The odds of Trump making a great deal with Russia

The odds of Trump making a great deal with Russia are so minuscule, that it’s a sure bet Putin will come out the winner.

That’s my prediction.

“In recent days it’s been reported that President Trump wants to meet with President Vladimir Putin alone, one-on-one, at the beginning of their July 16th summit meeting.
“President Donald Trump plans to meet one-on-one with Vladimir Putin at the start of their July 16 summit in Helsinki, Finland, according to a person familiar with the plans, before allowing other aides to join the highly anticipated encounter with the Russian leader.”

The Trump-hating Left, some remnants of the Never Trump crowd and a sizable part of the mainstream media invariably revert to predictable and overblown conspiracy theories and seeing ominous signs of “authoritarianism” or “Russian collusion” behind every Trump action.  So, immediately following this report of Trump wanting to meet with Putin alone, Twitter erupted with allegations that Trump is meeting with his handler, Putin.

Pulling back from that Trump Derangement Syndrome ledge, it seems to me that Trump’s cagey comments, where he bends over backwards to praise Putin, could be that Trump fears the Russians do have dirt on him or perhaps he does have Russian financial dealings that he never disclosed or it could be that Trump, who loathes weakness,  respects strong-men type despots.  Then again, it might be that this one-on-one type meeting is the Trump deal-making style, where Trump believes he can size up, woo, and seal these foreign policy “deals” with America’s adversaries.  The Trump buttering up adversaries might work on chumps Trump dealt with in the business world, but it will never work with America’s most committed adversaries.

Back in 2015, when Donald J. Trump entered the 2016 presidential race, his coterie of supporters, selling “the Trump mystique”, often used the talking point that Trump is a great businessman and dealmaker.  This belief is still held by Trump followers, who fill stadiums at his rallies and by the same pundits who sold that 2015 talking point, despite the evidence from his many sketchy and failed business deals and the growing mountain of evidence from his “dealmaking” from the Oval Office.

Trump acts off of impulse and unbridled emotions, often behaving like a hysterical teenage girl rather than a grown man.  Along with the unchecked emotions, he operates from the belief that he is smarter than everyone else and ergo whatever decisions he makes are infallible.  He also frequently makes comments lamenting how former presidents created these foreign policy messes and left the mess for him to clean up. 

Every president inherits some messes and more often than not, presidents leave office without having achieved all they had hoped to achieve.  Where Trump differs from previous presidents is that he is singularly narcissistic, singularly clueless about governmental and foreign policy matters and he is the singularly most intellectually lazy president in modern history.  He knows very little about the subjects he’s making consequential decisions about for America.

While Trump mouthpieces were giddy about Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong Un and sold Trump’s ridiculously overblown assertions about the great deal he struck with Kim Jong Un, with many even proclaiming that Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, it now looks like Trump was handily played by the North Koreans.  Trump, without consulting U.S. military leaders, agreed to pause our military training exercises in the region and he got nothing in return from Kim Jong Un.

So, Kim Jong Un scored a major propaganda coup with the meeting, plus all of America’s adversaries learned that when Trump wants his critics on the Left to respect him and desperately wants to walk away with a deal, he’s willing to impulsively give away a lot… without any consultation with his advisers.  This is the Trump negotiating style.

Couple Trump’s impulsive style with his aversion to paying attention to details, aversion to reading his briefing books, refusal to listen to military and foreign policy experts, or trust U.S. intelligence assessments, well, Trump really is that “loose cannon”, his political enemies dubbed him during the campaign.

Along with the reports about Trump wanting to meet Putin alone first, there are reports that Trump hasn’t read the briefing reports for this upcoming summit either and it’s apparent that once again he’s not preparing for an important meeting.  It’s obvious Putin will walk away the winner and Trump is likely to give away a lot, again.  I expect Trump to agree to cast some legitimacy on Russia’s annexation of Crimea and hand-off Syria to Russia and Assad.  In return America will get a ramped up “Trump/Russian collusion” domestic information spin war from the Left and mainstream media and our allies will grow more wary of America as a reliable ally.

There’s one other predictable outcome.  Other Trump cabinet officials will be jetting around the world  for months after this summit, trying to clean up Trump’s messes that are sure to come from Trump’s reckless, impetuous and egomaniacal impulses.

Oh, and of course Trump will be tweeting that he struck the best deal ever…

America’s black vomit

Whenever you think our American political freak show can’t become more bizarre, just wait a day or two.  Since 2015, when Donald J. Trump, tacky, brash, longtime Democrat funder, reality TV star, entered the 2016 presidential race, our national political news became The Trump Show.

