All week, I’ve been intending to get a blog post written, but so far all I’ve got are some drafts that didn’t go anywhere. So, for now here’s a very worthwhile bit of advice from Carly Fiorina:
Category Archives: Culture Wars
Yep, I’m still on the scorched earth SPIN information war consuming America. I like doing timelines and then stepping back and looking at them, looking for patterns and trends that get lost in the rapidly shifting spin cycles in America.
SPIN information warfare began in America in the 1990s with the Clinton war room.
During the 90s, the constant spin back and forth escalated and America was enmeshed in constant Clinton scandals.
On the Right numerous media operations began to “expose the Clinton corruption” (the scare quotes in no way mean the Clintons weren’t corrupt, they mean that was the “mission” (ends, if you will) of the operations. For instance, Judicial Watch began and to me that looks like an American Wikileaks operation ferreting out every bit of FOIA info they can get their hands on and spinning it to the max against the Clintons & Dems. Many long-established conservative news media outlets joined the “expose Clinton corruption” efforts, but the thing is there was a constant effort to spin wild conspiracy theories to prod the Right further and further toward grassy knoll territory.
By the time Clinton Impeachment rolled around, the American Right was in full Clinton Derangement Syndrome mode. A couple of names come to mind as becoming overnight star agitation propaganda players on the Right. Matt Drudge and his Drudge Report broke the Lewinsky scandal and Ann Coulter became a firebrand pundit on cable TV and penned a book on High Crimes and Misdemeanors. Kellyanne Conway, back then Fitzpatrick, Laura Ingraham and the late Barbara Olson became pundit stars spinning against the Clintons. Kellyanne Conway worked for Frank Luntz (more of that polling kabuki inc. in America).
The Bush/Gore campaign was the entire hanging chad hysteria, followed by 8 years of Soros group-funded SPIN agitation propaganda, stirring Bush Derangement Syndrome. The name, David Brock comes to mind as a big right-wing agitprop player from the 90s working for conservative The American Spectator, who then switched to becoming Soros’ right-hand man running a vast network of agitprop groups on the Left.
America has been played back and forth since the 90s – imagine some movement like Black Lives Matter, which agitates racial distrust and pits black Americans against the police – to discredit law enforcement in America.
Through the 2000s we had more agitprop and a full-blown right-wing effort emerged with the Tea Party movement sucking in American conservatives. And there was Obama Derangement with Birtherism. We’ve had non-stop hysterical SPIN info war working to tear America apart.
Ann Coulter has President Trump’s ear, Kellyanne Conway is in the WH whispering in his ear, and Laura Ingraham is on FOX talking at him too. The Murdoch/Soros efforts look to be the two biggest players working to tear America apart and I wonder if there are hostile foreign hands involved too.
Just for historical reference, the Soviets & East German Stasi loved using women to manipulate men.
I find it very interesting that Don Jr. now has a FOX News babe surrounding him. The POTUS has Kellyanne, Coulter and Ingraham prodding him. With Melania, I think it would be prudent to gather intelligence on Trump’s foreign business efforts and how Melania came into his orbit. Her subtle “cyber-bullying” cause and that “I Don’t Care” jacket smack of deliberate agitprop efforts to create more Trump Derangement on the Left. I liked her though and she seems so nice, so I hesitate to believe that, however I think a clear-eyed, unemotional investigative effort by our intelligence experts is long overdue analyzing this entire SPIN information warfare operation blowing across American media 24/7.
The Tea Party effort spawned a whole new cadre of agitprop operators on the right. The Glenn Beck operation was another massive con job, probably the test run for using the large crowd rally format to con conservatives, which Trump is using to great effect.
George Stepanoplouslos, a former Clinton War Room Spin Commando sits as ABC’s chief news anchor. The SPIN FORCES on both sides in America wield total control over American news media.
In recent years, I noticed that The Drudge Report began mainstreaming Alex Jones, featuring stories that were linked to Jones’s site. This took place over several years.
Some liberals were writing about the right-wing media empire being nothing but grifters and they are, but I believe it’s way worse than just the hawking merchandise and non-stop book mill efforts. Many of the commercials are geared to fan doomsday (Flight 93, anyone) hysteria.
We are getting close to Trump moving near impeachment territory and even America’s mayor is now so lost in the scorched earth spin info war that he said, “Truth isn’t truth”.
The POTUS and Don Jr. are being manipulated by women and even the State Dept spokeswoman is a FOX babe, who moved to the top of the food chain quickly there.
President Trump recently brought another FOX media pro, Bill Shine, into the White House as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, so I’ve been concerned all the pieces are in place to orchestrate a massive political and constitutional crisis in America.
Last night POTUS tweeted:
Tucker Carlson’s show hyped this news and that tweet looks like someone other than the POTUS wrote it. I suspect it was meant to jazz the white nationalist element of the President’s base, but even more than that it sent the Left and mainstream media into hysteria mode again. In 2017 Trump retweeted an Ann Coulter tweet praising Jayda Fransen, a British far-right radical. She worked to make sure Trump saw that. This South Africa tweet, I believe someone else in the White House wrote that in coordination with FOX having Carlson hype that. On the Left there’s the Steele dossier working to fuel endless hysteria on both sides, but most alarming is the effort to heighten racial tensions again.
Timelines, oh my, a retired COL is a gung- ho Trump Spin Force Twitter commando – insulting and name-calling non-stop, betraying his Army values -like RESPECT, every step of the way. He was recruited by Breitbart. There’s a former military officer on the Left spewing non-stop Trump Derangement Syndrome too, much of it anti-military…
So many worrying signs all around in the America’s scorched earth SPIN information war and all our so called national security experts on TV do is join in the scorched earth SPIN hysteria.
