A must read Gates of Vienna blog post
The Gates of Vienna blog consists of a group of dedicated reporters/writers, who diligently present news and commentary on as their subtitle states, “At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war.”
To explain the Obama administration’s policy inability to foresee any of the devastating failures of their “ending the war” policy, this post, “Beheaded by a Feckless Delusion” , with a Brennan video clip explains it clearly.
Just to reach across the partisan political aisle, John McCain can rush to the nearest microphone to get in front of this latest foreign policy debacle, but rest assured, his Syrian moderates weren’t really all that moderate and it’s not a failure to arm them that created, to use JK’s shorthand, “AQI > ISIL > ISIS > IS”. Their virulent, ascending Islamist ideology, on the march, continues “winning the hearts and minds” (or cutting them out of fallen foe and eating them) of individual disaffected young men in the Muslim world and they’re on the march globally. Whether we choose to pigeon-hole them into semantical coops and hope that we’re the foxes guarding the coop and can always pounce quickly (the Pax Americana view) or we pretend they aren’t a fox dressed in many-colored sheep’s clothing (calling themselves by anything but Al Qaeda makes them harmless), either way we completely miss the Islamist Ascendency. And rest assured, John Brennan knows them by name (or by one of their many aliases) and will add them to his drone target list…. No worries….

“Saving baby Jesus”, the new Dem talking point…… (Lord help us all)
Our public consistently ends up in an information black hole due to a total lack of inquisitiveness among our elite “journalists”, who early on in each “crisis” circle the wagons of liberal political orthodoxy and refuse to allow any new facts in. It’s a vast, dark place where we reside, alone in the darkness, trying to decipher the ground truth of situations.
On the border crisis, in consistent left-wing ideologically driven fashion, Nancy Pelosi hit the airwaves to parlay Glenn Beck’s humanitarian effort on the border into broad political support for President Obama’s request for billions of dollars in emergency funding for the border mess. She’s now using the “baby Jesus” in her cold-blooded, political posturing, courtesy of Breibart,“Pelosi: Border Children Should Be Treated Like Refugee Baby Jesus”:

“Pelosi concluded, “I reference the conference of bishops statement in which they say baby Jesus was a refugee from violence. Let us not turn away these children and send them back into a burning building. That’s the bishops, so we have to do this in a way that honors our values but also protects our border and does so in a way that the American people understand more clearly.”
So, the Democrat brain trust wants to convince right-wing Christians that it’s a moral duty to treat all these illegal immigrant children like the baby Jesus, which requires forking over billions of dollars of hard-working taxpayers’ money, not their own personal tithing. Note to Nancy, Jesus was born in a manger, because of people like you in charge – they had to travel to Bethlehem to pay taxes. Glenn Beck raised private money for his effort and when you’re dealing with private charity, if you burn that bridge on fiscal responsibility by misappropriating funds, your funding dries up. President Obama and frankly Congress too come to us pandering for more money, more support and more votes, with nothing to show for the vast debt they’ve burdened our children and us with for the foreseeable future. Money won’t solve this border mess, securing our borders and the President obeying our immigration laws will.
If you, like me, remained skeptical about the endless reporting, replete with handy-dandy statistics on Central American “gang violence” terror these refugees ( quite a potent political stink-bomb, the Democrats, set off with that term) are fleeing, well, finally someone came up with some cause and effect information that actually makes sense.
A few days ago, Tara Servatius penned a fascinating piece at the American Thinker,“The brutal Obama policy that’s really driving the Border Crisis”. Don’t expect the mainstream media to mention this, which shines light into their “gang violence” black hole theory. Servatius states:
“The flood of illegal immigrant children, piling up like human debris on the US border, won’t stop until conservatives learn about the obscure Obama administration policy that’s deliberately driving it and reverse it.
Issued in August of 2013, the policy is called the “Family Interest Directive,” and it essentially forbids Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from deporting, arresting or even detaining any illegal immigrant who is the caretaker of a child. That includes parents, legal guardians and even unrelated adults who merely claim they care for the child in question. The theory behind the directive is that it would be morally wrong to separate children from their “caretakers.”
Eureka, a Obama policy gambit forecasting that illegal immigrants with children, won’t be deported gets issued in August 2013 and a massive run on our Southern border ensues, hummm, now why hasn’t any mainstream journalist reported on this Obama refugee stink bomb? Well, there you have it folks, the truth doesn’t fit their saving baby Jesus narrative.
So obviously, ditching that directive and securing the border seem crucial to resolving this crisis, but President Obama and Nancy Pelosi, crassly tossing the baby Jesus into the public debate, talk only about more money for the refugees. It’s so obvious, yet the mainstream media plays along, clueless as usual, willing dupes for the political-left again. NO WAY, Jose (oops how unPC can I be), to tossing more taxpayer dollars to this spendthrift President and political cronies in Congress. How about a real plan to secure the border and stop the cause of the flood!