President Trump, a leader who prefers a loudmouthed, ill-informed carnival barker approach to setting the moral tone of his presidency, remains more a symptom of our dysfunctional American polity than the disease.  Trump is like black vomit, which although startling and jarring to see, remains but an outward sign of bleeding in your digestive tract.  If you start puking up black vomit, it’s a sign of some serious underlying problem.   Trust me, from my experience,  when I tell you, black vomit is an alarming sight.

Here again, America’s black vomit doesn’t only spew from President Trump’s lips.  It  spews from both left and right, from prominent American politicians and  “thought leaders” down to rabid, brain-dead citizens taking to both literal streets and the internet by-ways.

America endures political incitement efforts 24/7.  President Trump and Maxine Waters level incitement may be direct assaults on our civil order, but they are not alone.  The relentless media scorched earth SPIN information war being waged via all avenues of information – on TV, on social media and online forums and even in our entertainment, bombard us non-stop with extreme politicization.

Along with the Trump/Waters nuclear option verbal attacks, many other partisan verbal battles continue across the American media landscape.  Weaponized words bombard us daily, blowing up not only every vestige of civility in our culture, but also reducing our language to a minefield of hidden meanings and subterfuge of cynical political distortions and fabrications.  We are now living in an America where it really does seem to be a relativistic hell depending on what the meaning of  “is” is.

A Trump mouthpiece, David Bossie,  uttered the phrase “cotton pickin” to a black pundit on Fox News and America erupted into a racial debate, even though around the South, the phrase “cotton pickin”, being uttered by both blacks and whites,  is as ubiquitous as sweet tea or pecan pie.

Jim Webb, former U.S. senator, wrote a gut-check op-ed about our extreme politicization of our language and crushing political correctness.  Webb writes:

So, let’s sum this up. The host did not know what Mr. Bossie meant by using the phrase “cotton picking” and indicated that he and Fox News do not agree with it. In its opening sentence on the controversy, Yahoo characterized “cotton picking” as a “racist phrase.” And now I guess the rest of us are supposed to put down “cotton picking” as a cultural no-no that cannot be uttered in public because it violates the ever-growing lexicon of political correctness.

Really? Let me offer a few thoughts.

First, “Cotton picker” has long been a common phrase in much of the South, with no racial connotations. Throughout my life it has been slung around with about the same level of camaraderie as, “hey, dude.” When I was a kid there was even a country song, mostly instrumental, called “Cotton Picker.” Another popular song, sung mostly on the white folks bandwidth, laments “Them old cotton fields back home.” The phrase “cotton picking” has been a part of normal usage for generations from white to white, as in, “you don’t know a cotton picking thing about what you’re talking about.”

Second, I don’t know Mr. Payne but if he has Southern heritage he should not feel unique, personally or as an African-American, to have “some relatives who picked cotton.”

Memo to Mr. Payne: I’m proud of my mother’s journey, Joel. Very few people in this country of any ethnic origin had it harder than my mother, and nobody complained less. And along the way, my mother picked a LOT of cotton. She also picked a lot of strawberries. And harder still for the energy it took, she chopped a lot of cotton – not many people even remember what that meant.

President Trump and Maxine Waters are two peas in a putrid demagogic pod.  They may point at each other and howl about the awfulness of the other, but the truth is they both behave as vile, ignorant, boorish cretins.  That is the truth.  Sadly, both of them place their partisan flame-throwing and incitement efforts above setting decent examples of civil behavior.  They have plenty of company among the media at fueling these word game controversies.  In the wee hours, the other night I retweeted this one:

The Left’s outrage machine, which imposes political correctness on America, feeds off  of word controversy, much of it generated via spin attacks they wage on social media.  The right moved into playing this faux outrage game when  Trump parlayed his personal Twitter feed into a potent front against the Left and mainstream media’s lock on controlling the “national conversation” in America.  Many pro-Trump pundits laud him as being a “disruptor” and equate his fact-free, high-octane tweets and vicious name-calling as  “winning” against the Left’s spin, but each battle tears a bit more of the soul of our country apart.

Looking back, when Barack Obama became president a longtime political barrier was demolished.  A black man holding the highest elected office in America rightly garnered a great deal of media attention.  However, the deep partisan divides, even in 2008, created constant partisan flashpoints and fissures of unrest.