Finding a way to peacefully and legally defeat America’s scorched earth SPIN information war is a grave national security imperative. We are ripe for hostile foreign efforts to push us into a major political crisis or system breakdown and we have no means to unify America around anything.
Scorched earth SPIN information war blowing hot across America 24/7 is nothing less than a mutually-assured suicide pact.
“Houston, we have a problem.”
This long, rambling blog post is just my opinion about “spin” messaging. Although, I am sick to death warning about the dangers of our endless 2016 spin information war, I wanted to write one more post about this and then I am taking a break from writing about politics for a while.
I became interested in spin messaging during the 1990s, when I first noticed this new form of political messaging taking hold in America. Sure, politicians have always relied on a soapbox and sloganeering, but spin messaging went way beyond that. I’ve written plenty on this blog about our spin information war.
Despite decades of complaints from Republicans and conservatives about “media bias” and the mainstream media favoring the political Left in America, I have never read anything about spin being mass media information warfare, despite those engaged in it, infusing their spin efforts in militaristic terminology from its first appearance in America.
Over the years, I’ve pondered if there were hostile foreign intelligence operatives behind the birth of our American spin war and while I’m open to that possibility, it is clear the original spin messaging efforts began among politicos on the American Left. During the Clinton years, starting with the Clinton’s “war room” is when I first saw mass media “spin messaging” efforts emerge in American politics.
Among the American Left, communism, Marxism and socialism hold great sway, so it’s very possible that our spin information war is a completely homegrown political effort, but it’s wise to be open to the possibility of foreign hostile hands in the opening salvos in our mass media spin information war back in the 1990s. It’s also obvious that even if there weren’t hostile foreign hands in the beginning, after decades of our constant spin information war, hostile foreign intelligence operators assuredly are working for ways to ruthlessly fuel, interfere in, and escalate our spin war.
The American media and politicians talk and write about “spin” in terms of it being just some benign form of political media operations. Encyclopedia Britannica offers this explanation:
“Political spin, in politics, the attempt to control or influence communication in order to deliver one’s preferred message.
Spin is a pejorative term often used in the context of public relations practitioners and political communicators. It is used to refer to the sophisticated selling of a specific message that is heavily biased in favour of one’s own position and that employs maximum management of the media with the intention of maintaining or exerting control over the situation, often implying deception or manipulation.”
For another explanation, Wikipedia offers this:
“In public relations and politics, spin is a form of propaganda, achieved through providing a biased interpretation of an event or campaigning to persuade public opinion in favor or against some organization or public figure. While traditional public relations and advertising may also rely on altering the presentation of the facts, “spin” often implies the use of disingenuous, deceptive, and highly manipulative tactics.”
I don’t know exactly who developed American SPIN information warfare. I’ve never come across any literature that pinpoints in terms like, “Dizzy Spin developed mass media spin information warfare in 1990.”
Back in the 1990s, I became fascinated with watching the Clinton spin efforts, which then infected the entire Democratic Party and the Left’s political operatives. Their media efforts combined social psychology and aggressive repetitive mass media messaging to dominate the mass media battlefield.
Spin messaging weaponizes lies by packaging them in very deceptive language, but it also includes vicious, orchestrated mass media character assassination attacks, to bombard and bury political enemies under a mountain of dirt. Vicious character assassinations are a feature of spin messaging information warfare, not just a bug. However, spin information warfare is about more than partisan politics and winning elections.
The larger objective has always been to control public opinion in America.
The Left wants to win a larger cultural war, by manipulating public opinion, waging spin messaging information warfare attacks against the American people.
Throughout the 90s, I kept trying to understand how spin messaging works and why it works. Every strategy can be broken down into parts (the ways and means employed to achieve the ends). As the political Right in America kept losing ground in the cultural battles, which were advanced through aggressive mass media spin messaging efforts, the political Right constantly railed about “unfair media bias” to explain why the Left’s spin efforts always succeeded. This “unfair media bias” explanation is way too simplistic and benign to explain why the Left’s spin messaging always won.
Spin messaging in our free society can only work with constant, massive mass media collusion.
Spin often uses language that inverts the meaning of words and terms, to not only confuse people, but also to slowly erode people’s ability to communicate, think clearly and have the ability to counter the spin. This is an old communist tactic to control people. The Left in America has relied on this tactic too and our culture is awash in PC-dictated terms, we are pressured to use.
Those actively engaged in SPIN information warfare efforts, both the combatants and their willing colluders in the media, always cast spin efforts in terms of benign, ho-hum, political media operations, never the sinister mass media brainwashing that it is, nor the fact that it is, in fact, information warfare.
Spin information warfare is waged against not only political opponents, it’s ruthlessly being waged against the American people.
The American people are the primary target of all spin information warfare.
It’s important to understand all of the components of this type of information warfare.
The most obvious component of spin messaging is the short, talking points messaging used. This messaging must be relentlessly repeated by both the politicos and a large portion of the mainstream media. This messaging builds messaging walls, which block out competing messaging and control the terms in which issues are framed. A good example of the Left building a messaging wall was Hillary appearing before the Benghazi Committee in 2015. For 11 hours the Dems on that committee resorted to shamelessly repeating two talking points messages to build a messaging wall:
“This hearing is a right-wing witch hunt” and
“This is costing the American taxpayers $4.7 million.”
The mainstream media carried and amplified those two spin messages and worked to present Hillary as a victim of a “right-wing witch hunt”. The mainstream media then declared Hillary the winner and worked to discredit the Republicans on that committee.
Many media people and political people wrote about spin, but none of them ever explained that the secret sauce to spin messaging is not the ruthless repetition of spin messaging (lies) to build messaging walls, but the ruthless repetition of opinion polling to create the illusion that the spin messaging represents the majority public opinion. It’s a sinister mass media brainwashing operation to herd people to believe spin (lies) and quell dissenting opinion.
