But, her emails…

On Friday, the letter sent to Senator Chuck Grassley from the State Department Bureau of Legislative Affairs, outlining the finding on the State Department investigation into “Hillary’s emails,” was released.  As expected partisans, especially those in the media leaped on two diametrically opposed conclusions and that’s because the writer of the State Department letter tucked in some weasel words (probably deliberately imo) for Democrats to latch onto.  The letter is short and most of it focuses on the methodology used in their process of investigating the emails.

Here are the findings in a nutshell paragraph in the report:

V. ADJUDICATIVE RESULTS (TOP LINE ROLLUP)
APD’ s administrative review of the HRC emails resulted in the adjudication of 91 valid violations attributable to 38 individuals. Additionally, APD adjudicated 497 valid violations where no individual was found to bear culpability, resulting in a ”valid, but not culpable”determination.

Most of the liberal media reports I saw, seemed to fixate only on the last sentence, on Page 10 of this report, and offered the Clinton “time to move on” spin, opining that this report should be the end of investigating Hillary’s emails (I could imagine liberals in the media whining about this “witch hunt” and “poor Hillary” amongst themselves).  Here’s the last sentence:

“There was no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information.”

Yep, the media leaped on that no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information and the State Department official who sent this letter intended that sentence to be “The End” on Hillary’s emails.

None of this answers to the almost 600 valid violations found and these investigators failed to even hold anyone responsible for 497 of them.  Yet most of the liberal media thinks Americans should be satisfied with this investigation???  The report itself defines a valid violation as:

“An incident is categorized as a violation when it is “a knowing, willful, or negligent action that could reasonably be expected to result in the unauthorized disclosure of classified information.”

The Clinton/Dem machine has so many loyal media spinmeisters, who carry their spin messaging without question, that the hopes that truth could ever filter through their spin wall was always highly unlikely.

The FBI investigation into “Hillary’s emails” began with her use of a private email server coming to light and revelations of classified information being stored on that server.  Hillary explained her decision to use that private server as a desire to only have to carry one device, which made no sense, since according to the FBI investigation, she went through 13 blackberries and several laptops. In the FBI Notes Bill Clinton’s IT guy, Justin Cooper, described Hillary using a flip-phone to talk on while using her blackberry at the same time, so she could even multi-task with multiple electronic devices….

The cries from the many on the right insisted that Hillary deliberately set up that private server to avoid federal recordkeeping laws and “hide her emails from FOIA requests.”

I don’t believe either of these explanations gets to the truth of why Hillary decided to use a private server, so before “But, her emails” completely vanishes from public record, here are some facts about that server:

  1.  Hillary never set up a private, homebrew server.
  2.  According to FBI Notes of the interviews with Bill Clinton’s IT guy, Justin Cooper and Hillary’s IT guy, Bryan Pagliano, the original private server in the Clinton’s home was set-up by Cooper, around 2007, to serve as Bill Clinton’s private foundation server.  Got that everyone?  It was Bill Clinton’s private server.
  3.   In late 2008-early 2009 the Clintons decided to use that private server for Hillary’s State Department emails rather than the official government systems.  To that end, Hillary’s campaign IT guy, Pagliano, worked with Bill Clinton’s IT guy, Cooper, to upgrade the server.  Huma Abedin coordinated that server upgrade.  Pagliano told the FBI he believed they were upgrading that server for Bill Clinton’s use.  Hillary was sworn is as Secretary of State on January 21, 2009.  So, the merging of the Clintons’ private foundation server and the US State Department was implemented before Hillary was even sworn in as Secretary of State.
  4. .  According to the FBI Notes, Pagliano and Cooper have differing accounts of who the two email accounts on the original server belonged to.  Pagliano said it was Huma Abedin and BLANK and Cooper said it was Hillary and BLANK.

In 2016 when the FBI Notes were released I wrote a blog post, The Servers, and my thoughts about these email accounts were:

“Pagliano stated that he transferred email from the old system to the new system and there shouldn’t be ANY email content left on the old server.  Pagliano stated to the FBI that he ONLY transferred clintonemail.com email accounts for Huma Abedin and BLANK and that he was unaware of and did not transfer any email account for Hillary.  So, who is BLANK.   Since Pagliano ONLY transferred clintonemail.com email accounts for Huma Abedin and BLANK and this was Bill Clinton’s PERSONAL email server for foundation business, who could BLANK be…..  Now, Clinton’s IT guy, Justin Cooper, recalls the one email account as being Hillary’s email account, not Huma’s, which again brings us back to whose email account was the only other email account on Bill Clinton’s personal server…”

At this point, I’m still curious who BLANK was and why the FBI redacted that name.  It would seem to me that if Bill Clinton went to the trouble to set up a private server in his home around 2007, either he or one of his closest aides set up an email account for Bill Clinton’s business.  Hillary’s device and email account information the FBI released, indicated she was still using her email on her blackberry the first few months she was Secretary of State.