Our present bizarre political climate didn’t form in a vacuum.  It follows decades of polarizing Leftist SPIN information warfare waged against the Right and the American people by the Left and mainstream media.  The Clinton media gurus introduced the SPIN type info war into American politics and from there it blossomed into an all-out culture war against the Right and conservatives.  President Obama used the Oval Office to foment racial discord and aid and abet the Black Lives Matter street activism against the police.  Anger and feelings of political alienation fed the Right, which led to the Tea Party movement.

In 2016, both parties sold their souls to two very corrupt, extreme narcissists, who were willing to do or say anything to win.  The fall-out from 2016 still litters our political landscape and the ruthless scorched earth information war continues, unabated.

America loses when morally bankrupt politicians and media promote and perpetuate this extremely corrupt spin information warfare against the American people.  Spin cycles churn at such a fast rate now that perceptions and reactions far outpace the rate at which facts begin to catch up.  Each side works to capitalize on that fact-void window of opportunity to lob verbal assaults, all to try to galvanize public opinion among our increasingly gullible and easily led public, which prefers to react rather than think or carefully study issues.  It’s a shameless media shell game to dupe the American people, who have been brainwashed on Oprahesque emoting for decades.  Neither side will ever win this spin mass media information war.

Only when some principled leaders on both sides renounce this scorched earth spin information war and begin the difficult process of reconstructing some common ground in our political landscape will we be able to begin rebuilding and uniting America around some shared American values again.

Digging out from under this suffocating pile of spin rubbish won’t be easy, but each small effort at rejecting reactionary spin sets us on a better path.  I’m trying to take time to sift through these endless spin bombardments.  My goal is to cultivate a habit of rejecting joining in any spin-driven outrage…  from either side.

It’s way past time for Americans to calm down for a change.  Let’s all stop being mindless reactionaries and work at learning how to be good citizens, who protect and respect The Constitution of the United States.  Even more than that let’s treat all people with respect.

The smell of a manufactured crisis

The reporting on the current American illegal alien high drama reminds me of  the highly sensationalized crisis of Syrian refugees flooding western Europe a few years ago.  I wrote a blog post, Adding It Up,  back in 2015, where I jotted down the amounts spent by a group of Syrian refugees, which had 4 adults and one child, chronicled in a Washington Post piece, titled, The Black Route, by Anthony Faiola.

This chronicle was intended to pull at your heartstrings recounting the trials and travails of this group, but what struck me was that this group, if their accounting is truthful, spent over $20,000 to flee Syria and traverse Eastern Europe to arrive in Austria.  I wondered where on earth they managed to come up with that amount of money to pay smugglers and to acquire a smart phone, which was needed to communicate via encrypted apps used to send and receive information to avoid apprehension, direct refugees to aid and relay messages.

This chronicle also mentioned NGOs along the route, set-up to assist refugees.  I wondered what groups were funding these NGOs, to not only aid refugees, but also to help fuel this refugee crisis into western Europe.  Common sense, upon reading these details, led me to suspect there were politically motivated groups working to foment the Syrian refugee crisis in Europe, playing on the misery of poor refugees.

Fast forward to this current child separation illegal immigration drama, with children being separated from their parents, the Left and media hysterically spinning this story to fuel anger and rage at President Trump… right when the IG report on the FBI and DOJ’s handling of the Clinton email investigation was released.  The timing of the media hysteria about these children was obviously orchestrated.  The hysterical talking points are obviously orchestrated too.

The perplexing issue for me is not the policy, it’s the way this crisis seems totally manufactured.  If you were an illegal with a child, attempting to enter the United States and you knew that there was a zero tolerance policy in place or even knew the border agents were ramping up apprehensions, shouldn’t that lead to a decrease in illegal crossings?

Listening to the DHS secretary yesterday, she mentioned dramatic increases in illegals flooding the border.  Long before the sensationalized news stories of illegal alien parents being separated from their children in the U.S. circled the globe the gossip along the illegal alien trail spread, so wouldn’t you expect a decrease in parents with children heading to the U.S border instead of dramatic increases?

This brought to mind the Syrian refugee crisis and once again, instead of wondering about the child separation policy, I began to wonder if there are political groups organizing, funding, encouraging,  and working in Mexico and Central America to foment this border crisis?  Are these groups working in concert with Democrats to orchestrate this crisis?  And is the mainstream media complicit in selling an orchestrated crisis to damage President Trump and aid Democrats in the upcoming midterms?

It just smells like more orchestrated agitation propaganda being played against the American people… again.

Update:

Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) on Tuesday dismissed a legislative proposal backed by Republican leaders to keep immigrant families together at the border, arguing that President Trump could fix the problem more easily with a flick of his pen.