Spin messaging manufactures opinion cascades (often called information cascades). Spin messaging from the Left, repeated by a wide swath of the mainstream media successfully monopolizes both the terms used in public policy discussions and constantly reinforces these manufactured public opinion cascades, by bombarding the public with polling data resulting from spin messaging campaigns.
Polling data has taken on an omnipotent power in American politics and all public debate. Polling is used by politicos and the media to convince the American people that opinion polls reflect “the will of the people”. Spin efforts manipulate public opinion and then that manufactured public opinion is used to convince the American people these polls represent the mainstream, majority opinion. Opinion polls are just a sampling of opinions of a very small fraction of people. They mean nothing in terms of the merits of any issue.
Americans love being “popular” and this drive to be “popular” above all else, feeds every social media platform, so it’s no surprise many Americans are very vulnerable to being manipulated by polling data.
A favorite media tactic to reinforce the spin-driven, manufactured public opinion is public shaming efforts, where manufactured opinion polling is used to marginalize dissenting opinions in the public square. Through constant repetition of polling, the American people have been conditioned to being herded into falling into the spin-generated “mainstream public opinion”. How many times have you seen a person on cable news being interviewed, expressing a view, then having the interviewer inform that person something along the lines of , “Polls X. Y, & Z show the American people don’t agree with you.” or “Your view is way out of the mainstream according to all of the polls.”? This tactic effectively marginalizes dissenting opinions, but it also works to create the illusion that the dissenting view is extreme, no matter how thoughtful the dissenting view is presented.
Trump and his media spinners, especially on Fox News, now effectively use this same herding public opinion by citing polls tactic against Democrats and non-Trump supporting guests. For instance, yesterday, Harris Faulkner, a skilled polling data Trump-supporting spin herder, used this tactic against Jeanne Shaheen, a skilled Dem spinner.
Another good example of media spin herding was during the GOP primary when media spin herders constantly cornered Republicans with, “Trump is winning in all of the polls, so don’t you have to support the winner?” Trump was winning in all the polls with the aid of billions of dollars in free media spinning him as the “GOP insurgent”, “great businessman”, and “the winner in all of the polls”.
Without this constant polling kabuki manipulation by politicos and the media, spin messaging would lose a great deal of its power.
Until Donald Trump, the American Right never made any inroads into successfully using spin messaging. The Right successfully used talk radio, some online platforms and FOX News, but the mainstream media still is controlled by the political Left. The 2016 election changed that dynamic, when Donald Trump began campaigning using the Left’s spin messaging tactics.
During the GOP primary, the mainstream media and FOX News gave Trump billions of dollars in free media to aid his “GOP Insurgency”. The mainstream media was working to advance the Clinton Pied Piper strategy to promote the most extreme GOP candidate. This effort was part of Bill Clinton’s old triangulation strategy, where Bernie served as the far-left kook, Trump was supposed to be the far-right kook and this cleared a path for Hillary to claim the middle ground, where American presidential elections are won.
Trump weaponized his personal Twitter account as a means to constantly lob spin attacks at the mainstream media, to influence his supporters and constantly bait both his political enemies and many of the mainstream media (especially those who are dedicated colluders spreading the Left’s spin messaging). He built a grassroots following using rally road shows around the country, to build on his reality TV fame. He created a brilliant branding campaign around a few key slogans, with Make America Great Again, being the most popular one. Most importantly, when the mainstream media pivoted to running the Clinton’s dump on Trump spin attacks in late 2015/early 2016, Trump still managed to hobble together a mass media platform using FOX News and some conservative venues to combat the mass media spin onslaught from the mainstream media and Left (the Trump the fascist smear campaign).
The Left’s spin experts love to brag about their spin efforts and months before the 2016 primary season was over, I recall hearing Simon Rosenberg on TV during an interview bragging about how they were compiling massive amounts of dirt to unload on Trump later. It’s important to realize that their “they” included large numbers of mainstream media journalists and news outfits, who sat on their mountains of dirt, until the Clinton campaign and Dems gave them the signal to release their Trump dirt.
Trump proved to be a brilliant self-promoter, but he’s a genius at spin messaging. The word salad, used car salesman, rapid-fire way Trump speaks, both repeating and emphasizing his buzz words, makes him a world-class spinmeister. Added to that he revels in outrageously and shamelessly lying. He was the first Republican to break through the Left’s lock on spin messaging information warfare. He even borrowed most of his damage control “witch hunt” spin messaging verbatim from the Clintons.
While the American Left and mainstream media see Trump’s overt, often sloppy media collusion with FOX News, they still don’t acknowledge their own media collusion spreading the Left’s spin messaging.
The Left and mainstream media constantly work to foment Trump hysteria and hype Russian interference “to steal our democracy” (that is a lame Dem spin message btw). The truth is the Russians don’t have the power to “steal our democracy”. Another truth is the deliberate hysterical Russian spin from the Left and mainstream media is damaging our democracy more than the Russian info war efforts ever will.
Here’s another truth, President Trump’s relentless spin messaging attacks on “fake news”, his petty character assassinations, and his constant shameless lying also are damaging our democracy more than the Russian efforts to interfere in our elections ever will.
The biggest threat to our democracy is our own escalating domestic spin information war, that has been blowing hot since 2016.
Our spin info war continues to destabilize America, deepen partisan divides, leaves us very vulnerable to hostile foreign information warfare efforts and is rapidly destroying America’s credibility around the world.
Mass media spin information warfare is antithetical to our American free speech principles and should be discouraged and shunned by all Americans, especially those running for high elected office and those claiming to be journalists. Ending our domestic spin war should be a top national security priority and a top priority for both political parties. The news media should work to quell spin messaging, stop colluding with political factions to spread spin and quit selling polls as reflections of anything other than the opinions of a small sampling of Americans.