The Clintons used that homebrew server to merge the Office of the Secretary of State’s business onto their private Clinton Foundation server in their home.  Tens of thousands of emails were destroyed, so some of them had to be Bill Clinton’s foundation business.

And that might be why Bill Clinton went so far as to personally arrange that meeting with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in AZ,  weeks before Hillary’s FBI interview.  I believe he was likely strong-arming Lynch about how he wanted that FBI interview handled and that he wanted that email investigation closed ASAP.

Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan, all close Hillary staffers, told the FBI they didn’t know anything about the private server until after Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State, even though both Cooper and Pagliano told the FBI that Huma Abedin coordinated the server upgrade before Hillary was sworn in as Secretary of State.  And Huma had an email account on the second server for sure and likely even the original server.

The classified email issue never caused the Clintons any concern, because Hillary had the power to declassify information.  The Clintons spun so successfully that few people even realize that original server was Bill Clinton’s personal foundation server, which he had set-up around 2007.  The Clinton spin machine always insists that Bill Clinton doesn’t use email, but perhaps by 2007, he wanted to get with the times and decided a “private email server” tucked in his house, guarded by Secret Service agents, would be a secure way for him to begin using email.

Hillary had been online even when Bill Clinton was still president according to various media reports back then.

But, her emails, indeed…

 

Update: October 20, 2019 8:27 pm – I decided to post part of James Comey’s July 5, 2016 statement:

“From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were “up-classified” to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent.

The FBI also discovered several thousand work-related e-mails that were not in the group of 30,000 that were returned by Secretary Clinton to State in 2014. We found those additional e-mails in a variety of ways. Some had been deleted over the years and we found traces of them on devices that supported or were connected to the private e-mail domain. Others we found by reviewing the archived government e-mail accounts of people who had been government employees at the same time as Secretary Clinton, including high-ranking officials at other agencies, people with whom a Secretary of State might naturally correspond.

This helped us recover work-related e-mails that were not among the 30,000 produced to State. Still others we recovered from the laborious review of the millions of e-mail fragments dumped into the slack space of the server decommissioned in 2013.

With respect to the thousands of e-mails we found that were not among those produced to State, agencies have concluded that three of those were classified at the time they were sent or received, one at the Secret level and two at the Confidential level. There were no additional Top Secret e-mails found. Finally, none of those we found have since been “up-classified.”

A conspiracy theory

Here’s a conspiracy theory/recurrent pondering of mine about the 2016 election for which I have no proof, just a gut instinct that something was very amiss with Trump’s “GOP Insurgency”.

When Trump entered the race and began his run, he began using “spin messaging” that struck me as Clinton machine spin messaging.  I’ve been studying the Clinton spin, which evolved to dominate the entire Democratic Party, since the 1990s, trying  to understand how it works.  Clinton spin operations work only with massive mass media amplification and mass media smear campaigns.  With the Clinton spin operations, the efficient use of spreading their talking points spin messaging among political operatives and friendly media took hold.  Many people within the American news media and Hollywood work to spread that spin messaging.

With the advent of social media, Twitter serves as the online hang-out for the American news media and political punditry class, Twitter is where American news is generated and amplified, with rapid fire retweets.  It’s almost like trained dogs now, as many journalists repeat Dem spin messaging verbatim and treat it  as verified reporting, just like Republicans repeat pro-Trump spin   The mainstream media relies on only anti-Trump sources as their “trusted sources” Each side runs their spin/news reporting within an impenetrable echo chamber.

Until Donald Trump, the Republicans lost in the spin messaging battle in the mainstream media for decades.  Republicans and conservatives complained often and loudly about “media bias,” but it wasn’t “bias”, it was a corrupt news system, where the mainstream media worked to amplify the Dems spin messaging,  Without the media being a willing and active participant in the Dems spin messaging operations, spin messaging would not work.

So, along came Donald Trump and he was spinning just like the Dems and staging rally roadshows, but he had no normal campaign structure.  What he had was not only massive FOX News spin messaging amplification, he had  massive mainstream media amplification?  Why was the mainstream media working to amplify Trump’s “GOP Insurgency” spin messaging?