“There are so many obstacles to legislation and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense,” Schumer told reporters. “Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it.”

Asked if that meant Democrats would not support a bill backed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to keep immigrant families together while seeking asylum on the U.S. border, Schumer said they want to keep the focus on Trump.

“Schumer said they want to keep the focus on Trump.”… like I said, it smells like a manufactured crisis.

Trump: Our Russian messaging czar & most useful idiot

President Trump pulled several bait and switch messaging spin gambits with his reality TV summit extravaganza.  The most disturbing was his surprise announcement that the U.S. was suspending military exercises in the region, unbeknownst to our top military leaders.  Despite all the sycophantic hype about  “Trump the stupendous deal-maker” and “Trump the multi-dimensional strategic genius”, the truth is he is neither and is, in fact, a clueless nincompoop  on foreign policy, international diplomacy, and the historical intricacies of dealing with other countries.

Why on earth the president decided to promote Putin’s inclusion in the G-7 meeting and then attack America’s staunchest allies at the G-7, before jetting off to his sideshow summit to kiss the butt of a thug communist despot like Kim Jong Un boggles the mind.  Why did he feel the need to praise Kim and tout him as a respected leader, concerned with the welfare of the North Korean people?

The Trump/Russian collusion narrative the mainstream media and Left hyped turned into a disaster for the Dems and a boon for Trump, due to the relentless spin efforts of the mainstream media selling a steady stream of Clinton/Obama/Dem opposition hit pieces, like the Steele dossier,  as legitimate news.  As I’ve stated many times, both campaigns engaged in “Russian collusion”, trying to acquire dirt on their opponent from Russian sources.  The Steele and Shearer dossiers claim high-level Kremlin sources, which would make those efforts successful Clinton/Russian collusion.  The Trump campaign has the failed Don Jr. meeting with the Russian lawyer and a Republican operative, Peter Smith, trying to hire a Brit intel agency to buy Hillary’s emails from Russian hackers.

Despite it being highly unlikely that Putin “colluded” directly with Trump or the Trump campaign, President Trump behaves like he’s afraid of Putin and like he has something to hide.  The President Trump heading to the G-7 meeting and going on a campaign to advocate that Putin should be invited too follows a long habit of Trump to sell the Russian messaging.  Again, this raises the question, “Why?”  Why does the president of the United States adopt and try to sell the American people pathetic Russian messaging?

Fast forward to the Trump summit bait and switch, and here is the president selling Kim as a great leader concerned about the North Korean people, but even worse he adopted communist messaging attacking the legitimacy of the American military mission in the region.  To sell this truly unconscionable and borderline treasonous crap communist messaging, he pulled a con job selling it to his followers as an effort to  save the American taxpayers from wasteful spending.

In our hyper-partisan echo-chambers, each side will dig in, but we all should check our partisan hats when it comes to American national security and foreign policy.  Love Trump or hate him, there’s something very wrong with an American president kowtowing to despots, whether that president be President Obama kissing up to Cuban and Iranian thugs or President Trump kissing up to Putin and Kim Jong Un.

This President is as much a foreign policy nightmare as Obama – that’s the unvarnished truth.

Trump Sells “North Korean Deal” Snakeoil

This Trump sideshow meeting with King Jong Un is a sad joke.  The world is truly now part of the President Trump reality TV show.  The American media, punditry, American politicians and even other world leaders now spend their time reacting to Trump’s  sideshow antics, which amount to little more than childish taunts, incessant whining, and endless streams of meaningless and idiotic assertions, which Trump’s enablers bend over backwards to airbrush away.

It goes without saying that the political Left , which includes most of the mainstream media offer up their own relentless, predictable, hysterical stream of anti-Trump rhetoric, doing more to bolster Trump’s support than to damage him.  The mainstream media help feed Trump’s extreme narcissistic public antics, but they also continue to damage their own credibility by allowing their hatred for Trump to cloud their judgment and poison their reporting.  Their hysterical spin has damaged their credibility far more than Trump’s pathetic whining about “Fake News” and “witch hunts”.

President Trump once again betrayed his closest advisers and he made a serious strategic military decision regarding U.S. military posture on the Korean peninsula, without any consultation with top military leaders or America’s allies in the region.  Partisan politics aside, this is a supremely reckless decision and the truth is he announced this without understanding the ramifications, without any consultation with America’s allies, and worst of all without any concern for U.S troops in the region.  He made this concession on halting military training exercises without North Korea actually having to do anything.  And he did it to secure Kim Jong Un’s happy photo-op to feed the Trump reality TV presidency show.