Our endless scorched earth mass media spin information war is our most potent enemy within.
Finding our way back to some common ground on valuing honesty and civic virtue offers the real hope to restore our American spirit and defeat spin information warfare. In our degraded political climate and culture, often I wonder if I am clinging to a pipedream, but I will continue to hope.
Feminist ideology permeates our culture in ways that filter down into even the most personal, often in ways that surprise me. Although being a teenager in the 1970s, where strident feminist ideology rose to dominate American culture, I should not be surprised how completely even many (perhaps most) conservative women have been indoctrinated too.
The girl power dogma rules and has been everywhere from cute pastel-colored stickers proclaiming “Girls Rule” for young girls to colleges brimming with “women’s studies” selections, while military history was frog-marched off of most college curriculums.
Feminists have worked to shame and marginalize women who choose to be stay-at-home mothers and make their family the center of their lives. Women who do not define themselves in terms of “careers” are relegated to the bottom of the heap and as one of those “just a nobody homemaker” type of women ( I could fill a book with personal examples). This attitude so dominates our culture, where women blazing trails into traditional male-dominated careers are hailed as role models, cultural icons and symbolic of what women should strive for in their lives, that anything other than blazing career trails is deemed being a failure or settling for less.
Women are defined by most men primarily on looks, to a degree that often, I think, it’s hardwired into the male DNA to assess women as potential mates, but most men publicly spout the feminist dogma too. Women define themselves and other women based on feminist-indoctrinated standards of career and politics. Motherhood and family, although still central to many women’s lives, get dissected and judged on strictly feminist terms. Most women, who decide to stay home to care for their children, whom I’ve known feel a need to defend the choice, but among stay-at-home mothers with a college education, they feel shame or express the choice in terms of being a failure.
Homemakers often caveat their choice as “temporary”. It’s a rare thing for a woman to unapologetically state she chose to be a homemaker and is happy being at home.
The cultural status of being a homemaker devolved from being a respected undertaking, where a mother was seen as the central figure in the home, keeping order and nurturing her family to now an undertaking in need of apology and excuses. Homemaking used to be considered real work, but the feminist revolution redefined it in Betty Friedan terms, as drudgery, misery, endless boredom and a total waste of a woman’s life.
Most conservative women in the punditry and political circles, claim to be feminists too and how they square these two diametrically opposing ideologies into their personal and political viewpoint fascinates me. These conservative women will raise a ruckus when Hillary Clinton makes a dismissive comment about traditional homemakers, spouting about how she didn’t want to stay at home baking cookies, but at the same time these conservative women are very much swimming in the same feminist ideological pond as liberal feminist women, believing most of the same things. They define themselves on feminist terms.
A few “rebel” conservative women have rocked the feminist cart a bit by suggesting women take the time to rock the cradle and stay home with their young children, as a viable option, but even there, feminist dictates creep in, with advice often urging women that they can later pursue a career. The truth is children especially from lower-income families, where affordable quality daycare options do not exist, would fare better with a family member at home caring for them. Despite relentless leftist social engineering in our culture, many women still feel mothering instincts and find satisfaction in caring for their children.
Among some deeply religious families, you will hear some value placed on stay-at-home mothers, but these views get cast as trying to keep women trapped at home by the mainstream cultural mouthpieces. This traditional defense of women being happy and fulfilled taking care of their families, as the central goal in their life, gets less than zero respect in our culture.
Marriage has also been redefined and diluted in meaning and form, where it’s relevance is now more useful as a term held hostage by leftists, who work tirelessly to politicize, litigate and pressure Americans into bowing down and accepting their constantly evolving definition. So, it shouldn’t have surprised me to read an op-ed from a conservative pundit weighing in that Hillary Clinton failed women, by staying married to Bill Clinton and urging Melania Trump to divorce President Trump, to make a political statement and become a worthy feminist icon.
A couple of days ago, conservative commentator, S.E. Cupp urged Melania Trump to divorce President Trump in an op-ed. Cupp wrote:
“What she does next is no small thing. It might seem just like tabloid fodder to the gossip rags, or political chum for Hill watchers. But for a generation of young girls, Melania’s next move could be formative.
It was for me. I was just 13 when word of Bill Clinton’s affairs hit the campaign trail and imperiled his 1992 presidential run. I had just “voted” for Clinton in my school’s mock primary, and I was paying close attention.”
It’s fair to condemn Hillary for attacking Bill Clinton’s other women and being involved in trying to destroy their reputations, but it’s a whole other thing to read a conservative commentator equate marriage as some sort of political or feminist statement. Marriage should be a private matter. It feels very odd to find myself defending Hillary Clinton’s right to privacy on her marriage and any decisions she makes pertaining to it, but this is a first. Hillary Clinton doesn’t need to explain her marriage to anyone.
Asserting that Melania Trump will inspire young women, if she divorces her husband, leaves me wondering what kind of women find inspiration in a broken marriage and another child dealing with a broken home? Divorce is a painful experience for most people who go through it. It’s especially painful to children in those families. Suggesting a woman divorce to make a political statement or to bolster her “feminist cred” sounds nakedly ambitious, heartless and completely incongruent with conservative values.
This is where conservative values are at though. Cupp isn’t an anomaly. Most women, across the political spectrum are feminists first and their “conservative” values play second string to trying to appease the feminist sisterhood. Feminist ideology rules, not only the American cultural and political landscape completely, sadly it rules the roost in most American homes.
Yesterday, I began writing a blog post, but stopped after one paragraph. I don’t want to write an angry diatribe or stridently partisan post about last weekend’s March for Life, even though the march was orchestrated and funded by big money on the Left and promoted by the mainstream media, which serves as the Left’s free advertising medium.