Well, as 2016 rolled along, through Wikileaks’ leaked Podesta emails, we learned that the Clinton campaign had a Pied Piper strategy to promote the most divisive GOP candidates during the GOP primary  So, who were the most divisive GOP candidates?  Ted Cruz, with his very conservative views and the “GOP Insurgent”, Donald J. Trump.  Funny thing though, the mainstream media did not give Ted Cruz a lot of free media, but Trump received billions of dollars worth of free media, with CNN and MSNBC lavishing Trump with positive media coverage, covering his rallies live and Chuck Todd, the Hillary Clinton hack, even allowed Trump to just phone in interviews. Why?

Trump’s “GOP Insurgency” was a massive Dem spin hoax perpetrated against the GOP to sabotage their primary, in my opinion.

The Clinton machine constructs elaborate, spin operations (it’s comprehensive information warfare strategies they develop).  For instance, this Trump Impeachment spin drama (Trump-Ukraine) was in the works for months, along with the book, Gutsy Women,  Hillary and Chelsea are doing the media rounds hawking.  That book was ghost written by someone and meant to be a stage prop for Hillary to enter the 2020 race as  the “rightful President,  who had the election stolen from her”, but never fear she is going to fight to protect our democracy… if Democrats will only rally around her and do their patriotic duty to destroy Trump… “who is destroying our democracy.”  She’s going to con (strong-arm, if necessary) Democrats to unite behind her to deal with this existential crisis ( a crisis their spin show manufactures).  Okay, let’s be honest the one who goes around strong-arming Democrats is Bill Clinton (see 2016 Loretta Lynch tarmac meeting or photos of Clinton-Obama golfing at Martha’s vineyard in 2015).

I strongly suspect Trump never intended to be president, but wanted to use the publicity to boost his reality TV business.  I believe there was some kind of deal between Trump and Bill Clinton, where Trump would get all this mainstream media attention, running this “GOP Insurgency” con job.  Yes, I believe the Clintons and Trump both conned us in 2016.

I also suspect that in late 2015/early 2016, when the Clinton machine began unloading their mountains of Trump dirt, they’d been sitting on while running the Trump GOP Insurgency on mainstream media, Trump realized he had been double-crossed by Bill Clinton.  Trump doesn’t make deals with little people, he wants to deal only with the head honcho, which leads me to Bill Clinton, Trump’s old golfing buddy.

Unfortunately for the Clintons, Trump’s populist spin messaging worked better than anyone dreamed, plus many demoralized Republicans, used to always losing in the media messaging battle, joined the Trump train in hopes that finally some Republican would beat the Democrats at their own spin game.  Trump’s impossible to ignore reality TV show theatrics helped him enormously too.

If you wonder why the mainstream media has spent the entirety of Trump’s presidency whining about which Trump spokespeople should be allowed on CNN and MSNBC and trying to ban Trump from Twitter, it’s because Trump barged into their corrupt spin messaging turf and they aren’t used to a level playing field.  Biden was urging the mainstream media to ban Rudy Giuliani just this past weekend, because Biden claims Rudy will just lie.   Democrats make this claim as they are relentlessly running  corrupt spin messaging to shutdown Trump and anyone connected with him.  It’s a corrupt cesspool, where Dems wage orchestrated smear campaigns to ruthlessly achieve their political objectives and the mainstream media runs with it.  The corruption is so obvious, for instance, the mainstream media calls the Mueller probe an “investigation”  with Barr’s investigation it’s “dirt-digging” or a “scheme.  This is how the spin word games go.

When Trump won the election, he did not look happy and he had no real plans in place for actually being president.  I suspect his rage at the double-cross and being subjected to non-stop Dem smear operations, made him determined to adjust and instead of going back to his Reality TV show, he turned the US presidency into the biggest reality TV show in the world.

I strongly believe both campaigns in 2016 were thoroughly corrupt.  Both were engaged in seeking Russian dirt and both ran repulsive spin operations.  Trump also embraced the Dems  smear campaign tactics.

With that said, at some point both campaigns wholesale public corruption will become so flagrant and undeniable, especially if, as I would bet money on it, it’s a 2020 rematch of Hillary and Trump, that I wonder how our country will be able to hold together, as they run nuclear level scorched earth spin war 24/7.

America is in for a total spin nightmare, but if the corruption of both Trump and the Clintons ever gets exposed, the Clintons and Trump will join forces to survive – that is my prediction.  It will be the Clintons and Trump destroying any law enforcement effort that attempts to stop them.  They are above the law as long as they control the corrupt media spin operations in America.

