “Family Library” but then we came to my books.  I asked her how to get my books back and at first she said I’d have to repurchase them and I said I’ve spent a lot of money on books for years.  Then she had to do some checking and she told me I had deleted 616 books and she asked me which ones I wanted back.  I responded, “All of them.”

This lady stayed polite and courteous, even though, as my son told me, “You know she hates you and everyone there is talking about how stupid you are, right?”  Justifiably so, but she did restore all of my books to my account and it took her quite a while, because she said there was no way to do them all at once and she’d have to do them one at a time.  She asked me if it was okay if she called me back when she was done.  And an hour later she called me back and told me all my books were restored and was very gracious and she sent a signed email message:

We’d appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

I’ve restored your access to “616 books,” which you previously purchased from the Kindle Store. It is now available to download from your Archived Items or Cloud tab on your device.  You can also download your content through the Manage Your Content and Devices page.

I am very grateful for that kind and warm approach you gave during the call. I’m glad I was able to help you out today.

I hope I was able to assist you today. Please use the links below to provide us your valuable feedback

I love Amazon.com and that lady deserves a raise!

Inciting terror…

During the Democrats’ Saturday night debate, scheduled at a time to depress viewers, Hillary Clinton launched another of her baseless charges against Donald Trump:

“Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took a hard stance against rhetoric from GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, painting him as a potent and powerful tool for ISIS.

“He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter. They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists,” Clinton said during Saturday’s Democratic debate, hosted by ABC News.”https://wordpress.com/post/libertybellediaries.com/6675

Let’s once and for all expose this kowtowing to terrorists for what it is – cowardice!  How this woman, who pushed for our disastrous war in Libya, which has spawned a jihadist nightmare in Libya  and who blamed the deaths of 4 Americans in Benghazi on some obscure video and “spontaneous” riot, rather than an organized group of jihadists, can now stand there with a straight face and declare Donald Trump’s speech dangerous defies logic.

What she and the Left constantly do is try to silence those who speak freely and express views that counter their PC pieties.  This particular fear-mongering tactic about “hate speech” toward Muslims fueling jihadism should be debunked once and for all.  What fuels jihadism is an Islamist religious ideology, not free speech in America.   Islamic radicals, Islamists, terrorists or whatever word you choose to describe these murderous barbarians act due to belief in a religious ideology, promoted by many Muslim religious leaders in mosques (religious meeting places).  Certainly, Islamic scholars and political figures aid and abet this rabid religious ideology, dressing it up as a political ideology too, but let’s be clear, when we say things like “Islam is a political ideology masquerading as a religion”, I suspect we have the historical antecedents in the wrong order – it was a religious ideology, which fueled a political system based on strict observance of those religious tenets.

In the West we have secular political systems with some roots in Christian religious beliefs, but our political systems are secular and pluralistic.   In America, we had a group of men sit down and study governments through history, debate the merits and pitfalls, write and rewrite a body of laws, representatives from the colonies met and debated our Constitution, and then compromised on contentious parts.  And finally they voted to adopt The Constitution, which has provisions to amend it.  Ours is a secular, man-made and  constructed political system, designed by free men, which has legitimacy only by the consent of the governed – we the people have the last say in the matter, because we are FREE.

Donald Trump’s rhetoric isn’t an ISIS recruiting tool!  Weak, bumbling American leadership, of which Hillary Clinton, played a starring role, has been the biggest ISIS recruiting tool!!!  President Obama pulled out of Iraq, leaving a gaping power vacuum, which allowed for ISIS to seize territory and set-up shop.  The glorious Arab Spring democracy project, full-throatedly supported by Madame Secretary, aided in the destabilization of the entire region and not content with fomenting chaos in Egypt and Libya, she went on to push for regime change in Syria too.  In Libya the Obama administration armed so-called “freedom-fighters”, which my suspicion, based on copious reporting,  is many were jihadists.  In Syria, the disastrous policy continued with this debate over arming “moderate Syrians”, which let’s be clear the rebels who rose up against Assad are Sunni Islamists of varying degrees of radicalization, but make no mistake about it, they are Islamists and none of them is much interested in setting up a Jeffersonian democracy if Assad is ousted.  There is no viable pro-democracy movement in Syria – the Islamists have the weapons (much of it provided courtesy of the USA) and control the rebel groups.