Spin continues
So, an unnamed senior U.S.official leaks details of Bergdahl’s condition and captivity. With this administration and Bergdahl health updates, wow, pass the salt shaker on that one, need more than a grain (courtesy Huffington Post):
“The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss what Bergdahl has revealed about the conditions of his captivity.”
What official – a Obama flunky or a US Army official – that is what I want to know? And also the official spoke anonymously, because he was “not authorized” to discuss what Bergdahl has revealed – yet the official still released this “information” anyway – what do rules mean to these people. Bergdahl’s fate needs to be decided by the respective command authority – not Obama spinners. The investigators should be allowed to investigate and make a determination on the case. It’s time for people to learn to follow the rule of law. Everyone in the chain of the command, to include the President, has a DUTY to follow the rules and not try to influence the investigation or outcome.
Decided to add a bit more. The “Bowe Bergdahl war hero” trial balloon deflated, next was an attempt to smear his teammates as psychos and blame the command. An attempt to spin Bowe Bergdahl “the victim/ traumatized captive” is the next casting. He walked away from his post to find the Taliban, because from his history we can deduce the French Foreign Legion mercenary dream didn’t pan out, his father said Bowe envisions himself as Bear Grylls the British survivalist. From there he joined the US Army, but that didn’t suit, so he walked away looking for the Taliban. That is the intelligence a Special Forces Commander, Rusty Bradley, said they received when they were sent to search for Bergdahl, last night on Fox News. MAJ Bradley was there, so I believe his first-hand account of the information they received over the radio when Bergdahl went missing. I believe his teammates too.
That is what people will have to decide – who is lying about the information they release (anonymously mostly – hiding like snakes in the grass). I am forming an opinion that this troubled young man had dubious loyalties, lived in a fantasy world and was selfish and only concerned about his thirst for adventure. He reminds me of a young man who came to work at my store a few years ago. On day one he told me that we don’t know anything about management when I calmly told him what tasks he needed to do. He was a wanderer (we get lots of those), so I tracked him down and told him that he needed to go to the furniture department and zone (clean up the side counters in the department and put away returned merchandise). He told me he had been in the Army and we don’t know anything about management. I told him, “That’s nice, I was in the Army long ago too, but this isn’t the Army and these are the tasks you need to work on.” He got indignant and told me his sister works at another store and she told him all about how things are supposed to be. This young man, like many we get, did not follow the rules, thought he knew everything, did not complete his tasks, was an attendance problem and ended up fired quickly. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his unit more than once and I am wondering if he was held accountable for the previous incidents and if that might have led to his disillusionment. Just something I wondered.
I don’t know yet, that is why I am weighing the credibility of the sources of the information, the facts that have been corroborated by more than one source, and then assessing them. I haven’t made a full judgment yet, because I am “analyzing” the information . Here is something I learned from an excellent little booklet:
“When we deal with information, we sometimes see through prisms – not real ones, made of glass, but “intellectual” prisms, in our minds. In other words, we approach an issue with a distorted view of it.”
he adds:
“In politics, the word for these intellectual prisms is “ideology.”