I’ll remain forever, proudly, NeverTrump & NeverHillary.

Defending The Constitution always, that’s where my loyalty lies… not with any politicians or political party.

Update to my conspiracy theory ponderings, October 2, 2019:  Suppose Trump doesn’t even really know that his old golfing buddy was behind the entire “GOP Insurency” Dem spin hoax and instead relied on some media peeps to con Trump into believing they were supporting him and they gave Trump this billions of dollars worth of free media.  That might better explain Trump’s ranting about Jeff Zucker and Joe and Mika, lol,  that’s for sure.

Update, October 6, 2019:  As I was thinking a bit more about this, I remembered this other tidbit of information that had been reported – the Trump-Bill Clinton phone call right before Trump entered the race.  Here’s an August 5, 2015 report:

“According to several Trump sources (and one Clinton source) who spoke to the Post, the two men spoke over the phone in late May, shortly before Trump announced his run in June. During the call, the Trump sources said, Clinton “encouraged Trump’s efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party” and “analyzed Trump’s prospects and his desire to rouse the G.O.P. base.”

That conversation, said the anonymous Trump sources, certainly didn’t discourage the billionaire to run: while Clinton never outright told Trump to enter the race, he reportedly told Trump that he was “striking a chord with frustrated conservatives and was a rising force on the right,” and his tone was supposedly “encouraging.”

(This is something a political genius would tell someone with a desire to run for president, especially if that person was a known self-promoter, capable of sucking the air out of a room full of his opponents—and especially if the genius’s wife happened to be running in the party against that known self-promoter.)”

Update October 8, 2019:  Another tidbit to add to the my “GOP Insurgent” conspiracy theory came from Howard Stern, friend of Trump’s, who had Trump on his radio show many times.  From a 2017 report:

“Howard Stern has argued nobody was more keen for Hillary Clinton to win than Donald Trump himself.

The radio personality, who is America’s most notorious shock jock, said President Trump was being serious when he recently admitted to missing his “old life”.

In an interview with Reuters ahead of the 100-day mark of his presidency last week, Mr Trump said: “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.””

“Stern recounts being at Mr Trump’s 126-room Mar-a-Lago resort “when he first announced he was going to win” however it is unclear if he is referring to winning the Republican nomination or the November election.”

I don’t believe Trump supporters were patsies, I believe that mass media spin to the tune of billions of dollars in free media can sell just about anything to large number of Americans, then couple that with the anger within conservative circles that the GOP consistently lost to the Dem spin game.  Along came a guy who fought back in the media and was actually winning the spin game.  Added to this, among conservatives who jumped on board the Trump train a viewpoint was aggressively put forth that the Left’s culture war was destroying America and 2016 was our last best hope of saving America – the Flight 93 doctrine, a morally-bankrupt binary choice argument for Trump,  was born:

Impeachment ain’t 2016

This impeachment sideshow has fueled a massive information void, that will only grow.  What I mean by information void, is there’s such an overload of spin coming from domestic partisans and the American media (and probably hostile foreign info war efforts too), that the erosion of credibility will only continue to erode trust in all media sources of information and government officials.  Americans already have no common reliable sources of information to trust , but this scorched earth spin will turn the American information “systems’ into a flaming mass of confusion and competing “spin” (lies) dumpster fires.

The widespread public corruption, relentless smear campaigns and the widening double standards assure that we will have no institutions left to trust, especially when it comes to information.  The escalating pace of this insane spin war, also makes it hard to even keep track of unfolding news and decipher what is accurate and what has been “updated” or “corrected”.

America will become totally ungovernable without a dramatic course correction.

Our domestic scorched earth spin war will have no American winners, only a collapse of our American institutions, widespread corruption and chaos. There is no “at least my side isn’t as bad as” the other side, because both sides engaging in scorched earth spin war are totally corrupt. Spin war is sophisticated mass media information warfare and by its very nature is very corrupt.

It’s not all Dems fault or all Trump’s fault; it’s mostly the American people’s fault for being as lazy and self-indulgent as our corrupt leaders.  We the American people have bought into making excuses for public corruption committed by partisans we support and allowing double standards to corrode our political system and our own characters.

I believe this impeachment sideshow is a corrupt, orchestrated  Dem (Clinton machine) production, but the truth is Trump lies constantly and his own erratic tweeting and outbursts are likely to make it harder for Republicans in Congress to keep supporting him.   The thing Trump doesn’t understand is his tweets are public statements by the President of the United States, not just his recreational hobby.  Trump surrounds himself with a lot of moronic advisers and many of them will egg on Trump’s worst impulses, believing it will help Trump “win”.