The reason ISIS is growing is because of weak, pathetic western indecisiveness, lethal political correctness and clueless, failed leadership, let me repeat, of which Madame Secretary played a starring role.  And then there’s the endless aiding, abetting and funding of Islamist extremists by Sunni state enablers, which in the case of ISIS, Turkey can be relied on to undercut, not only our efforts to roll back ISIS, but also to bomb the hell out of the Kurds at every turn, you know, those Kurds, whom Hillary and every other politician wants to be our boots on the ground to fight ISIS.  Yes, we’ve got Turkey, with Obama’s good friend, Erdogan, watching our back….

Trying to quell free speech out of fear of offending Muslims and setting them on the path to jihadism should be challenged as left-wing propaganda that aids Islamists.  Bowing down, because if we stand up and speak out we might make some Muslims mad and incite them to run off to join ISIS is ludicrous.  And beyond that it’s WEAKNESS and that is the biggest recruitment tool of all for thugs and terrorists.  It disgusted me when General Petraeus got personally invested in trying to infringe upon the free speech of that loony pastor, who was going to burn the Koran,  several years ago.  He should have been using that opportunity to champion free speech and our separation of church and state, but nope, he raised the PC false flag and with his band of PC fear-mongers marched forward.  Unless we can defend our values, we are doomed!  We must not bow down to the tyranny of Islamic terror, but even more than that we must not bow down to PC dogma, imposed on us by lying, conniving politicians and “experts from academia”, where we’re fed endless fear-mongering that erodes our very freedom – to move freely, to think freely and most importantly to forge ahead and speak freely in the public square.  Freedom is the strongest defense against tyranny of any kind!

Katerine Timpf at National Review wrote a piece on Hillary’s campaign trying to shut down a  video produced by a comedy club last month.  Timpf writes:

“Given that Hillary has had decades of political experience in this country, one would think that she’d know about the whole First Amendment thing by now. The freedom to make fun of and openly criticize our political leaders isn’t just a luxury, it’s an important part of our political system. It’s a crucial check on the power of our politicians that helps prevent them from getting to do whatever the hell they want.”

Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/427354/hillary-clinton-laugh-factory-comedians-threats?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=referral

The incident Timpf referenced was reported by Judicial Watch last month:

“The five short performances that Clinton wants eliminated include some profanity and portions could be considered crass, but some of the lines are funny and that’s what the Laugh Factory is all about. The video features the individual acts of five comedians, four men and a woman. The skits make fun of Clinton’s wardrobe, her age, sexual orientation, the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the former First Lady’s relationship with her famous husband. The Laugh Factory has appropriately titled it “Hillary vs. The First Amendment.”

Masada told Judicial Watch that, as soon as the video got posted on the Laugh Factory website, he received a phone call from a “prominent” person inside Clinton’s campaign. “He said the video was disgusting and asked who put me up to this,” Masada said. The Clinton staffer, who Masada did not want to identify, also demanded to know the names and phone numbers of the comedians that appear in the video. Masada refused and hung up. He insists that the comedy stage is a sanctuary for freedom of speech no matter who is offended. “Just last night we had (Emmy-award winner) Dana Carvey doing Donald Trump and it was hilarious,” Masada said.”