My gut reaction was the same as when Obama caved to Iran or cavorted with Cuban despots.  North Korea got Trump’s number.   Trump was so desperate for an agreement to feed his “tremendous deal-making” bluster, that he was willing to cave to North Korean demands.  And the treacherous icing on Trump’s North Korean craven cake was an American president praising the leader of a brutal, murderous regime and flat-out lying about Kim Jong Un’s concern for the people of North Korea.

If you step outside the dizzying American spin information war and assess Trump’s cowardly comments, his total ignorance of and disregard for preparation, details, historical knowledge and listening to subject matter experts (even his own), we are back to a blog post I wrote almost a year ago:

“But it is the unscripted Mr Trump that is real.”

The above line from Australian ABC political editor, Chris Uhlmann, should be the response every time Trump apologists once again mention that Trump can “act presidential”, as they cling to scripted speeches he delivers and speeches which he has no real input into their creation.  Other presidents relied on speechwriters too, but those presidents had political ideological core beliefs and principles.  Even for people like me, who vehemently disagreed with President Obama on almost every issue, I do not doubt for a minute his sincerity and conviction on issues.   This editorial is a must see report.  It is the grim truth:

“He is a character drawn from America’s wild west, a travelling medicine showman selling moonshine remedies that will kill the patient.

And this week he underlined he has neither the desire nor the capacity to lead the world.”

And:

“There is a tendency among some hopeful souls to confuse the speeches written for Mr Trump with the thoughts of the man himself.

He did make some interesting, scripted, observations in Poland about defending the values of the West.

And Mr Trump is in a unique position — he is the one man who has the power to do something about it.

But it is the unscripted Mr Trump that is real. A man who barks out bile in 140 characters, who wastes his precious days as President at war with the West’s institutions — like the judiciary, independent government agencies and the free press.”

The key takeaway in Trump’s sideshow deal making is that he does not care how many of his advisers he betrays or throws under the bus or that top U.S. military commanders were left out of the loop on this major shift in military posture, all so that Trump could have his big staged photo-ops with Kim Jong Un.

Rather than being “a historic breakthrough on Korean hostilities”, this Trump staged Kim lovefest summit show, following Trump’s G-7  attacks on America’s staunchest allies prequel highlights, once again that Trump is a reckless, toxic leader, who puts promoting his reality TV presidency show over U.S. national interests.   No great strategic breakthrough occurred and America’s key allies were left out of the loop, all so that Trump, with his FOX News propaganda entourage could bleat on about “Trump the brilliant deal maker”.

Blog update

Here’s a quick blog update.  My husband has been in the hospital since May 6th, so I’ve been too tired to write and not following politics closely enough to become engaged enough to write about anything.  Sometime this week, my husband is supposed to move to a rehab facility for intensive physical therapy for a week or two and then at some point after that he will need the shunt in his brain replaced.  I’ve been spending most of my days in Savannah at the hospital with him.

Once things settle down here, hopefully I’ll get back to writing.

A fitting 2016 blog repost

Today I caught just a little of the latest Trump news and the surreal optics of Rudy Giuliani appearing on FOX News last night and admitting that President Trump reimbursed his lawyer, Michael Cohen, the $130,000 hush money paid to Stormy Daniels, the porn star, who alleges she had an affair with Trump juxtaposed to President Trump sermonizing this morning for the National Day of Prayer.  However, it’s as surreal as having James Comey, James Clapper and John Brennan, leaking sensitive information to take down President Trump and on a media blitz to gin up anti-Trump sentiment, hint at ominous “Russian collusion” committed by President Trump and cast aside any doubts about their rabid anti-Trump sentiments.  Added to the surreal optics is after 15 months of President Trump being in office, Hillary Clinton is still on her sore loser tour, putting forth endless reasons for her “I was robbed” takes on why she lost the 2016 election.   I believe most of America wants to move on and has adjusted to the reality TV presidency of President Trump, however there are plenty of rabid #Resist  partisans on the Left and a small segment of NeverTrumpers, who are determined to see President Trump impeached and work tirelessly unto that end, leaving America still stuck on this 2016 hamster wheel.  Round and round we go…

I’m reposting my April 19, 2016 blog post, Drumpfzilla vs. the Witch of Chappaqua, which holds up pretty well on both Trump and Hillary:

After almost a year of this 2016 presidential campaign, the endless Trump theatrics and bogus allegations, replete with vile, petty name-calling and endless spin (lying) makes me disgusted not only with Trump, but also with his big name enablers.  I lost respect for many public figures in the process, especially Rudy Giuliani, who could go on national TV and proclaim that Trump behaves gentlemanly and is a gentleman. That level of bold-faced lying for political purposes rests as something I expect from Hillary Clinton, not from Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor.  The Trump demolition of the GOP continues and  rather than beat a dead horse and repeat the same mantra daily,  I’m working on some other craft projects and also some other topics to write about – hence, not as frequent blog posts.