The problem is impeachment isn’t the 2016 election, where he managed to win several Rust Belt states by gaining support from blue-collar voters; it’s Congress who will be voting.  If Trump goes full batshit crazy (which judging from his weekend tweeting looks like he’s well on the way) and listens to his idiotic SPIN commando flamethrowers, he might just turn off enough Republicans in Congress and find himself losing support or some may decide propping him up is causing more damage to the Republican brand and their own political futures than he’s worth.

Hard to tell for sure how crazy this is going to be, especially if the DOJ, Horowitz and Durham release reports of more corruption with the Dems’ scorched earth “Trump-Russia” farce in 2016.

I decided not to tweet about impeachment anymore, but I might write some blog posts – we’ll see.  Frankly, I think the Clintons and Trump deserve each other – same pathological lying, same corruption, and same smug disdain for playing by the rules.  Republicans would have been much better off if Trump had remained Bill Clinton’s golfing buddy, buying political influence among corrupt Dem politicians and running his stupid reality TV show.

A couple days ago, Kevin Williamson at National Review penned a piece, Prince Don, which perfectly described Trump:

“Trump’s character is in fact a practical liability, one that has seriously impeded his ability to pursue his agenda. His egoism, laziness, arrogance, and above all his habitual dishonesty are crippling. That is why he has been most effective on ordinary Republican priorities such as taxes and judges, those areas in which he can deputize such old swamp-dwelling dinosaurs as Mitch McConnell and the ladies and gentlemen of the Federalist Society to actually get things done. Left to his own devices, he’s an ordinary Twitter troll and conspiracy nut with very little in the way of direction or a coherent policy agenda.”

Williamson is glad Hillary didn’t win, doesn’t see an impeachable offense with what we know now, doesn’t want to see a President Elizabeth Warren and says, “Donald Trump cannot be gone soon enough.”

Watching how Trump’s SPIN commandos initially reacted last week following their Trumpian instincts, by run wildly ranting on Twitter and TV, with no strategy at all  and  Rudy wigged out completely on TV too, well, if the Trump Spin commandos revert back to their mindless, reflexive, ill-planned spin attacks and total strategic ineptitude, Trump is in for a rough time.  Trump’s brand of erratic tweet attacks and lack of a comprehensive strategy won’t beat a comprehensive Dem spin war/smear campaign coupled with a massive Dem legal eagles takedown.

Trump’s the most toxic leader I have ever seen – he plays his own team members against each other and he attacks his own team.  His team will have little coherent direction and non-stop in-fighting, which the Dems/media will work to feed.  Vicious divide and conquer spin strategies are their forte.

It’s going to be a huge mess. Impeachment ain’t 2016.

Impeachment sideshow rolls out

The Trump impeachment fiasco plods along.

I did not vote for Trump and will never vote for him.  I spent a lot of time in 2015 and 2016, blogging and commenting in online forums about my NeverTrump&NeverHillary position.  I believed then and still believe Donald J. Trump is totally unfit to be president, but here’s where I part company with all the #Resist Dems, who have worked tirelessly to destroy Trump’s presidency – I believe in respecting the results of elections.   President Trump was duly elected.  This #Resist Dem spin effort to discredit a lawful election is disgraceful and even more “deplorable” than Trump’s petty name-calling and totally undisciplined conduct, where he rambles on without properly studying issues or policy or even having a clear understanding of matters.

The Dem’s #Resist effort to takedown Trump is the most appallingly bad citizenship and corrupt effort I’ve ever seen, because they are shamelessly lying to incite the media mob and anti-Trumpers using spin garbage (orchestrated media spin attacks) 24/7, with no concern for how this is affecting America. It’s a ruthless “by any means necessary” information war.  The abuse of intelligence resources and corrupt spin efforts to takedown Trump has alarmed me the most.  Every Dem effort to takedown Trump is a coordinated media spin war effort.

This Trump-Ukraine “whistleblower” complaint is a repeat of the Steele dossier, relaying stuff  unnamed sources told him/her.  Why these sources were telling this “whistleblower” so much dirt on Trump and why this “whistleblower” was gathering all this Trump dirt is curious.  The credibility of the complaint seems to be weighted on the number of unnamed sources and their “positions in the US government”, just as the Steele dossier’s credibility was built on all these unnamed “sources close to the Kremlin” and Steele being some highly-respected former spy.