And if anyone should know what happens when you mock that woman, I sure do.  My Messages of mhere story tabbed at the top of the page chronicles what happened to me, a nobody homemaker, who dared make fun of the smartest woman in the world and her husband BJ  (ok, I mocked her and their spin mercilessly), during the Lewinsky scandal in 1998, writing on the Excite message boards.  Don’t laugh at her or else!  Although written in my usual snarky style, the names have been changed to protect the innocent – ME, but rest assured the events happened.  Assuredly, I, an unarmed, cookie-baking homemaker, felt terrorized in my own home, but be that as it may, I’ll leave it to you to decide who is the deranged one in this saga and the meaning of “domestic terrorism”…

My review of the GOP field

Time to gauge where I’m at with the GOP primary, other than wishing it was over and done with.   Very tired of the manufactured drama, starring Donald Trump.  As I’ve written many times, I will never vote for him and I do harbor suspicions that he is a dupe (not a plant) of the Clintons, because as I’ve watched Hillary Clinton go from the stiff, robotic candidate in the Spring, to the smiling hipster, cracking jokes and yukking it up on late night TV, it’s obvious dramatic changes took place within her campaign.  I believe that unlike her 2008 campaign, where she kept one of America’s true political geniuses at bay,  in the early months of this campaign, where it looked like she might not survive to the Fall, in desperation she turned to him.  I strongly suspect that he set in motion the strategy that has worked miracles for him over the years.  Yes, I see the Bill Clinton triangulation strategy playing out, with far-left kook Bernie on the left, Trump sounding more and more like a fascist on the right and there’s “love and kindness Hillary, appearing as moderate and centrist.  I’ve mentioned my suspicions many times ( here, here, here).

In the GOP camp, Donald Trump creates drama, chaos and endless controversy.  Assuredly, on the big issues he champions, he mouths many home truths that are inconvenient for the DC cocktail party crowd to hear and acts like gasoline tossed on the liberal press and pundits’ self-righteous, politically correct  pieties.  He’s reduced their arguments to a heaping pile of ashes and for that alone, we should all cheer.  However, there are several “buts”, like, but he doesn’t have a clear grasp of The Constitution and his cures often come without clear plans and overstep constitutional bonds.  Of course, those who believe in his great business acumen, don’t harbor the doubts that I do – they see the great American success story, while I see the  yuge glowing red warning sign of toxic leadership.

I left my job at a retail store earlier this year, where I  worked for a man, whom I believe was the most talented merchandiser I have ever seen.  Along with that talent came a huge ego and the worst people skills I have ever seen in my life, that is, until I’ve watched Donald Trump brag, insult, bash and mock his GOP rivals.  This man threw anyone under the bus to make himself look good and he bragged as much as Trump.  He loved to fire people, very much like Trump.  One tirade too many right on the sales floor and I decided to put in my two-week notice, after working there many years.  He was my 8th store manager and I had never had a single problem with any of the others.  YUGE relief is what I feel not having to deal with him anymore!

The only team The Donald is on, is his own.  He does not care about the GOP party or causes per se, they’re just the vehicle he is driving to become President, where he believes his dynamic business acumen will single-handedly “make America great again”.  He’s right on many issues – even in his latest kerfuffle about Muslim immigration, on the main points he’s right – it doesn’t make sense to be bringing in Muslim immigrants from several countries that are hot beds of Islamist terror and where the collapse of government in many of these regions makes adequate vetting impossible.  And he nailed the alarming truth that the Obama administration doesn’t know what the hell is going on with their own immigration policies.  A pause makes perfect sense.

Time will tell if the Carville/Begala campaign modus operandi, that I strongly suspect is playing out in the Trump campaign, is true or just a nutty conspiracy theory.  For me, it doesn’t take much imagination to envision Bill Clinton calling Trump when he caught wind that Trump was considering running.  Trump and Bill Clinton golf together and have known each other for years.  Trump was a yuge Clinton supporter.  So, the phone call could have been as simple as this:

Bill Clinton calls Trump :  Hi Donald, I hear you’re thinking of throwing your hat into the 2016 race?

Trump:  Yes, I am.

