Cowards!
The President’s schedule for yesterday.
Note that at 4:45 pm, the president found time to meet with the Vice President and the Secretary of Defense, but none of them faced the American people and more importantly the troops, to speak about a 2-star general being killed in Afghanistan. Cowards!

American Dirge
The prelude to what is to come for the few soldiers President Obama will abandon in Afghanistan struck yesterday – an American 2-star general killed while visiting an Afghan officers’ academy. Our clueless leader from behind won’t do more than mutter a few words about this being a sad loss for America, then shuffle off to the next round of golf. The press will focus on the “security lapses” that left more than a dozen others wounded, but few will place the blame where it belongs – at the door of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Nightwatch commentary includes this grim analysis:
“The tribal victory narrative features the theme of driving the foreigners out and debasing them as they left. That is what the mujahedin claim they did to the Soviet forces and what they say their ancestors did to the British before them. The Soviets had to fight their way out, on the road from Kabul to Termez on the Amu Darya. The departing coalition forces should expect a similar set of challenges, especially as the withdrawal quickens later this year.”
Here’s my take on the situation from June 8, 2014, “Abandoned In Afghanistan” (in the comments I worried about force protection – no worries is the pat answer from this hapless President).
So, our fearless leaders in Washington from the President, to the Secretary of Defense, to the Chairman of the JCS, and even the Secretary of the Army ducked for cover, releasing a written statement, to avoid even hinting that we might have an iota of spine left in America to stand up against the world’s miscreants. They’re all hiding behind spokesmen. Maybe they’ll send out one of the girls from the State Department to brief us and they can even borrow my hashtag sign: #AmericanPaperTiger.

More border disorder
Watching the political left subvert the US Constitution on so many fronts lately demonstrates they believe they possess the political power to frame the entire debate. The mainstream media willingly aids and abets their propaganda blitz, by buying into the terms the political left dictates. We now get admonished that it’s racist and cruel to refer to these “illegal immigrants” as “illegal”, no, no, now they are “refugees” fleeing grossly exaggerated threats at home. Any thinking person, should be able to discern this disinformation campaign in full-swing, but the mainstream media definitely is buying into the propaganda. The choice of “refugee” serves an important legal purpose, with “refugees” being entitled to legal protections under US immigration laws.
By forcing their terms on us, we also lose our ability to discuss the issue from any other point of view, because they usurp the moral high ground and caricature any opposition as far-right bigots, haters, or potential right-wing extremists, neatly silencing all opposition. This technique has worked on racial issues, gay marriage, abortion/reproductive matters, climate change, and many, many other hot buttons issues. We should recognize the semantical ploy by now, but somehow their relentless talking points technique works, as reporters, pundits and the American public, fall into line, buying the new definition, which neatly changes the terms of the argument. The political left runs on cheap emotional manipulation as the definitive measure of the merits of issues, believing that poll numbers determine the issues in America. Sadly, the political right now governs by poll numbers too and few politicians will brave the potential political backlash that comes from rowing against the tide.
So, here’s where the absurdity of the situation hits me, Rahm Emanuel, mayor of gang-banging Chicago, is offering to take in “refugees” from Central American gang violence. Now, ponder that for a moment – yes, these poor “refugees” (many reportedly with gang affiliations) will find a safe haven in Chicagoland. Yes, of course, this all makes perfect sense ……….. we’re ostensibly rescuing them from gang violence, only to send them to a city besieged by gang violence. Where is the public dissent, calling “bullshit” to President Obama and the left’s pile of crap that you’d need hip waders to navigate.
C’mon, yes, we’ve got lots of stupid people, but it takes collective hypnosis to not see this blatant LIE. Oh, libertybelle, this post will add you to another list of haters. You would turn your back on these poor “refugee” children., blah, blah, blah. Look, Glenn Beck did his humanitarian caravan a week ago and the left hijacked that, along with these supposed “Christian charities”, whom the federal government is paying hundreds of millions of dollars, ostensibly to care for these “poor refugee children”, deftly bamboozling the media and the American public on this complete lawlessness spearheaded by this White House.
George Will chimed in supporting blanket amnesty for this flood of illegal immigrants today, so the push among America’s elites seems like a united political front, with the Republican power brokers decidedly unmotivated to speak out against this lawlessness. The issue isn’t whether America can absorb all these immigrants, which sounds like Will’s argument. The issue boils down to where does this lawlessness end with a porous border, meaningless US immigration laws and complete breakdown of control over who comes across our Southern border. A green light invites a rising flood, not a solution to stem the flow. Securing the border is a national security necessity. Pretending these illegal immigrants are going to assimilate and embrace American values seems a dangerous delusion and potentially a threat to our national security, as this mess escalates. Of course, it’s easier to do the feel-good, “I care about the downtrodden” sound bites and not be accused of being a “hater”.
And frankly, anyone encouraging poor Central American folks to negotiate with drug cartels and criminals to get to America or sending young children alone and presuming other people will provide care is negligent in the extreme in their parental role – there I said it. This isn’t like Jewish parents sending their kids to escape the Holocaust in Germany. Sadly, these poor people are being used by left-wing American politicians as political pawns and let Nancy Pelosi open her home and treat these illegals like baby Jesus and then I might begin to believe her despicable pandering.
Without securing the border and stopping this flood, the problem will escalate.