The “counter-intelligence” investigation of Trump began in 2016, before Trump was even elected and partisan Dems with access to US government intelligence continue to use US intelligence assets to wage a stealth spin information war against Trump.  In my mind, this stealth intel-war against Trump poses more of a threat than anything Trump has done so far (and he has done a helluva lot I disapprove of).  Even in this call with the Ukraine president, I find Trump even mentioning Biden and his son totally inappropriate. However, the Dem/mainstream media framing for their impeachment case against Trump seems very weak to me, especially their alleged “cover-up” spin.

What always seems to happen with these Dem/mainstream bombshell “beginning of the end” Trump spin hits is after the spin clouds begin to settle from the hit, along with Trump suffering some damage, the Dems and mainstream media inflict way more collateral damage on their own credibility. We’ll have to see how this impeachment spin drama unfolds. This grand cover-up spin coming from Dems, who excused Hillary running the State Department from an unsecured homebrew server in her basement, left me not knowing whether to laugh out loud at the absurdity or get angry at their galling hypocrisy.  Get this, Trump’s cover-up effort was securing transcripts of calls with foreign leaders in a highly secure US government system that had limited access and they’re claiming that was an abuse of the classification system.  Considering the number of “anonymous intel sourced” leaks to the media, that’s going to be a hard sell, lol.

Why on earth wouldn’t Trump trust the intel community?  Geesh, just look at the leaks.  What is standard security efforts when faced with internal leaks in any organization? obviously it’s – use a more secure system and limit access.  The same Dems who sold Hillary putting classified information on an unsecure homebrew server as no big deal are now going to argue Trump abused the classification system trying to secure his calls with foreign leaders on a restricted access official government server.

From all the Twitter buzz this week, the actual identity of the “whistleblower” is not known yet.  The NY Times ran some bio information, but other sources refuted that and attacked the NY Times for trying to expose the “whistleblower”.  I could be wrong about my hunch that it’s Sue Gordon, but I still believe her not being picked by Trump as DNI precipitated this “whistleblower” complaint.  All I know is there is no way this impeachment will fly for Dems if the “whistleblower’s” identity and credibility isn’t openly assessed and all these unnamed sources who provided the whistleblower this information are identified.  Why was the “whistleblower” gathering anti-Trump dirt from all these unnamed sources and why were these unnamed sources providing it – even this Trump call with the President of Ukraine?  Why were sources informing this “whistleblower” about a president’s call with a foreign leader?

Why do I refer to it as the “whistleblower”, well this person has no first-hand knowledge of anything… just like the Steele dossier’s “sources close to the Kremlin:…

Sean Davis at The Federalist wrote a piece yesterday that could throw a spoke in the wheel of Schiff’s impeachment dreams.  The IC IG complaint form appears to have been changed in August, waiving the requirement that a whistleblower have first-hand knowledge of the events.  Isn’t that convenient for this “whistleblower,” who even cites news articles…:

“Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings. This raises questions about the intelligence community’s behavior regarding the August submission of a whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump. The new complaint document no longer requires potential whistleblowers who wish to have their concerns expedited to Congress to have direct, first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing that they are reporting.

The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only “heard about [wrongdoing] from others.””

On Twitter, Adam Schiff tweets from August, mirroring this “whistleblower” complaint on Trump’s Ukraine phone call, and also Schiff promoting Sue Gordon circulated.  I suspect this “whistleblower” complaint was ghost-written by a group of Dem lawyers effort, including Adam Schiff.

If anti-Trump intel peeps altered the “whistleblower” requirements specifically to facilitate this complaint, well that would be quite an amazing scandal.  It seems sure more details will be revealed as this impeachment sideshow rolls along.

Another Clinton Spin strategy launch?

Decided to write a short blog post on the Trump-Ukraine scandal, which smells like a retread of the Trump-Russia scandal.

The Democrats rushed to relaunch their “impeachment inquiry” in the House yesterday and competing narratives swirl about the allegations against nefarious corruption committed by both Trump and Biden, but here’s the thing – this Trump-Ukraine scandal smells like a boring rewrite of the Trump-Russia scandal.

It smells like another Clinton spin strategy has been launched.

The Trump-Ukraine allegations will leave Trump’s presidency immobilized and his campaign mired in this scandal, but because there are serious questions about Biden’s son and Biden’s actions while vice president, this scandal will make Biden toxic among Dems, who are already concerned about his ability to defeat Trump.