Bill Clinton:  Well, you know I believe Hillary is the best candidate for 2016, but I wish you good luck and you know, Donald, the one bit of advice I’ll give you is you’ll need great political advisers.  A national race is really complicated.

Trump:  Well thanks for that advice.  I am still putting a campaign staff together.

Bill Clinton:  No problem Donald, you know I am already taken (laugh, laugh), but the best political advisers are Carville and Begala.  Those GOP political advisers don’t have the guts to run a tough race.

Trump:  Thanks, you know me,  I want the best political advisers.   You know I’m going to fund my own campaign, if I jump in.  Do you think Carville and Begala would work for a GOP candidate.

Bill Clinton: I can’t speak for them, but you know, business is business, so you’d have to talk to them yourself.

Set-up done.  It could have been that easy for Bill Clinton to manipulate the downfall of the GOP primary. Carville and Begala easily could have advised Trump to keep the business relationship secret, because Republicans go into derangement mode about them.  It’s obvious Bill Clinton threw his weight around and called in all sorts of favors within the Democratic party to bury this email server scandal and the Benghazi committee investigation to get her campaign on track.

The other GOP field, except for Rubio and Cruz, lies like dying fish washed up on shore, gasping their last breath.  Fiorina seemed to have so much potential – smart, well-prepared, excellent public speaking skills, but then she turned into a scorned feminist, who played the victim card at every turn – whining her way to main debate stage.  Her “well-prepared” quickly became boring repetitive, rehearsed diatribes and there didn’t seem a hairbreadth’s difference between her shrill, angry “I am woman, hear me roar” harangues than Hillary’s.  The rest of the GOP field, many having crystal clear conservative principles and records, due to The Donald’s monopoly of the press and pundits attention, fell to the wayside.  Dr. Carson, the other outsider, still seems like a very nice man, who wants to make a positive change.   Unfortunately, his contemplative pauses, lack of foreign policy cred and string of odd remarks have doomed his chances.

I could happily vote for Ted Cruz, even though I doubt he can win in the general election.  His pitfalls are he always appears as if what he’s saying now is a careful tactical move  in some political grand strategy , which on an intellectual level, I admire, but on a more human level, it comes across as cold and calculating.  His other main drawback centers on how he speaks with such overblown rhetoric that it feels as if he’s talking down to people.   Rubio has boyish good looks and an engaging personality, but I feel he’s misguided on foreign policy and easily led by “military and think tanks experts”, unfortunately it sounds like all of his are neocons, whom I disagree with on most policy issues.  I still like him, but it would take a lot of soul-searching for me to support him.  Chris Christie comes across well in debates, but here again, as a conservative, I have a hard time with Republican-lite candidates

What he should have said

Words matter, so keep your dictionary handy

Here are my observations on  President Obama’s Oval Office speech Sunday night.  His narrative writers carefully chose those words, to serve as propaganda, to sway public opinion after seeing devastating poll numbers on how Americans feel about the President’s response to ISIS and Islamist terror.  For them, this wasn’t meant to be an actual change of course, only a change in word choice.  The Obama  administration does have a strategy, however that strategy is not to defeat ISIS, but to fundamentally transform (revolution) America.  If you pay attention to the Obama agenda and the things that inspire this president to get passionate and animated, you’ll discern it has nothing to do with fighting Islamist terrorists, heck, he’s planted Islamist sympathizers and enablers in the US military and throughout his administration to insure Muslim sensitivities aren’t offended rather than find a strategy to defeat Islamist terror.  That’s the truth! Now, if you juxtapose that with his actions to attack the police, while championing black thugs who get into altercations with the police, the Van Jones plan hits you in the face: it really is top down, bottom up, inside out – they are working to fundamentally transform (revolution) America

President Obama knew his speech would incite a reaction from the political far-right and actually they’re trying to create more divisiveness and that’s why they descend on these police/black clashes, Al Sharpton has an open invitation to the White House, the military has been cut and being the last bastion where an Alpha male ethos survived, they effectively neutered the US military – where our Secretary of Defense warbles on about transgenders and females in combat jobs making us stronger.  The White House reaction to this latest terrorist attack on American soil was meant to antagonize the political right – they want the racists and bigots to react, so they can justify confiscating guns from private citizens – they want to incite a race war in America – that is the truth!