The mainstream media provided seamless messaging coordination with the Left’s orchestrated street spectacle this past weekend. The mainstream media worked to give these teenage mouthpieces air time with plenty of cozy interview settings to package and sell these teen victims, turned activists. It would be interesting to know how much time, money and effort went into grooming these teenage mouthpieces for the “March for Life” on Saturday, as really just stage props for the Left’s effort to take down the NRA. It was a massive propaganda campaign spewing hatred of the NRA, gun owners, and of course all people on the Right, who don’t agree with them.
The march was largely about inciting anger and hatred toward anyone who disagrees with them.
Some mouthpieces and Twitter peeps on the right started taking jabs at the ardent teenage flamethrowers, who used their 15 minutes of fame on stage to hurl verbal grenades at Marco Rubio, the NRA, gun-owners and anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Mouthpieces and Twitter peeps on the Left (including some unbiased journalists) took to Twitter to declare the high school speakers are pure and exempt from criticism, because they are “victims” who survived a shooting incident at their schools. That experience gives them carte blanche, according to their media and Leftist defenders, to spew anything that they want, on a national stage, no matter how vicious, untruthful or hate-filled.
What these media and defenders on the Left were doing was once again, trying to marginalize any dissenters as “hate-filled monsters” and attributing the moral high ground and legitimacy to the Left. This is how the mainstream media openly colludes with the Left’s political agenda – promoting it, selling it, working to demonize and marginalize dissent.
There were some minor side issues that erupted on Twitter, like a debate among some “journalists” over what their role should be, with some declaring that “advocacy journalism” is what journalism is all about and others countering that journalism should be about reporting facts as objectively as possible.
Rick Santorum made some comments urging high schoolers to take CPR classes:
“How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that,” Santorum said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
He also said:
“They took action to ask someone to pass a law,” Santorum said. “They didn’t take action to say, ‘How do I, as an individual, deal with this problem? How am I going to do something about stopping bullying within my own community? What am I going to do to actually help respond to a shooter?’… Those are the kind of things where you can take it internally, and say, ‘Here’s how I’m going to deal with this. Here’s how I’m going to help the situation,’ instead of going and protesting and saying, ‘Oh, someone else needs to pass a law to protect me.'”
Santorum’s comments generated another media firestorm, even though what he is saying is true. The real solutions to these social problems need to come from people within those communities (and high schools). His words became another media feeding frenzy on the Left, but the truth is more gun laws would not have stopped these incidents.
Frankly, inciting and feeding teenage fear, anger and rage, which is what those adults on the Left orchestrating and funding this march did, is more antisocial and detrimental than a kid taking a CPR class ever could be. Teaching kids to work together to help others will dramatically change the community culture for the better too.
Santorum may not have stated it as well as he could have, but this is what I think he was saying.
And he’s right. Community service activities, like learning CPR at your local American Red Cross (or learning disaster relief), assuredly will serve kids better than promoting kids carrying profanity-laced signs or signs libeling Marco Rubio as a #KidKiller.
It’s time to focus more on community service than on rabid partisan politics.
Kurt Schlichter Retweeted Ryan Nobles
Who thinks people so weak they sit in their cars and cry because they didn’t get their way in an election ought to be representing Americans to foreigners?
Kurt Schlichter added,
In other blog posts I have taken a dim view of Kurt Schlichter’s no holds barred support of Trump and also his slash and burn tactics when it comes to attacking liberals. However, yesterday he made a comment on a retweet, which goes to the heart of the an issue much larger than the one mentioned in this tweet and retweet exchange.
My youngest daughter, the baby of our family, is 30 years old. Back when she was in middle school, she came home one day and informed me that her gifted teachers needed all of their parents to show up at some meeting at her middle school. The topic was the school board had decided to move the middle school gifted program from my daughter’s school to another middle school less than 5 miles away and still right here in our same town.
When my daughter and I arrived, the gifted teachers had invited the local newspaper to cover this meeting and that infuriated me almost as much as these gifted teachers manipulating my daughter and other gifted students into a state of anxiety and anger about, what really was a piddly issue – moving the gifted program to another middle school, right here in our podunk GA town. It wasn’t an earth-shattering move. Most of the students, my daughter included, were Army brats, who had spent their lives moving all over the world, and they were seasoned movers.
The meeting began with the gifted teachers lamenting how terrible this move would be for “gifted students”, who are “special needs” students – read that as “emotionally fragile and delicate snowflakes”, who can’t deal with a lot of changes. Then the parents started raising their hands citing how delicate their gifted child was, in ever-increasing pathetic details. I listened to this for a good 45 minutes to an hour and then I raised my hand.
What I said infuriated the gifted teachers and the gifted students’ parents. It mortified my daughter too. I expressed my outrage that gifted teachers were getting gifted students stirred up, because they didn’t want to move to the other middle school, which was the truth. This whole charade was about those gifted teachers not wanting to move to the other school. I also pointed out the school district was moving some truly disadvantaged special needs elementary students and busing them to another outlying school in the county, more than 10 miles away, yet no one was getting worked up about how those students will adjust. Then I pointed out that these gifted students are America’s future leaders and if they are too delicate to handle riding a bus a few more minutes to another middle school, then our education and parenting are a total failure.
You could have heard a pin drop when I said my short piece – it was short too – just a few minutes, whereas many of the parents highlighting their snowflake kids’ sensitivities and “special needs” had gone on much longer.
My daughter was mortified and she whispered to me that I was supposed to be there to “support her gifted teachers”. She was hanging her head in shame when the meeting ended, very soon after I spoke, and we headed to the car. In the car, I told her that her teachers were wrong for manipulating their students into a frenzy about this move and that teachers should not play politics, using their students. I also pointed out that if being “gifted” means being a total ninny, who can’t cope with a bus ride to a different school (a perfectly nice middle school in a nice building), then America is doomed.