So, the Trump-Ukraine scandal also knocks Biden out of contention and would leave Warren as the Dems frontrunner.  Warren has already staked out positions too far left to win in the general election and beyond talking about her plans, she’s churned out written plans galore.

The Trump-Ukraine debacle will leave a path for Hillary to prance in, like an avenging queen, who had her “1st female president” crown wrongfully stolen from her .  Women might be energized to support her as their last best hope to defeat the villainous Trump.

That’s my hunch so far, because this Trump-Ukraine scandal smells so much like Trump-Russia.

As to the mysterious whistleblower, my hunch so far is Sue Gordon, who Trump did not choose to replace Dan Coats as DNI.  The Trump call with the Ukraine president occurred in late July, Gordon resigned her position August 8th and it was days later, August 12th. when this IG complaint was filed.  That’s my hunch.  The whistleblower reportedly is represented by a lawyer connected to Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer.  This whistleblower complaint smells like Comey’s firing and his leaked memos.

Guess we’ll all have to stay tuned.

9/25/2019 2:18 p.m. – Decided to add a bit to my thoughts about this latest hysterical media spin launch. The timing for leaking this whistleblower’s complaint seems designed to preempt and derail any of the Horowitz/DOJ/Durham findings from gaining any traction in the mainstream media. It feels like a massive spin storm designed to send the mainstream media, Dems and any NeverTrump mouthpieces still left racing down a Trump Impeachment rabbit hole.

The mainstream media rushes to latch onto any Dem spin attacks, without even asking any questions and by fully buying into the Democrats political framing of the talking points, which land in their lap (or are leaked to them).

Sure, there are Trump-following media who do this same thing, but the Trump spin effort is always chaotic, because it all comes from Trump’s impulsive comments or tweets. Trump doesn’t do elaborate political strategy like Dem operatives and especially not like Bill Clinton and his cadre of loyal operatives. Trump is more a guerilla type spin operator – unpredictable and good at blowing up or disrupting carefully constructed Dem spin narratives.

Anyway, this Trump-Ukraine spin launch was carefully timed and orchestrated.

The “beginning of the end”… again

Another anti-Trump spin attack launched this week, just as the latest Brett Kavanaugh smear attack started to implode (see my previous post – Gut journalism).   This latest anti-Trump spin attack began by being hyped as another of those “beginning of the end” level  Trump corruption stories, the media and Democrats spin up, accompanied with bellows of outrage that Trump must be impeached now.

This allegation asserts a former intel official went to the IG about Trump pressuring the president of Ukraine to investigate Biden’s son during a phone call last summer.  Congressman Adam Schiff, pontificating Democrat, who hyped the Mueller Report as the magic bullet to takedown Trump, has been plastering the media with outraged diatribes about “protecting our democracy”… again.

I had pulled out some novels I’d had sitting here for several years and was caught up in a Charles Martin novel, When Crickets Cry, and only skimmed the news about this latest Trump corruption story, but figured it would be best to just go back to reading my novel.  And that’s what I did.  I also have been getting fabric strips ready to make another Amish knot rug, so despite all the media and Dem hysteria that “our democracy is under attack” and the Hannity counter-spin about the nefarious Deep State, well, here’s the thing –  everyone involved in this scorched earth spin information war – Trump, Trump defenders, Democrats, the media –  are all  “destroying our democracy” and all of the spin combatants inflict way more damage to our institutions than America’s hostile foreign adversaries could ever dream of.

Today, there’s a video circulating of Joe Biden, as vice president, bragging about pressuring Ukraine to fire a prosecutor investigating his son’s business deals in Ukraine, Trump claims he never says anything inappropriate (if anyone believes that they must not have listened to Trump for even 5 minutes), and here are two tweets that sort of form the demarcation line in this latest spin battle:

Frankly, it’s important to know who this former intelligence official is and if he/she has any personal animus toward Trump.  It’s important to know what exactly Trump said during this phone call.  But here’s the thing, Trump could have abused presidential power by pressuring the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden’s son and Biden’s son really might be guilty of  serious corruption in his business dealings in Ukraine – both things might be true.

Since we live in the age where everything everyone posted online or said in public now  floats  somewhere in our online trash heaps, so not surprisingly, today a video of Joe Biden bragging about getting the Ukrainian prosecutor, who had been investigating his son, fired emerged.  None of this exonerates Trump, if he pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Biden’s son, but it does speak to the rampant corruption, on both sides, in Washington and it speaks to the craziness of this scorched earth spin war.