Donald Trump, whom more and more Americans fed-up with Obama’s non-response are supporting, is there to incite the worst among the far-right.  I still believe Trump is a Trojan Horse set in motion by the Clinton political machine, but have no proof.  To understand Trump’s appeal, refer to my post, “He never means anything serious till he talks about justice and right.”  His rabble-rousing feeds Obama’s strategy and will insure a GOP defeat in 2016.  And in the midst of all this, there’s big money from George Soros and leftists funding Obama’s fundamental transformation (revolution), from BLM movement, to the Islamist apologists, to the Syrian refugee invasion.

I’ve written about it many times:

Building trust: The high road for America

The Obama/Black Grievance Community/Arab money connection?

Follow the money

Donald Trump’s response isn’t the problem

At this point, we’ve got Donald Trump, ostensibly a very recent conservative convert (Trojan Horse or dupe of the Clintons) inciting the far-right to act out and you’ve got the far-left (ensconced  in the White House, with the power of the executive branch, using executive power to subvert The Constitution and fundamentally transform  (revolution) America).  The far-left wants to incite the far-right to violence, so they can then use the levers of executive power to advance their revolution.

You can read the Van Jones plans in his STORM Handbook, but just like Malik Shabazz went from being a leader of a reviled hate group in America to the National President of Black lawyers for Justice, Jones these days isn’t a radical subversive, nope, he’s the clean-cut, well-spoken political analyst on CNN and the president of Rebuild the Dream…. what could sound more benign….

America, the Republic, is being redefined out of existence, but really the far-left wants the far-right to react violently, so that President Obama can use the power of the Presidency to strong arm his fundamental transformation (revolution) with a national police force, widespread gun confiscation from private citizens and a flurry of executive orders to quell free speech.  Loretta Lynch signaled that, by warning Americans she will prosecute hate speech.  Words matter, so keep your dictionary handy!

Thinking aloud on radical Islam in America

Time often distances us from realities of our history that, if remembered,  would guide us through treacherous waters in the present.  America’s difficult past with slavery leads to a glossing over of many inconvenient facts, which seem impolitic to mention in our PC culture.  Being fully aware that some will dismiss these facts as mere “conspiracy theory mutterings” or “racist and hate”, I’ve decided to write this post anyway.  For regular readers, you’re forewarned, I’ve covered this before in various posts,, but I felt like mentioning it again.

A chronological listing often helps you see connections that you miss when studying history neatly delineated into subject matter or particular eras.  Comparing chronological listings from various regions of the world, side-by-side, gives you an added perspective on events.   Considering this timeline methodology led me to ponder why the press assiduously avoids noticing the connections between many violent black street gangs in America, Islamic supremacist movers and shakers, and their involvement under the larger umbrella of  the ongoing “civil rights movement”, largely controlled by black American groups.

Consider that college kids today have no actual remembrance of the Soviet Union or the Cold War.  From the beginning of the Bolshevik control in Russia in 1917, their goal was not just control of Russia, but a spread of  Communist ideology world-wide.  So, as the Soviet Union emerged, ideological compatriots throughout the West worked to advance their revolution.  Just a stone throw’s back on our American history timeline, during the 1930s, Communist Party (CPUSA) made it’s strongest in-roads, recruiting and agitating within the American black community.  The Soviet Union directed and funded CPUSA activities.  Due to  the Great Depression, Marxist ideology gained traction with urban poor.  Then add in the alarming fact that many of the most radical activists  from the Vietnam-era anti-war movement (many of them communist ideologues and CPUSA affiliated) settled into academia  and  project an out-sized impact  fomenting political upheaval, culture change and divisiveness, in addition to controlling education in America.  This anti-American indoctrination, which is institutionalized at the top of our educational system, serves as the springboard for America’s future leaders.