It sounds like the U.S. State Department, like much of the U.S government, and academia, now have a sizable part of their workforce, which has been indoctrinated into this snowflake culture, my daughter’s gifted teachers were selling in the early 2000s.
It does not bode well for America, if those who are, supposedly, our best and brightest can’t cope with not getting their own way, working with others who hold different views, or even listening to people who hold different views.
Schlichter is right about these snowflakes not belonging at the State Department, but the problem goes much further than the State Department. You can see it with the hysterical pink pussy hat crowd, you can see it with the hysterical college campus protests about “hate speech”, you can see it almost every time a liberal tries to stake a claim of moral superiority and silence other Americans from expressing a differing opinion. You can also see it with the constant mainstream media stream, casting those who disagree with liberal orthodoxy as “racists”, “bigots”, “hate mongers” and tarring those with opposing views as people whom, we should not only not be listening to, but as people who must be silenced in America.
These snowflakes didn’t just become snowflakes when they got to college. They have been cultivated in American public schools across America, for decades, where the liberal agenda controls every aspect of your child’s education.
Stella Morabito has written numerous articles about the cult-like indoctrination taking place in American schools and here are a couple of links:
Morabito’s #6 explains what happened with my daughter’s gifted teachers stunt:
6. Public Schools Are Increasingly Politicized
Identity politics and leftist politicization in the schools is pervasive these days. It especially piles on young men the label of guilty oppressor. Schools are becoming hotbeds of all sorts of political activity instigated by administrators and teachers. Privilege theory is now morphing into a new stage in which students engage in tell-all criticism-and-self-criticism sessions disguised as exercises in empathy. The message is loud and clear: take part in this political activism, or your social and academic standing will suffer. It’s now commonplace to get students to take part in political marches and protests, getting them acclimated to acting in concert with a mob.
As I type, the news is blaring about the nationwide student school walkout… What groups are behind the scenes organizing, promoting and funding this effort is the information reporters should be investigating, but expect only empathetic hand-holding and promotion from the mainstream media, as they help SELL this leftist anarchy.
Yes, they are fomenting anarchy – “tearing down the system”. That is the real agenda at play.
Heather Wilhelm wrote an interesting piece on the growing attacks on masculinity and boys in America. She states:
In short, in our culture, International Women’s Day was pretty much like any other day. In America, cheers for women abound. Girls are often praised, in fact, just for being girls. They’ve been long oppressed, we’re told; we need to eternally shore them up. “Girls today are told that they can do anything, be anyone,” actor Michael Ian Black recently wrote in a much-discussed New York Times op-ed.
They’ve absorbed the message: They’re outperforming boys in school at every level. But it isn’t just about performance. To be a girl today is to be the beneficiary of decades of conversation about the complexities of womanhood, its many forms and expressions.
For boys, it’s a dramatically different story. The title of Black’s op-ed, in case you’re wondering, is “The Boys Are Not All Right.”
If you’re a parent to multiple boys in this day and age, perhaps you know the drill: Every once in a while, a friendly-yet-awestruck stranger will approach and publicly note the apparently terrifying gender of your children. It happens more often than you might think. On planes. In restaurants. At Target. “Oh, my goodness! You have all boys? ALL BOYS? I’m so sorry!” Insert a pause, a dramatic gasp, and a knowing/troubled look here. The weirdest part comes when they stand and wait for you to agree.
“Boys are fantastic,” I usually say, moving right along. Alas, not everyone thinks so.
As one who grew up in the midst of the great feminist revolution in the 60s and 70s, where we are at with gender issues is exactly where the rabid feminists of the 60s dreamed we would be. It’s a world controlled by harping feminists dictating, using the most “dickish” antics, propaganda and shameless mob tactics to silence men and enforce their feminist dictates.
Any who dare to challenge the strident feminist sanctified mouthpieces will be attacked, face having their character and career viciously attacked and have their very job threatened. The feminist witch covens will seek to destroy you or anyone else, who dares challenge their views, policies or mob tactics. And the mainstream media, Leftist establishment and even many conservatives and Republicans (especially women) will fall right in line with the feminists’ propaganda stormtrooper media blitzkriegs. New buzzwords and semantical word games always play big in these feminist attacks. (Like in the overwrought “MeToo” charade designed to cast all men as rapists).
Masculinity was a target of the feminist movement from the start, so those who decry that feminism was about “equal opportunity” for women or about promoting “women’s rights” are sadly deluded. The movement was always about destroying traditional male norms (the evil patriarchy) in regards to male behavior and replacing male roles in all aspects of society, from the nuclear family to the highest positions of power with new feminist-approved feminist behavior and feminist-designed feminist roles. Males have no standing in the feminist utopian power structure, but serve only as useful henpecked supporters of feminist causes.
This attack on boys and masculinity has been going on in America since the 1980s – it’s not new. I wrote a blog post recently titled, Boys, and it’s the truth about how my sons were little hellions, as toddlers. What I didn’t state was I was glad they were active, curious and exploring their world. In 2013, I wrote a blog post, Control of the Home Roost. Upon rereading it, I admit to making some sweeping judgements on ADD and ADHD, which I think were a bit too strident, like stating I think ADD and ADHD are total bullshit, made-up ailments. However, there’s growing research to support the assertion that the abuse of misdiagnosis and overmedication of boys is very high in America. I wrote:
“We’ve got way too many parents who have never learned any self-restraint, self-discipline or how to follow a routine and then you stick kids into this chaotic mix and naturally the more disordered the home routine, the worse the kids behave. Set some rules and a routine and the vast majority of kids thrive and kids with problems benefit the most from a structured routine and consistent discipline. We all thrive if there is order in our lives”
Well, I still believe this is the truth and I ended that blog post with some blunt statements, which I also still believe are the truth:
“You want a simple solution – Quit buying into other people’s bullshit! Think for yourself! Quit listening to so many celebrity experts, mental health experts, and commercials selling magic pills. Make your family the central focus of your life. Start by learning to live by a routine and some rules yourself, then expand out to getting some organization in your family’s routine. American culture is in chaos, because American homes are in chaos – it’s way past time for American women to regain control of the home roost.”