I’m feeling totally justified in my decision not to vote for any of the 2020 Dem candidates and assuredly not Trump, who behaves just like the most corrupt Dem smear merchants.

Peggy Noonan wrote an excellent piece, Why They’ll Never Stop Targeting Kavanaugh, in the Wall Street Journal a couple days ago.  She explains several reasons why the attacks on Kavanaugh will never stop and here are a few:

“Because the authority and legitimacy of future rulings that are not pleasing to progressives (most prominently, perhaps, on Roe v. Wade) can be undermined through footnotes that say “the 5-4 decision was joined by a justice credibly accused of sexual assault.”

Because the steady drum of allegations diminishes not only Justice Kavanaugh’s stature but that of the court itself, which will be helpful when Democrats attempt to pack it.

Because the crazier parts of the progressive left increasingly see politics as public theater, with heroes and villains, cheers and hisses from the audience, and costumes, such as outfits from “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Because modern politics is, for the lonely and strange on all sides, entertainment and diversion. And one’s people must be entertained.”

The problem with Noonan’s analysis is it’s only half of America’s problem with smear campaigns and outrageous spin attacks.

Trump has become the spewing fire and brimstone spin televangelist for Republicans, embracing the same corrupt spin war as Democrats.  Trump revels in the Dem/media spin attacks against him, because they bolster his “victim” status and form the centerpiece of his tent revival martyr routine.  There is Saint Trump, the most maligned “victim” in America, taking all the hits just for his followers.  Trump tweets and engages in his impromptu pressers, where he unflinchingly faces the White House press corps… perfecting his “one man against the media mob spin optic”.

Trump, the one man reality show, replaced White House press briefings and Trump doesn’t bother with carefully constructed spin narratives or widely circulated talking points like Democrats, instead he delights in surprise shoot-from-the-hip, fact-free spontaneous smear attacks against the media, Democrats, even celebrities who tick him off.  Trump turned the GOP into a raging, seething tent revival scorched earth spin war against the Left that is as vile, corrupt and damaging to our  democratic institutions as anything Democrats, the media or far Left dish out against Trump, Republicans and conservatives.

Trump isn’t alone in the spin sideshows.  Elizabeth Warren has been garnering praise in the mainstream media for her dedication to spending hours working through lines of “fans” and doing “selfie” photos with each and every one…  Here’s a Slate piece gushing over Warren’s dedication:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s “selfie line” may be a “political phenomenon,” according to CNN, but it’s also a misnomer, twice over: The photos that supporters end up with aren’t technically selfies—campaign aides snap them—and no one waits in a line, or at least they didn’t Monday evening at Warren’s rally in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park. It was more of a blob.

“We were told that that was the line,” a rally attendee named Alanna, a therapist, told me, nodding toward a large crowd of people to the east of the Washington Square Arch. “And then someone told me that wasn’t the line. And then someone told me that was the line. So I’m not sure where the line is. But it feels like just a clump.” (She preferred not to provide her last name for professional reasons.)

Most of the attendees were happy to join the clump regardless. “If she can go through all these people and take selfies, I can wait it out for at least 45 minutes,” said Bri Held, an executive assistant. The wait time turned out to be quite a bit longer than that.

Addressing a crowd of 20,000 earlier in the evening, Warren implied at one point that she might forgo selfie hour, which has quickly become a campaign signature (and which, again, does not involve actual selfies) that night. But she was just kidding. “Some things we just don’t mess with,” she said.

And they truly do not. Warren’s staff estimated that she’s taken 59,000 of the photos thus far. (If all 59,000 people posted them, just imagine the social media impressions.) The campaign is even trying to build on the selfie momentum. On Monday, a campaign surrogate said to the crowd, “I want you all to take a selfie with a new friend you just made.” Selfie-takers were then instructed to tag their pics on social media. Many obliged.”

So, Warren’s “selfie” lines aren’t really lines, but “clumps of people” milling about.  Her “selfies” aren’t really “selfie” photos, but campaign staffers taking photos and trying to recruit the clumps of people to post the photos online to amplify online attention.  From campaign bumper stickers to online groupie photos, I guess.

What America really needs is not more Republicans or Democrats.  Trump isn’t the last bulwark protecting America from the Leftist culture war zealots and Democrats aren’t the last bulwark protecting America from Trump, The Authoritarian.

We need more Americans dedicated to American principles rather than acting like slavish groupies clinging to spin kings and queens or culture and political warriors dedicated to partisan causes and personalities.  It’s time to wean ourselves off the celebrity politics and letting popular culture battles trample every bit of common ground we should hold dear.