My fervent hope is that both Hillary and Trump get fired  – she  to face charges and he as a total lying, conniving fraud, but of course, due to the state of America and the worship of celebrity, my hope rests as, at best, a forlorn one.  She will not be held to account for jeopardizing national security on an epic scale and Trump, a TV clown act, who definitely does not possess the integrity, intellectual heft, work ethic or frankly good manners to be President, just might insult his way into the White House.

How smart people can excuse his petty stream of  “Little Marco”, “Lyin’ Ted”, Megyn bleeding out of her wherever and Carly’s ugly face taunts, well, I don’t get it.  Top that with the fact that the man does not hire the best people, he doesn’t bother to do his homework, he’s corrupt and worse than that he corrupts those who follow him.  They begin to believe his lies and convoluted excuses and worse repeat them.  No one stole his delegates – he was too lazy, too cheap and most of all believed  he could ride free media buzz all the way to the nomination, so he didn’t bother with setting up real state campaign operations.

Trump’s latest RNC delegate rants repeat the same Trump pattern – he didn’t bother to prepare for debates and when he ended up looking like an ignorant ass – he walked away from the debates.  However, for months, his enablers bragged that he was different, he didn’t need to know details or prepare, as he would hire the best people, and he even set out mocking Carly Fiorina for her obvious dedicated study and preparation as a negative – boring even.  Heck, I caught myself thinking she does sound very prepared as if that was a negative, until I realized Trump was sucking me into his amoral relativistic thinking – he does that to people.  He will find a little grain of truth and use it to sell a whole truckload of lies and bullshit.  He also connives people into becoming willing participants in his vile attacks and smear campaigns, as they repeat his sleazy dirt.  Her studying demonstrated she was worthy of the job she was seeking and Trump’s refusal to follow the rules or put any effort into policy research shows he is UNFIT for the job.  He perverts, not only the truth, but people’s moral compass, as he sells you on his entitlement, due to he is rich (successful).

Now, he wants the RNC to ditch all the rules to accommodate him, all because of his own lack of planning and cheapskate campaign tactics have left him without viable state grassroots organization.  His free ride with mass media collusion is about to end and he’s now having to pay his way, which he is whining about non-stop.  The man is a fraud and worse than that, he corrupts everyone who buys into his delusional conspiracy victim-hood tripe.  One can only wonder how he will fare, if  he does bare-knuckle his way to the GOP nomination.  The media sits poised to turn on him and will unleash the Clinton attack machine.  Assuredly, they want Trump to burn down the GOP tent, as they have given Trump billions of dollars of free air time, to that end.   However, their fork-tongued, flame-throwing swamp monster, Drumpfzilla, seems to have acquired land legs and he’s as adept at “scorched earth” as the Witch of Chappaqua.   The blaze from 2016 may be one for the record books, but let’s hope that America is still left standing and neither of these two vile creatures ends up in the Oval Office!

Blog Note

Just a short blog note here to let you know my blogging will continue to be sporadic, due to some family health issues.  I’ll try to get some blog posts written soon, but presently most of my time and energy is involved in trying to keep up with my housework and caring for my husband, whose mobility is very limited right now. He’s got to have more tests done & possibly replacement of the shunt that’s already in his head, but for the moment most of the time he can’t walk more than a few steps with his walker.  So, we’re getting a routine established moving him around the house in the wheelchair, dressing, etc.

Weekend SPIN info war status report

President Trump engaged in an appalling Twitter tantrum yesterday, as former First Lady, Barbara Bush, was being laid to rest.  First Lady, Melania Trump, attended the memorial service, as did former presidents, Clinton, Obama and their wives and of course both Bush presidents were there.  The glaring absence was President Trump.

President Trump reacted like a kid, who wasn’t invited to the birthday party that all his peers were attending, by tweeting mean and petty attacks.  He was a child lashing out and I doubt he realizes how much he damages himself by continuing the petty name-calling and “Trump being Trump” tactic.  Long ago, I wrote that Trump made a big mistake being the one-man show hurling insults to run his scorched earth.  The Clintons always relied on Blumenthal’s sneaky planting dirt in the media and people like James Carville to be the attack dogs, so they never got their hands dirty.