In numerous past posts I’ve chronicled tidbits of information, that while I can’t state absolute cause and effect, form more than just a conspiracy trail leading nowhere.  There is some “there” there, the issue is figuring out how much.  Let’s look at one such black leader, President Obama and consider his background, minus the conspiracy theory stuff, but sticking to things that are facts.  First, his mother and grandparents were not your ordinary American-flag waving, apple pie type folks – that is a fact.  His grandfather and likely his mother too, were Marxist ideologues.  Growing up in Hawaii, Obama’s grandfather formed a friendship with Frank Marshall Davis,  an actual card-carrying member of CPUSA, whom Obama mentions numerous times in his autobiography, “Dreams of my Father,” as his mentor.  Obama’s father, likewise, was a Marxist.  Looking at Davis, you can see by his political activism in Chicago, there was active recruitment and advancement of CPUSA goals within the black community.  Valerie Jarrett’s parents and future father-in-law were also part of this Chicago petri dish of swirling far-left activism.

The Soviet Union directed and funded CPUSA.  Here’s a link provided to me in a comment at another blog, which deserves a thorough investigation by US intelligence, because, if true, it would be another foreign attempt to subvert the US Constitution.  Back in April 2015, in a comment on another blog I mentioned the connections between violent Muslim black street gangs and these protests in Ferguson and Baltimore. A commenter provided this link to a

“Not strange at all, LB. I commend to your attention this piece concerning Vernon Jarrett, a friend and contemporary of Frank Marshal Davis, and father-in-law of Valerie Jarrett. It explains that connection.”

http://www.dailyinterlake.com/members/does-newspaper-column-shed-light-on-campaign-story/article_7924e4f0-0468-11e2-8da2-0019bb2963f4.html

~M.

This article mentions a 1979 newspaper article written by Valerie Jarrett’s former father-in-law, veteran Chicago newspaperman, Vernon Jarrett, who wrote about OPEC beginning funding of black  students and black colleges.  The linked article above, by Frank Miele, mentions Jarrett as relating a conversation with Khalid al- Mansour (the former Donald Warden, who a was a founder of the black-power movement in the Bay area).   Al-Mansour was a lawyer for OPEC, along with his many other activities.  Here’s a link with some bio info on al-Mansour.

While these two articles approach the question raised whether Barack Obama’s law school fees were paid with Saudi money, the larger question is did the OPEC nations or Saudi Arabia undertake a funding project in the 80s and 90s to spread Wahabbi (radical) Islam in black colleges and black communities.  Here’s a 2013 piece from The Vancouver Sun:

“Jonathan Manthorpe: Saudi Arabia funding fuels jihadist terrorBig chunks of the country’s huge oil earnings have been spent on spreading a violent and intolerant variety of Islam

“In 2003, a United States Senate committee on terrorism heard testimony that in the previous 20 years Saudi Arabia had spent $87 billion on promoting Wahhabism worldwide.

This included financing 210 Islamic centres, 1,500 mosques, 202 colleges and 2,000 madrassas (religious schools).

Various estimates put the amount the Saudi government spends on these missionary institutions as up to $3 billion a year.”

The article continues:

“It is widely believed by western intelligence agencies that in the 1980s and 90s, the Saudi government had a deal with Wahhabist terrorist groups like al-Qaida that their fundraising would not be hindered so long as they only operated in foreign countries.”