Obama’s girls strike again….
The bimbos at the US State Department strike again (ok GMD, they really are bimbos) … this time it was Marie Harf’s turn to make a complete fool of herself (and the United States), because these amateur nincompoops are the face the world puts on us. Hot Air blog offers, “U.S. State Dept. accuses Russia of acts of war against Ukraine” and the British UK Telegraph ran with, “MH17: US says Russia planning to send rebels ‘more powerful’ rocket launchers”.
Why the Obama administration continues to allow these clueless twits at the State Department to discuss military matters, I have no idea, and one can only wonder who is providing them with the analysis, but their “information” lacks credibility and makes us look like a banana republic. After this national nightmare, known as the Obama presidency, is over, perhaps these women at the State Department can offer their services to North Korea, as their “information” is beginning to sound much like that propaganda. Hey, Dennis Rodman would probably even volunteer to do the honors of introducing these ladies to Kim Jong Un.
I apologize in advance for posting so much of KGS Nightwatch’s 7/25/2014 edition, but the comments on this latest State Department news release explain the matter brilliantly and succinctly (plus I laughed at the dry humor at the choice of words):
“Comment: Today’s statement contains less information than meets the ear. The first red flag is the admission that the new evidence is human source information, not radio intercepts or imagery. Human source information is not the best evidence of military events that are observable by technological collectors. Such military events include convoy movements and artillery shelling from Russia.
US TV ran video clips of artillery fire, although the source of the information about shelling is from human sources, according to State, not ground-based video or other imagery sources. The video was file footage, but not labeled as such. Nor did it identify whose guns were firing and where the firing occurred. It was electronic age disinformation.
Another concern is that the shelling has been taking place for days to weeks, according to the press conference. However, no Ukrainian regime, army or National Guard propagandists or spokesmen have made claims about Russian artillery fire. It is inconceivable that Kyiv would remain silent about an act of aggression of this magnitude.
The third concern is the admission that some human sources reported that Russia “intends” to deliver heavier weapons and more powerful rocket launchers to the separatists. Intent, a mental condition, may be inferred from behavior of some kind: words spoken or physical action taken or both. Thus, for this evidence to be credible someone had to have heard someone else speaking or to have seen physical activities that imply intent, but not planning. The sources did not report that Russia “plans” to deliver equipment, only that it intends to do so. The State Department spokesperson also was not questioned about what people in the Russian leadership have this intent or when they formulated it and intend to act on it.
Finally, a Russian decision to provide more and heavier weapons to the separatists plus artillery fire support would mark a major shift in Russian policy for handling the Ukraine situation. The evidence could be accurate, but a shift of this magnitude would have many ripple effects in the open source information domain for many reasons. Those ripples have not been reported by any open sources.
At this point, today’s press statement featured an unprofessional disclosure of raw intelligence. The shelling has not occurred. The other information is unconfirmed.“(my emphasis)
There you have it folks – trust KGS Nightwatch to provide brilliant analysis and blunt …. “unconfirmed” and “unprofessional”….. yep, Obama and his girls at work, yay for “girl power” taking over military matters in America.