Trump’s embrace of the vicious SPIN info war and being his own attack dog is a self-defeating tactic, if his goal is to be treated with respect befitting the President of the United States of America.  To be treated with respect demands you treat others with respect.  To ever hope to be treated as a great leader, means you learn to rise above the gutter and insults, and lead by example.

Way back in the beginning of Trump’s presidential run, I wrote often about how he learned how to use the Clinton SPIN information warfare tactics and due to a variety of factors, including Hillary Clinton’s own missteps, like not campaigning in key Rust Belt states to shore up support and calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables”, he won the election.  However, the Clintons, Democrats and many in the mainstream media, who run the Left’s SPIN info war were never going to allow Trump to be treated like a President of the United States.   They’ve waged the same relentless SPIN war against Trump that they ran against GW Bush, except it’s more intense.

Bill Clinton survived impeachment, leaving extreme partisan animus. However there wasn’t much love lost between Al Gore and Bill Clinton, so compared to the 2000 election loss, that partisan battle over the election results, was not as vicious as the battle over 2016.  2016 is deeply personal and Hillary Clinton has a well-seasoned information warfare apparatus, which has waged non-stop information warfare against President Trump.  Sid Blumenthal’s fingerprints are all-over the “Trump Russia Collusion” hysteria and the media recycling through the Dump on Trump spin attacks.

That Comey, Clapper and Brennan decided to sell Kremlin propaganda and disguise it as legitimate intelligence, along with selling Steele’s dossier as an intelligence report rather than as political opposition dirt needs to be investigated by the proper U.S. intelligence authorities.   The supposed credibility of the Steele dossier is that it came from high-level Kremlin sources.  Unpack that in your mind – the credibility , Comey, Clapper, Brennan, the Dems, and the mainstream media are relying on to prove “Trump Russian Collusion” came from the Kremlin…  The Steele dossier is Clinton/DNC Russian collusion.  That top U.S. intelligence officials would engage in a SPIN operation selling unverified Kremlin dirt is not only unethical, it’s a serious national security concern.

Even now, James Comey caveats the infamous alleged pee tape as unverified, but slyly hints that it might be true and that the Kremlin might have compromising information on Trump.  Reality check here – the Kremlin likely has compromising dirt on most high US officials and Western officials, because amassing dirt to engage in smear campaigns is the Kremlin’s information warfare modus operandi.  To have a former FBI director using Kremlin propaganda to destroy a duly elected American president is surreal.

President Trump rather than colluding with the Russians, appears to be a dupe, just as the Clintons are.   The Kremlin fed them the dirt for the Steele dossier and they swallowed it whole.

President Trump watches a lot of FOX news and gets a great deal of his SPIN attacks from FOX pundits.  I believe our counter-intelligence agencies should be looking closely at the FOX SPIN apparatus for hostile foreign intelligence connections.  Add Drudge Report to that concern, among several other Trump SPIN outlets.  Sadly, I have felt for a long time that the Clinton’s reliance on Blumenthal and several other shady operators surrounding them left them completely compromised and  some hostile foreign intelligence have access to all the inner-workings of the Clinton machine.

It’s way past time for America to defeat the corrupt, polarizing, destabilizing scorched earth SPIN information warfare being waged via America’s mass media outlets.  This isn’t about choosing between Trump or Hillary,  Republican or Democrat, it’s about deciding to promote being an American first and to work to promote pulling America’s moral center back to the middle, away from the extreme partisan fringes.  It’s about changing the tenor of our American political culture.  It’s about stopping the SPIN news cycle and teaching reporters, political leaders and the American people to begin the process of taking a deep breath and not jumping to conclusions or repeating every piece of sensationalized news which wafts across the news airwaves or internet superhighway.

JK posted the link to the OIG report on Andrew McCabe’s “lack of candor” and everyone should read that report, which centers on McCabe lying about his role in FBI leaks to the WSJ about the Weiner laptop containing more Hillary emails.

James Comey is talking a lot these days on his book tour and he’s got his talking points well rehearsed.  Comey has been bragging that he is Mr. Ethical who called for Andrew McCabe to be investigated, but McCabe’s lawyer has made a statement for McCabe, that Comey is lying and was completely aware of the WSJ leaks McCabe authorized:

“In a statement, Bromwich says “the report fails to adequately address the evidence (including sworn testimony) and documents that prove that Mr. McCabe advised Director Comey repeatedly that he was working with the Wall Street Journal on the stories in question prior to publication.””