Now there’s some advice that should be emblazoned on billboards all across America in loud caps:
QUIT BUYING INTO OTHER PEOPLE’S BULLSHIT!!!
Heck, if enough Americans embraced and took that advice to heart, it could revolutionize America very quickly, LOL…
I never pay any attention to Miley Cyrus, considering her just a part of all that Hollywood weird, but last night I saw this Miley Cyrus YouTube video and realized she’s very talented. I have been preoccupied with America’s SPIN information war. In recent years I don’t watch any TV, don’t watch movies, and I have spent every day since 1999 focused on defeating the SPIN info war in America. I miss waking up in the morning without feeling weighed down by all that crap that happened to me in 1998, when I wandered onto the Excite message boards and posted comments on the Clinton impeachment scandal… comments like “no one is above the law” and comments detailing what SPIN is and how it works. Although I’ve become completely alienated from pop culture in America, I intend to spend some time in the near future indulging in casual entertainment viewing and I want to get back to reading lots of frivolous historical romance novels… after the SPIN information war is over;-)
Miley is very talented, I think. Of course, I should have known that from her Hannah Montana days, when she displayed amazing comedic timing and delighted millions of American girls from 2006-2011.
Just when you think the Me Too witches can’t get any lamer, they prove you wrong. Now, they are demanding an investigation into Trump’s “groping” and the always arrogant Kristen Gillibrand is demanding that President Trump resign. This is a pretty lame scorched earth gambit, but it demonstrates that they overplayed the #RussianCollusion effort and that is imploding. Gillibrand claims there are numerous credible allegations, but they spun one over the weekend that blew up in their face. They were hysterically tweeting that in 2005-2006 Trump took former FOX News host, Juliet Huddy, to lunch and tried to kiss her in the elevator.
In 2005-2006, Trump was just a rich playboy, this did not happen in the workplace or while he was in office – it sounded like a date.
It bombed and by this morning Huddy was claiming the media exaggerated her account in an interview. Only problem is she is into this Me Too fainting couch hysterics too and she is the one who gave the media this story. These women are so phony. Liberal women who promoted rampant promiscuity for decades are now acting like Puritans and it’s so laughable and ridiculous. They are really trivializing real cases of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace. They are hyping “groping” allegations from parties and other social events, where these liberal women have promoted indiscriminate sex for years. They are deplorable, vile hypocrites.
The allegations against former president, George HW Bush had me fuming too. He’s 92, in a wheelchair and has diminishing function due to Parkinson’s. Either the witches of Me Too or the Roger Stone sewer rats tossed out this allegation to score some cheap political points. I suspect Bush 41 has some dementia too. To trash a man, who dedicated his life to public service and was a WWII war hero, should cause these vile people shame, but I doubt they care about anything more than their political games.
Trump will jump right into the sewer with them, so on it goes.
I have been crafting more. I made the above junk journal from another repurposed Ann Coulter book. I will be glad when all of those are sanitized into something pretty, lol. This one is for my best friend from high school. My friend used to collect Precious Moments figurines, but I didn’t have any Precious Moments pictures, so I used my old 2006 Holly Hobbie calendar and a picture from an old Mary Engelbreit calendar. Here are some more pictures from this junk journal:
I also started working on some collage junk, that I work on while reading Twitter droppings:
I made these 3 with just one page of one of my kids beat-up Little Golden Books and scraps of paper.
I also finished this plastic canvas tissue box cover and started another one – have 3 sides done, while reading Twitter:
I like using these same easy quilt patterns, because they are quick to stitch and I think they are pretty.
Not sure where America’s scorched earth info war ends, but the #Resist crowd is getting desperate, so I expect more poorly thought out scorched earth attacks. They really have no idea how ridiculous they sound. Sadly, many women, even Republican women will jump on board this lunacy, because they buy into so much of the feminist false narratives. The other things is almost every woman has experienced some incident of sexual harassment or uncomfortable sexual advances from a man. The very anything goes culture that these liberals created has now reached a point where so many women are angry, so many men and women have no manners, no sexual boundaries and it’s a wasteland. They don’t like the world they created, so they will try to impose new rules.
A reality about women is that they are catty as hell, by nature, easily join cliques, and engage in a lot of petty fights. Sure, some women don’t, but many do, especially ones with big egos. Another fact about women, is they have loyalty issues and can switch sides in fights, often several times in one day. I have observed this behavior, my entire life and I live in the real world, not the feminist delusional one. Women are also prone to petty jealousies, especially if men are involved. So, this will certainly be quite a spectacle I have always preferred to work with men, who are more apt to work toward a mission. I like being committed to a mission, with none of the drama.
America is now entering The War On Men…
Lord, help us all…
I’ve been neglecting my blog, because I’ve been busy being a Twitter troll and working on craft & needlework projects. Yes, I guess they call it subtweeting, where you retweet other people’s tweets, then add your own comments to it. I don’t have many followers, so I doubt my comments make a huge difference, but I feel better trying to speak up for following The Constitution and the rule of law.