If true that would be two foreign subversive elements tossing money into fomenting  anti-American indoctrination and radical activities in black communities.  Watching the evolving black movements in America, it was noted that ISIS signs showed up in the protests, but the mainstream press dismissed that as protests attract all sorts of kooks.  Yes, the same thing could be seen in Baltimore, but what the mainstream press completely missed in Baltimore was violent black (Muslim) street gangs were involved in fomenting the rioting, then pretended they were part of the keeping the peace actions  and in the mix descended the likes of Malik Shabazz.  From my May 10, 2015 post, “Follow the money”, here is who Shabazz is:

“In light of the racial tensions, our federal government and the media pretend all these race riots aren’t being fueled, in large part, by Marxist radicals, stalwart race hustlers like Al Sharpton, and MUSLIM black gangs and thugs – like the Nation of Islam, the New Black Panthers, Black Guerrilla nation and many more.   The media, by and large, tiptoes around acknowledging that radical black Muslim gangs serve as a home-grown terrorist training ground.

Malik Shabazz, formerly in the Nation of Islam, former  head of the New Black Panthers, a Muslim black supremacist, virulent anti-Semite and now the head of some nicer sounding National President of Black Lawyers for Justice, became a champion of the black people against the police in Baltimore and here’s the connection of the black Muslim gangs banding together for “justice”.  Really, the attempt to cover-up the Islamic connection among American academia, the Obama White House, and even the Southern Poverty Law Center is astounding.  You can check out the New Black Panthers at the SPLC website and no where in the first pargraph describing the group is the radical Islamic connection mentioned (way down the page you can find his connection to Nation of Islam):

“The New Black Panther Party is a virulently racist and anti-Semitic organization whose leaders have encouraged violence against whites, Jews and law enforcement officers. Founded in Dallas, the group today is especially active on the East Coast, from Boston to Jacksonville, Fla. The group portrays itself as a militant, modern-day expression of the black power movement (it frequently engages in armed protests of alleged police brutality and the like), but principals of the original Black Panther Party of the 1960s and 1970s— a militant, but non-racist, left-wing organization — have rejected the new Panthers as a “black racist hate group” and contested their hijacking of the Panther name and symbol.”

So, you got that, Shabazz has now morphed into the benign champion of black men.  He is the National President of Black Lawyers for Justice…  This also is an old tactic of the Communists – they co-opt western democratic language to confuse and deceive people – they’re all about democratic values and fairness and equal rights oh, and of course “workers rights”…  Sadly, young people today don’t even realize they’re being conned.  I mean, what could be wrong with a rabid Muslim racist, who advocated for the overthrow of the US (an ANARCHIST), being the leader of Black Lawyers for Justice….  The press goes along with the con.

Americans apparently decided to dismiss inquiring deeper into President Obama’s links to radicals in the black community.  Sure, no worries with launching his political career in Bill Ayers living room (a Marxist and domestic terrorist).  No worries with choosing an avowed Marxist who wrote a entire manifesto on overthrowing the US  (avowed Marxist Van Jones and his STORM).  Whenever the topic of communist infiltration in America comes up, the political Left recoils and charges McCarthyism, but the fact is the Bolsheviks initiated just such a program, that continued throughout the Soviet Union’s existence and black Americans were a key target of their efforts.  Did the Saudis initiate a similar program in the late 70s?

Native Intelligence

via Native Intelligence.

This 2005 piece in The Smithsonian by Charles C. Mann offers a fascinating look at the Native American and European relationship at the time of the Pilgrims’ arrival.  (H/T to the Fabius Maximus blog, where I came across this link)

Oddly enough a history written by John Marshall of George Washington began with volume 1 of the 5 volume set devoted to the European  experience in America, does exactly what Mann’s rich tapestry approach does – it offers a complicated and complex history in rich, vivid colors rather than bland, oversimplified loose threads offered in school textbooks, unconnected to any picture at all.  When you start to see the threads woven together, all of sudden history comes alive as a fascinating magic carpet ride.