The leaks to the WSJ relate to October 2016 leaks from high within the FBI to counter lower level FBI  leaked information to the WSJ about ongoing Clinton Foundation criminal investigations and Huma Abedin having Hillary emails on the Weiner laptop, which the FBI had seized during the Weiner investigation.

Comey and the mainstream media have consistently used the Dem. spin messaging casting those lower level leakers as “rogue, Trump-supporters” in the FBI.  I don’t know if they were Trump-supporters or not, but as always the media went with that labeling.  They might have been pursuing their criminal investigation and believed at the highest levels of the FBI and DOJ, there was a corrupt effort to impede or deep-six their investigation.  If there was suspected criminal activity by powerful political figures, you’d think the FBI would want to proactively investigate that.  Did they ever try to secure Bill Clinton’s emails from that homebrew server?  That server was his personal email server for his Clinton Foundation work.

It’s helpful to go back over the timelines and the messaging campaigns underway.  From my Dec. 13, 2016 blog post, Queen Hillary’s failing coup:

“Here’s a rundown of the Clinton/Dem/Colluding Media talking points I’ve seen, being hysterically repeated on Twitter and various news sites in the last few days:

  • “Fake News” is a dire threat and only certain (Clinton colluding) media can be trusted to report “real” news.
  • Various incantations on popular vote should rule over electoral college – from the dramatically escalating popular vote total for Hillary (likely embellished) to contorted legal reasoning, to crap like Nate Silver tweeted some tripe that Hillary only lost in 4 states by 1%, so without the Russian hacking she’d likely have won – so based on a hypothetical situation, he created imaginary polling statistics, that he’s presenting as serious analysis???
  • More Comey attacks – Harry Reid claimed Comey downplayed Russian hacking.
  • Harry Reid claims Trump directly involved with Russian hacking.
  • Electoral college electors need a special CIA briefing on Russian hacking.
  • America needs a do-over election, because of Russian interference in the election.

The liberal media has shed all pretense of being objective journalists, in fact, many are little more than Democratic hacks.  The hysteria over Americans paying attention to Wikileaks over American journalists’ reporting or Democrat mouthpieces speaks not to Americans being idiots, it speaks to people TRUST Wikileaks (a likely Russian front) over American journalists and the liberal media.

Following Twitter, is an exercise in frantic, sore-loser talking points, most bogus or deeply disingenuous, being breathlessly repeated by a cadre of big name “journalists” and news organizations 24/7.  It’s like kids at summer camp, sitting in a circle around a campfire, whispering something in the next person’s ear and saying, “Pass it on!””

James Comey still bringing up the alleged Trump pee tape in a Moscow hotel on his book tour is the most amazing thing to behold.  He is using unverified allegations from Steele, a paid Clinton/DNC, operative, who relied on 2nd and 3rd hand Russian sources,  claiming to have sources close to the Kremlin.  A former FBI director is and has been working to delegitimize President Trump, a duly elected American president, using an alleged Kremlin sex tape of an American citizen visiting Moscow.  Comey always slyly asserts he doesn’t know if it’s true, but he puts it out to disparage Trump.  Sure, Trump does plenty to discredit himself, but the truth is there appears to have been an orchestrated effort at the highest levels of the Obama administration and among some top Obama intelligence and FBI officials to takedown Trump by vicious leaks and a relentless scorched earth media campaign to both delegitimize his presidency and continually bait him.  Unfortunately for Trump, without fail, he takes their bait.

During those days in October 2016, while the Hillary email investigation was reopened, the Dems and media were on board with the messaging campaign to cast the leaks about ongoing Clinton Foundation criminal investigations and the Weiner laptop as the work of “rogue Trump-supporters” in the FBI, but they also have burnished Steele into some reliable, retired super-spy, even though he has admitted to being virulently anti-Trump and his dossier relied on 2nd and 3rd hand sources in Russia, claiming sources close to the Kremlin.  That means that information is highly likely never going to be verifiable or reliable, but James Comey’s FBI used the Steele dossier, which he knew was dirt on Trump paid for by the Clinton campaign/DNC, to initiate spying on Trump campaign officials and he’s still trying to sell the Steele dossier (Kremlin dirt allegedly compiled on an American citizen) on this book tour.

Something is very wrong with how the Lynch DOJ and Comey led FBI operated.

Trump might end up impeached for some issues stemming from the Cohen investigation, but this Trump/Russian collusion spin is about spun out.