The #Resist is now morphing into the Me Too media lynch mob to try to take down Trump. The #Resist has been hyping the Trump is delusional spin, and often dragging Republicans into it with hyped media stories. It’s hard to insulate yourself from believing the political reporting by major news outlets in America, but in the era of #Resist and the Trump Flight 93 spinmeisters, that is where I’m at.
I believed the first woman who made allegations against Roy Moore, but once Gloria Allred showed up, the media non-stop redo of the Access Hollywood started, coupled with the Trump is delusional spin and this new “moral purity” purge on the Left began, well, let’s just say I am not sure how to even begin to decide on what is a “credible allegation” after finding out that the WaPo descended on AL, along with #Resist dirt-diggers to turn up these allegations. At first the media hyped there were 30 some witnesses to corroborate that Moore chased teenage girls, but I no longer have real trust in any of this reporting. I keep wondering if he was a total perv, who chased teenagers, where are more recent victims? Does he have a long list of affairs or anything like that? I am open to listening to new allegations, but at this point, I see more evidence this was an orchestrated smear campaign and less that he was a child molester. I still want to believe the first lady. The one Allred rolled out and all that crying looked just like the Access Hollywood victim she coached.
I think Moore is vile and unfit for office. As a judge, he was impeached twice. Here again, if he does get elected, the Dems blew up that standard as a means to oust him, because the Dems have Alcee Hastings sitting in Congress: https://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/Impeachment_Hastings.htm
Senate Dems, like Kristen Gillibrand are setting up this moral purity scenario, insisting that they are setting the standard pressuring Conyers & Franken to resign, but really this is just a move to create political pressure on Republicans to ask Moore to resign if he’s elected and to ask Trump to resign. The #Resist which was fueled by the Nasty Women contingent has now imposed this new rule, that all women must be believed. Many Republican and conservative women will be sucked into this feminist cause too.
Since the sexual revolution in the 60s, the modern feminists embraced new rules that tore down sexual boundaries in America. Now, they have decided they don’t like these rules, so this is their new “cultural revolution” to impose some new ones. I am not a feminist and reject their rigid groupthink and totalitarian methods. You must embrace all of their rules, which they change at will. There’s always been an elite group of feminists who make all the rules. Assuredly they will serve as the Me Too Central Committee that dictates all the new rules. This new Me Too operates off a very unfair and totally unconstitutional premise – that all women must be believed and that all men are pigs, so therefore guilty. It is absurd to impose some morality that women hold the moral righteousness card and must be believed, while all men must be ostracized from their jobs or bow to the pressures of a media lynch mob.
With duly elected officials, the voters in those states have a right for a constitutional process of impeachment before ousting their elected officials – that’s how our system is set up. This #Resist Dems setting up this “moral high ground” trope is vile and disgusting, but many Republican and conservative women will buy into it., because almost every woman has dealt with sexual harassment or unwanted sexual behavior from men. They are encouraging women to go public with every allegation, but this is no way to seriously deal with sexual harassment or abuse in the workplace. There has to be a fair system in place in workplaces, so that both the accuser and the accused have their rights protected. Businesses reacting to a media generated public-smearing campaign, run by a vicious mob, is no way to oust people from their jobs. In Congress the procedure to remove House members and senators is expulsion. With the President, the procedure to remove him from office is impeachment.
I am all in on everyone following The Constitution.
Men and women are very different and being a woman, I know how catty packs of self-important liberal women operate. This will be interesting to watch those liberal shrews like Gillibrand trying to force male Dems to submit to her ever-evolving rules, to manipulate the rule of law. The goal is to oust Trump. In this process these women set-up, where all women must be believed and these Nasty Women are urging women to speak out, this will be amazing to watch it descend into chaos.
For Trump followers, all along I said Trump is a total fraud and he is, but he was duly elected, so unless there’s some cause to impeach him I remain committed to following the law. I don’t believe in working to make sure anyone fails at their job, so I hope he buckles down and does the job. He’s had some wins too. I wish he would quit tweeting and quit the scorched earth, but truthfully the #Resist would probably destroy him if he did that. This is like BushDerangementSyndrome on crack. The scorched earth information war is bad for America and it’s tearing our country apart.
Oh, what I was really getting to here, but drifted, was Trump is a total fraud. The reason he lashes out at Scarborough and so many others like Zucker at CNN, is because this was his crowd of friends and he feels like they betrayed him. The Daily Mail ran this story about a 2008 NBC roast of Matt Lauer: Former NBC exec Jeff Zucker who had ‘never heard about of Matt Lauer’s sexual misconduct’ joked about him masturbating and ‘rolled with laughter’ about the ‘C**k of the Rock’s’ sexcapades at explicit 2008 roast
This was Trump’s crowd of friends. Buried about halfway into this article was:
“It is not known which other NBC executives attended. President Donald Trump, who relished Lauer’s firing last week and declared NBC and Comcast ‘fake news’, was also there.”
I mentioned this line on a Byron York tweet last night and today the Daily Mail appears to have edited out this Trump line, but the attacks on Zucker and Scarborough are still up. CNN deceptively edited the Trump feeding the koi video recently to make Trump look bad. ABC botched the Flynn announcement and so it goes. Then the media sits on their perch preaching about how terrible it is that people doubt the media and that Trump trashes the free media. Trump decided to play the same scorched earth game that the Left and mainstream media have played for decades. Trump has some media playing this vile game too.
Despite all that, I hope that Republicans in Congress do their own #Resist and resist the Left’s games to subvert The Constitution under the guise of standing up for women. And #Resist Trump’s efforts to use a spin effort to gin up effort to subvert the rule of law by shutting down the Mueller investigation.
Everyone needs to work diligently to protect and defend The Constitution.
And now to crafting news. Above is a photo of these neat little paper bag junk journals I started making, after seeing a YouTube tutorial. Still working on plastic canvas tissue box covers too.