Excellent info on the border mess
The Conservative Tree House blog offers information on this border mess that you won’t find in the mainstream media. They’re doing investigative reporting over there and here’s a must read on the non-profits cashing in on the illegal immigrant debacle, receiving huge grants from Obama’s DHS and HHS. Here’s the link:

Power to the people (the states)
It felt good this morning to read Andrew McCarthy’s piece, “An Obama-Caused Border Disaster”, not only because it’s a brilliantly researched and argued bit of fact-finding and fact-telling, but also because he clearly exposes all those hunches we had that this illegal alien “crisis” wasn’t really an unexpected happening, but was a clearly orchestrated bit of Obama and the radical left’s long-term plans come to fruition.
The icing on the cake in McCarthy’s piece, sweetened by sound constitutional footing, is his reasoning on the power vested in states:
“And if a renegade United States government is not going to secure the borders of the United States, the states must secure their borders or surrender. As the Supreme Court recognized in 1837, each state has a sovereign right and duty of self-defense — one that is never “more appropriately exercised” than in preventing her citizens from being
exposed to the evil of thousands of foreign emigrants arriving there, and the consequent danger of her citizens being subjected to a heavy charge in the maintenance of those who are poor. It is the duty of the state to protect its citizens from this evil.”
There have been a few times when I disagreed with Mr. McCarthy’s arguments in the past, but on this one, he certainly did his homework on the back story of the Obama administration’s plotting in this border “crisis”. Definitely make time to read the full article!

High Noon at the border
Lest you all think I wandered off into lalaland about caring for these illegal immigrant children in my last post, well I haven’t. The truth is that until some politicians get their heads out of their patooties, these children are here and more are surely on the way. And whether they get deported in a day or month or never, they still need to be sheltered, fed and supervised in a humane manner – this is required, because we are civilized human beings, not because of politics. Of course, Glenn Beck does everything for publicity and to sell more books, but that aside these children need to be cared for until the politicians decide on a solution. President Obama clearly does not have any coherent plan to deal with this escalating crisis, so here is an opportunity for governors and private citizens to band together and act. Sure, “immigration” is a federal function, but a humanitarian crisis within a state certainly is a state and local issue. Time to rise to the occasion and deal with these children’s immediate needs first.
At the same time a real, permanent solution must be found to quell this tide of illegal immigration and anyone hoping this President changes his cowardly, mealy-mouthed response at this late date is either a complete moron, a hopeless ideologue or insane. President Obama does not know how to solve real problems, there you have the truth. He never really worked doing real stuff in his life; he lives in the world of political theory, not real world problems. He thinks his political ideology will solve real problems, when the truth is you have to roll up your sleeves and get down in the ditches and dig long, hard hours to resolve most real world problems. It usually means you end up leaving the political ideology at home and turn to basic moral tenets (our religious faith, for many of us) to make it through the rough times each day. A political solution must be reached; expecting President Obama to craft it is delusional. So, that leaves us with the horde in Congress to act responsibly and reach a consensus to quell the flow of these children from Central America, compose a comprehensive law to deal with securing the border, how illegal immigrants will be processed, and allocating funding to accomplish this. Securing the border must be the primary objective, because short of that, everything else rests as photo-op politics, not real solutions.
Russ Vaughn over at the American Thinker wrote an interesting piece, “Militarize Our Border? O’Reilly, Here’s Your Plan”, on policing the border using US Armed Forces. He states:
“Now comes the rub: liberals will scream to high heaven that our federal military cannot be used to police law violators on American soil, a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act. However, troops in federal service have sworn an oath to protect this nation from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Consider if you will that some of those poised on the south side of the U.S.-Mexican border intent on illegal entry into this country, in violation of clearly promulgated immigration laws, are foreign enemies determined to cross that border, subject to military capture and incarceration. Whether or not our military has legal standing to determine illegal border crossers to search for terrorists embedded within their masses is a legal issue that will no doubt rise to the level of our Supreme Court.”
The problem in America is that the States and American people too often turn to Washington for leadership, awaiting solutions that never come, when The Constitution does not tie our hands to act on many issues confronting us. Immigration, per se rests in the federal purview, but “we the people” and the States, rarely exert ourselves to carve out bold swaths left for us to decide within our constitutional framework. States boldly acting in regards to the humanitarian crisis unfolding would give the States public support and clout when challenging President Obama’s political reactionary responses, which rest upon endless gauging poll numbers, consultations with focus groups and other political groups. If State and local leaders could come up with real solutions for the humanitarian crisis and demonstrate a real ability to act, the political support would start to shift dramatically away from the President. People gravitate toward real leadership, it’s human nature. In those border states, the real leaders need to start banding together and quickly coming up with plans of action and then act.
A federal response must be reached and at this point securing the border should be of paramount importance, to quell flow of illegals. How quickly that can be reached might be dramatically impacted by States acting to take charge of the humanitarian crisis and forcing a showdown at High Noon with the lame Obama response. Rick Perry should spearhead a plan for Texas quickly, then demand federal dollars for this emergency. He should invite the press in and make them cover this chaos the Obama administration instigated and continues to encourage.