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!  First, I’ll post a link to an entertaining cooking piece at Salon.com on Food Network’s Thanksgiving horrors from celebrity chefs:

“Crimes against Thanksgiving: The Food Network’s 10 biggest holiday atrocities”

My favorite was #6:

6. Cranberry Molds

Sandra Lee is basically your perpetually drunk aunt who attempts to mask her crippling alcohol problem by giving her cocktails cutesy little names like the Mayflower Martini and then hides vodka in the cranberry sauce, like in this recipe

At my house, we stuck to the tried and true, although I made one change to my cooking.  After thinking about purchasing one of those roaster ovens for decades, I finally bought a stainless steel Oster brand one with a high-domed lid.  I roasted a 20 lb turkey in it with absolutely perfect results.  Talk about wonderful, it made preparing the rest of the meal a breeze having the oven free.  Now, let’s see what other uses I can find for this not-so-small, “small appliance”.

In case you missed this most memorable (and scathing) restaurant review from 2012, here’s the NY Times review of Guy Fieri’s restaurant in Times Squares.  For an appetizer sampler let me quote:

“Why is one of the few things on your menu that can be eaten without fear or regret — a lunch-only sandwich of chopped soy-glazed pork with coleslaw and cucumbers — called a Roasted Pork Bahn Mi, when it resembles that item about as much as you resemble Emily Dickinson?

When you have a second, Mr. Fieri, would you see what happened to the black bean and roasted squash soup we ordered?

Hey, did you try that blue drink, the one that glows like nuclear waste? The watermelon margarita? Any idea why it tastes like some combination of radiator fluid and formaldehyde?”

Yes, I can sympathize, because food flops and holiday disasters become the fodder of family lore, never to be forgotten and oft to be repeated and embellished.  Once again let me offer G. Murphy Donovan’s Thanksgiving tale, “The Cranberry Rumble”:

” All family gatherings in the Bronx were special, but Thanksgiving was legendary. Holidays bring out the best and worst in families. Alas, there’s always some in-law who doesn’t fit in, some relation with an ax to grind.

Such was the case with Jack Hickey and his brother-in-law, Everett Olmstead. Jack and Everett were like oil and water. Hickey was the taciturn NYC cop with few pretensions and Olmstead was the car salesman from Scarsdale who thought any trip to the Bronx was slumming. Olmstead never made a secret of his condescension; a foible that the O’Grady women tried to ignore but never failed to annoy the sheriff of Rhinelander Avenue. Blue collars in the Bronx do not suffer snobs gladly, especially poseurs north or south, from Westchester or Manhattan.

On one ominous Thanksgiving, Mr. Olmstead of Scarsdale, sitting opposite Officer Hickey, made an intemperate remark about “dumb cops.” Uncle Everett had gotten a speeding ticket on the Bronx River Parkway on the way to the festivities.

Hickey rose to the bait like a trout to a mayfly; up from his chair, followed by a foolish Everett. The two, fueled no doubt by several holiday highballs, leaned in across the festive table.  Jack’s balled fist came up in a low arc and caught Olmstead under the chin. The uppercut propelled Uncle Ev to the wall opposite where he rebounded, spun and collapsed like a human fulcrum in the middle of the table.”

The only family occasion I recall ever coming close to this sort of high drama was my cousin, Nolie’s, graduation party in the early 70s.  It was a lovely picnic affair and I, being a young teen, sat there listening to my great Aunt Dorothy tell one of her endless string of entertaining stories, although at this point her pig heart valve story hadn’t entered the repertoire.  All of a sudden some of my cousin’s male friends ran through the gathering………. streaking.  My Uncle Nolan, father of my cousin Nolie, and very hot-tempered to boot,  was outraged.  He charged into the path of the streakers and caught one.  So, there stood this stark-naked drunk teenager trying to cover his stuff, facing the wrath of my Uncle Nolan.  My Aunt Marion, prim and proper to the core, told my sister and me, “Don’t look!”  Who could not look?  I think it was my mother, a sister to my Uncle Nolan, who grabbed a tablecloth, wrapped it around that boy and told my uncle he needed to calm down.  Great Aunt Dorothy, to her credit, with unruffled aplomb,  laughed and commented on this “streaking” being something different.  Yes, “Don’t look!”….
